It is beautiful - but I dont envy you this - or miss it! DH and I lived in Laurel MD the year that U of M couldn't open after winter holiday. We moved to GA that next spring... My SIL is still up there, in Columbia. I am sure that her girls are loving this!

This is what we woke up to this morning. Looks like we will be a while getting out.

So, if it is true that bad things come in three, then we are done. Bring on the good.:woohoo:

Sorry to hear about your poor dog getting an overdose. Hope your luck has turned now and things definitely start to improve.

Now we are 32 weeks (or 31.5 or 31, I have lost track) and even though I have planned, booked, paid for and done basically everything but pack, I feel so far behind... Before I am really ready to go, I have to make FE gifts, get the magnets printed and cut out, and I am sure about a gazillion other things... :) Give me time and I will remember what they are... Somehow I think I will be stressing come Monday prior to leaving...

I know what you mean ... my plan is to do something cruise related each month so that I don't end up in a last minute panic like I did last time. So far I have started my cast member "thank you" cards .... and thats it !
Aye, its drich the day again here in scotland.

it's what ????????

This is what we woke up to this morning. Looks like we will be a while getting out.

Those views are absolutely beautiful ..... stunning. But I suppose if you actually have to live with that and face the practicalities of it all then it must be a pain.

Mrs. Woody and I are packed for our cruise on the Sapphire Princess. We only have carry-on bags!

We leave in a few hours. I'll catch up when we return.

Woody

Have a wonderful time Woody and Mrs Woody.:goodvibes

Throttle was the starting point that came to mind:rolleyes1 If Rylea was actually affected by it things may have been different. But this dog doesn't let anything stop her. She'll chew/eat pop cans, razor blades, dry wall screws, metal framing studs, lead weights, raw chicken breasts off the counter, plastic bottles, steak knives, and so on. She has liking for metal. :sad2: Chewed her way through a wooden baby gate and bent the bars on a metal kennel to escape. Won't eat clothes, shoes, or most other things. She has had parvo and blown out her knee then reinjured the knee. But through it all she is like the "little engine that could" and won't let anything stop her from playing or getting to were she wants to go.

In it all she is a good dog and very friendly.

Jon

Yep! Rylea is very loveable and friendly...and extremely photogenic!
:thumbsup2

Dreich (Old Scots origin)

A combination of dull, overcast, drizzly, cold, misty and miserable weather. At least 4 of the above adjectives must apply before the weather is truly dreich.

Hi
I have just sat and read through at least 30 pages on Thread 3...to find when I got to the end..there's thread 4 already! :happytv:
I have been mainly lurking, because am off to Malaysia March 20th, and have had some planning to do for that. 7 flights and 7 hotels in total for the trip :rolleyes1 Hope I have got all the details correct!

Once that trip done, then I will be glued to the PC here no doubt! Hope to get to know you all soon.

Have got around to booking flights today from Birmingham to Barcelona on the Thursday pm before we cruise. Hotel next.

18kgs hold luggage and 10kgs on board. Now there's a challenge. Will buy some toiletries in Barcelona when I get there methinks. What weight saving packing tips does everyone have? Lots of cruise threads come up with packing lists that increases luggage weight....everything but the kitchen sink! Past 2 cruises we have had Virgin flights with more allowance than we could ever need...I had one bag just for shoes! So this will be a new one for me!

Still struggling with the Transatlantic fight home, but not in a panic yet.

Is anyone else planning Parasailing at CC? I have always wanted to do it, and DH gave it me as one of my Christmas presents! He printed the details off from the website and wrapped that, so I could have the surprise on Christmas Day, as obviously we cant book it yet. :cool1:

Loving everyone's animal stories throughout the thread. We have a new Cairn puppy dog (well, new in that she is 14 weeks old). We have called her MAGIC :cloud9: but she is usually called Madge for short as an everyday name! Today she has discovered a new thing. eating cat poo...YUK!:scared1: Hopefully she will grow big (well...bigGER) and strong and neighbours cats will no longer visit our garden :lmao:

Great to be here!
So looking forward to the cruise!
Lyn

guess what guys ......

...... only 32 weeks until we board the Disney Magic

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Not enough time ...geesh Im afraid I will run out of time with everything I got going on , we havent even really begun to plan .....maybe , Hopefully within the next month things will settle down and I can get my mind focused on this cruise ...errrrrrrrrr , this last year has been a whirlwind of changes

pirate:

We just spent an hour and a half with the snow blower to clear our driveway. They are saying another 12 inches today on top of the 20 or so we have already gotten. I just hope I don't get callled into work since I work for the electric company and it will be difficult getting there.

