Jon, Personally I prefer Barq's over A&W. But, We get the diet variety which is diffrerent. Oh, and I don't like MUG at all... However, I think that this is a clever attempt by you to offer to steer the Magic one night! :rotfl: It's almost like we should invite the Captain to come and have a pint with us... LOL!

Capt there is a wonderful group that would like to buy you some drinks. Don't worry I take the helm. This might be a lil bigger than the ones I drive at work, but it still floats the same, right? Castaway Cay here we come:banana::banana:

Hi everyone, I have been reading along just have not been posting.

This past weekend, I was in Daytona Beach for my youngest son's wedding. Here are a few pictures.

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...&id=1287373415

We flew down on Friday but had an hour delay in Columbus because of plane trouble. My sister picked us up in Orlando and I drove us to Daytona Beach. My son and his wife had planned to have the ceremony on the beach but the weather really did not cooporate at all so they had to move it inside. It was beautiful. Lots of good company, food and a little drinking!!!

My son chose to play Blackbird by the Beatles for our dance. It was very emotional. My DH's brother was killed by an irresponsible person who left the hospital before he should have and passed out and hit my BIL while he was working on a brick wall repairing work from an accident a month earlier. He had just called us the day before so happy to tell us the news that he and his DW were expecting their first. Jake was born 8 months later never knowing his dad. His father Brad used to sing Beatles songs to my kids and when my DD got married, she had this song played for her and my DH. Of course we all did the ugly cry. Plus Jake was her ring bearer at age 9. This summer he will be 17.

She said it was okay for Stevie to play it for us to dance. So this time we were trying not to do the ugly cry!!!

My oldest son Howie is a photographer and he took pictures. He got some fantastic pictures of Steve and Michelle on the beach.

Hope you can see the pictures!!!!! :goodvibes

We love vinegar and salt chips. Yum!

We have Salt n'vinegar crisps/chips here, the ones at MArks and Spencers were this mix of puffy shapes. Will def try to get some in Gibraltar!

Regional food is a great fish extender treat. :goodvibes I'm looking at that also, but have to watch the weight. Maybe something huckleberry from here in Montana. There is lots to choose from.

Which weight are we watching, luggage or waistline weight? :rotfl2:

Now thats an idea for me if I decide to join in FE. How many in FE so far and is there a limit?

I was wondering too? Also is there a cut-off date so we have definate numbers and time to organise?

Tim Tams - yum... I found an Aussie food store here in San Francisco so I can get them when I want - Carmels are my favorite. From London my favorite was the Cadbury flake. Funny how we find those things that you love while traveling and can't get back home.

Cadbury is Australia's favourite chocolate too. We love crushed flakes over our ice-cream!

We were actually thinking of bringing some Aussie food over to put in the fish extender's. Maybe some Tim Tams, Caramello Koala's, Vegemite.....?

Cherry Ripes! Yum! We can get these here occasionally now too (thank goodness).

Ages ago we talked about doing a candy/chocolate swap where everyone brings along some items from their country or region - is there still any interest in this?

We can get Tim Tams and Flakes here (we have a Cadbury factory in Dunedin).

Personally I love Reeces Peanutbutter cups from the US, Mr Kiplings Cherry Bakewell Tarts from the UK and Cherry Ripes from Australia (which now seem to be coming in regularly to NZ now).

My Mum craves crispy bacon (she's English) and real pork sausages, pork pies and scotch eggs - none of which taste like the English ones.

Ghiradelli chocolates for us, DW took her board name (hotfudgesundae) from her favourite item off their menu in DTD :cloud9: Allways have to bring a bag home with us evey year and ration them. :)

Well another night of snow means working from home today (they are allowing us too cause of the adverse conditions). This was my veiw this morning and Im now getting fed up with it. Weve got more snow falling too!

WOW ...you have loads of snow Sarah ... a beautiful view but no doubt it's all becoming a bit of an inconvenience right now and the novelty is wearing off. We had another small covering yesterday but not enough to worry about. Looking forward to the rising temperatures next week .... might get warm enough for me to get out for a walk :goodvibes

Us 3, we always check out the supermarkets! I adore your Goldfish over there, so good in soup! And we bought this weird salt and vinegar chip mix at Marks and Spencers while in London, Wow they were good!

What on earth are Tim Tams ?

I absolutely adore Reeces Peanut Butter cups and any Reeces peanut butter product when I am in the USA. You can buy them over here in some supermarkets but I totally associate them with being in Florida and won't eat them in the UK. We always buy a bag of the mini ones when we go to Walmart. :cloud9::cloud9:

We just started to re sign up and the list is small (today... hint, hint everyone!). On the old website there were about 60 or so cabins signed up. However, we lost quite a few people so Iam not sure where we will land. Not even sure who was organizing, but if they don't speak up, I will organize it - not a problem! I don't want to set a limit, but if the group gets too large we can divide it up and run 2 exchanges.

I organised the FE exchange on my last cruise and we ended up splitting into 3 groups, as people felt that was more manageable when it came to packing. We had about 18 in each group if I recall. It was really good fun :woohoo:

and because I was working on a 12 hour shift yesterday I didn't get on the computer and I forgot to say this:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNNE !!!!!!

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Hope you had a lovely day :hug::hug:

One more post . . .and I promise I'll go to bed . . .

Would love to hear what others are doing BEFORE the cruise . . .

We're considering flying into Madrid and traveling up to Barcelona on the trains. I"m concerned about too much luggage, but my experience on European trains was 20 years ago and I only had ONE bag then . . .LOL.

Do you have some great touring ideas, too?

Can't wait! 2010 is only days away!

Hi
I am a little late with a reply to this (have just been catching up with reading back posts!)
But just wanted to say that our experience of Spanish trains is that they are incredibly good! Madrid main train station is a sightseeing highlight in itself to see, check out all the tropical scenery and terrapins! Madrid is a fabulous city. We went on train Madrid to Alicante, a similar run to Barcelona. The ticket included a full service more like an airline, complete with 3 course meal, pre dinner drinks, wine with meal. Luggage wasnt a problem. We had 2 large cases and 2 small. Madrid is very Spanish speaking, dont expect too much english, but we dont speak Spanish (can just about manage to ask for dos lattes in Starbucks!), and we got on ok. I am pretty sure we used an online booking service for the train booking in advance and had e tickets or something.. We used a local train to visit Parc Warner theme park outside Madrid also, and found it easy.
Hope this helps!

Would you like me to send you the links/photos for the menus again? Up to you if you still want them on the website?

OHHHH yes love American proper crispy bacon - Marks and Spencers now sell these with their salad kits for anyone who really misses it but its exensive. I love peanutbutter cups!

There are nasty rumours of more snow next week! I'm so not looking forward to that. We've got grandads funeral on Monday and its going to be a nightmare if we have more snow! Hate this! Did make it to work today!
