The planning is a big part of the FUN!

I have a question about how bad will it be aft for seasickness?
I downgraded out cabin to a Cat.7. I convinced DP it would not be bad...she is paranoid about not being midship.

This will be our 4th cruise and we have never had a problem, except for once during dinner at Palo's during rough seas...hence the concern. Of, course she would never admit it could have had alot to do with the 3 glasses of wine. :rotfl: We, were pretty unsteady on our feet.

I like the idea of a bit of "privacy" on the veranda...and shelter it provides.

Planning is the ebst bit almost.

I dont know about sea sick, I just take what room I am given, never had the luxury of choosing.
I have been in some pretty rough seas and never been sea sick, I did blame it once but it was the wine;) but 3 glasses dont count!

Sarah(gizmo) I just looked at they cruises, cough/splutter, pretty expensive I would have to have a white wine intravenous drip to even nearly get my money worth!:rotfl2:

Last minute:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
Are you serious? for us paranoid planning devas????????????

OK so maybe last minute deals are not an option for all of you paranoid planning divas - but really you should check out the prices - they are quite unbelievable. I am determined to try a last minute trip one day, just leave a 2 week leave window and book a couple of months out - ok don't fall about laughing! (actualy the only time ever we took a last minute holiday deal it turned out to be a holiday from hell, so maybe I should learn from that!)

You are right - I love planning, but I get so frustrated having to wait sooooo long! We were sort of aft last cruise - on Deck 6 (aft - ish) and didn't feel the movement any worse there than anywhere else - I only had to lie down once because of feeling giddy and that was more to do with a very strong maragarita I had in Cozumel.

Well, I am a terribly seasick person. Tried everything until I settled on Bonine. One every night before bed whether I need it or not, and thank the good Lord, I have never been seasick with that, no matter where I am. Think it's just a matter of finding what works for your DP. :) (BTW, the patch, ginger, wristbands, even Dramamine ... nothing else works for me.).

I am glad to see that we didn't lose too many to the 2011 announcements. :goodvibes

I booked Le Meridien yesterday for me and Mike. At least that is out of the way. Thanks to your input, I hadn't considered the intra-Europe baggage fees and so forth.

Can't believe it is less than a year now. I am really quite looking forward to this one.

Good news everyone...our baby has arrived!

Tristan Alexander Turner was born on Monday, 9/21/09 at 7:04 PM. He weighed 9 lb 0 oz, and was 20.5 inches long. Mom, baby and dad are doing well. Big sister hasn't met him yet because she's been running a fever (staying at home with the grandparents), but she has seen pictures and looking forward to seeing him.

Congratulations on the new baby.:flower3:

Congratulations. He is adorable.

Have any of you ever checked out the website "vacations to go". If you click on the 90 day ticker you will see some really cheap last minute deals. Lat week there was a 5 day bahamas cruise with RCI for £98 - no joke!

That's really good!

Oh and watched Sky Travel today and they are doing 2 for 1 on Costa Cruises for next summer. 7 night Med cruise for £1200 for 2 people including flights!

It's hard to compare airfare prices now...not apples to apples anyway. Oneways are more then 1/2 a round trip (which I always found unfair.) And multi-stops....forget it! When I look at August I can get oneway Detroit to BCN for around $750 pp.....for Oct 2009 I come up with as low as, $480pp. I think Sept will be in between. Pretty much the whole Iberian Penninsula is on holiday in August...so i would expect higher prices.
The best site I found so far cheapoair.com and vayama?

Oh Ill give them a look! Sounds good.

I have been in a Cat 7 and not felt too bad but not on the last TA. I was mid ship so can't comment sorry

Just remember anything with ginger ale works good :rotfl:

Hey I didn't look at full prices just the offer ones. £1000 for Alaska per person sounded a good deal compared to Disney! Especially when it includes trips and drinks!

Youre braver than me lol I just can't let go that much. Need the control hence started looking at prices for flights last year.

LOL I find the frustration is outweighed by the panic over forgetting something!