She sounds charming!! Our DS's dog (that lives with us) is a paper eater. :sad2: Don't leave any paper item of any value lying on the coffee table at my house!

This really is beautiful. I think Vancouver, BC would like some of this!!

No, I think that is so annoying to have to do that for a non cheap airline!!! I think it is only a short flight, so I can be apart from John for that longif we have to!! There is plenty of time for him to annoy me on the cruise!!!:lmao:

Well, we can look for a van in the first instance can't we?

I know, I was disappointed that we might not get to sit together since we'll be sharing a lot of stuff and it would be a pain to keep getting up. Plus our first leg is 11 hours!! We might end up booking them, I haven't really decided yet.

As for a van, do you mean we should book one ahead of time? I'm a little off on my proper English!! :rotfl:

I haven't even looked how much it is to book the seats. Just going to have look. It would be peace of mind to book them though.

I hadn't thought about booking transport from the airport.

:woohoo: I can say the same now, thanks Lyn. Candida approves, not that she had a choice this morning. That's what happens when you decide to sleep in and leave me with access to the computer:rotfl:, plus a friend to do the planning and booking ;)

I don't think Candida realizes what 18 kg actually is. Guess, I'll be going with what ever I can wear at one time as my allowance for the trip. Candida will need my 18 kg as well :lmao: :idea:Any body got some underwear I can borrow:rotfl:

Still struggling with the Transatlantic fight home, but not in a panic yet.

There is always a room here for you and Bob.

Hi Lyn.from another Lynne!

18 kg, NOT funny is it???:sad2::sad1::scared: We flew to La with AA last year, it was bliss 2 x 22 kgs each!
Madge, oh bless, pics please!
Cat poo, my beagles spent a whole month going through the snow looking for cat poo, then vomited it up all over my sitting room rug(which went in the bin) so I would hit that one on the head rapidly if I was you!

re para sailing, Ive done it and loved it else where, I had it booked last cruise and I was gutted cause it was too windy, so I will be trying again on our trans atlantic cruise.

My dad passed away a year ago today, so that's weighing me down. Thus far, I'm doing better today than I did yesterday. I couldn't stop crying yesterday. I thought that checking in with my DIS peeps would help, too. :grouphug:

I lost my mom over Labor Day weekend in 2002 (to round 2 of cancer). I was a mess in 2003, actually wondered if I needed to check myself in somewhere I was in such distress, but ended up hanging out with some friends that weekend to get through it. :grouphug: I can tell you that it does get a little easier with each passing year. I have finally found a good spot, knowing that I got to go back east for a month before she passed, thanks to my company closing and being unemployed. I really feel that things happen for a reason, however much easier to see that now then when I was living it. So now I just make sure I have plans every Labor Day weekend so I don't get too depressed. This year I will be flying to Barcelona to spend a few days before the 10 day on 9/8.

I just got my vacation hair cut. I (the salon) just chopped off 12 inches of hair this morning. I feel 5 pounds lighter (wish it was that easy to lose weight - I would shave my head). I will be donating to Locks of Love on Monday. I went from hair to the middle of my back to a "bob" (between my chin and shoulders). I figure I will get a few inches of growth before September so will be able to pull it up if it is warm.

Hope all you in the mid-Atlantic are surviving the storm. I am doing laundry (yet again) and starting to "pack" for vacation. Seeing you don't really ever wear shorts in San Francisco, I am trying on my shorts from my cruise almost 2 years ago now to make sure the fit and then ironing them and putting them away in the spare room. Also trying to get organized with my toiletries breaking up into what I will need in the stateroom (which will go in the suitcase) and what things I will take with me in my carry-on (i.e. toothpaste & toothbrush and some small travel size items in case my luggage goes astray.) I also trying to figure out what I am going to do for my shore excursions (more for the 10 day - but that thread is very quiet).

Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm and dry.

Super orginized, I really need a hair cut, I lost my dear hairdresser/friend /neighbour, need to bit the bullet and choose a salon.
Bet your hair feels great! you have a great weekend also.

OMG my car is disappearing and it's still snowing!!! Just hope I can get out of my door when it starts winding down! Guess I know what I'm doing later...shovel....shovel... oh to be on the Magic crossing the Altantic :cloud9:

Thank goodness for our neighbors. They have tractors with plows and snowblowers!!! now we will only have to clear the two feet of snow on the cars!!!
