Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.3

I am NOT giving up the TA in any case - we have made a final decision on that one - so you'll be stuck with us :rotfl:

My dilemma is this - DH is 50 in October 2011 and I am thinking of booking a surprise cruise to coincide with his birthday. The repo is in April 2011 - which isn't the best timing for us as DS is likely to be doing some sort of exams.
But the price I have been quoted is sooooo good. I also can't justify the cost of 2 x one way flights just for a 7 day vacation and I would want to tack on a week in LA.

On top of this we would also want to have a holiday with DS - and if DD gets on the college programme at WDW then we will want to go and visit her during the summer.

So ultimately the sensible choice is to cruise for DH's birthday in November and forget the LA repo for 2011 - I'm will then hope that they will keep doing this itinerary and we can book it in the years beyond 2011 - and now I am going crazy!:eek::eek::eek:

LOL Sarah I know what you mean about this. We had to make a similar decision. Its so cheap but we just can't justify it!

Well have just booked flight to Barcelona for our Aug med cruise and one way for this WB TA. Keen to book return flights from Orlando but we will be flying with Virgin so will be a while before they are relased.

Would have loved to have done the Alaska cruises, but would like to cruise on the Dream, but as it looks like she will be in the caribeen and only shorter cruises looks like we may leave it for 2011 and see what 2012 brings with the final ship coming on line - Hawaii??!!

Hi Lorraine. Well done on the flights.

I think BA releases theres on Saturday!

BA flights are open up until the 18th September (not meant to be til Saturday) so just booked our flights to Barcelona - £150 for the 2 which isn't bad as time wise this is brilliant for us. We have the 8:10pm flight from Heathrow so don't need to leave here til 2pm to get there intime! Love it

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Congrats to all of those that have been able to get some of the new cruises. We would like to try the Alaskan run but after this cruise we will be knocked out of big trips for a couple years. Unfortunately, none of our relatives left fall into this catagory. Now there are always some we could do without by not worth the risk of being caught:rolleyes1
:dance3::dance3::dance3:
ooooo no

Cant you kill of a rich relative or something.

Howdy everyone,
had a minute so thought i would drop by to say hello.
Things are still hectic here, plus getting ready for our Nov cruise. After that I hope to be able to post more often.

Welcome to everyone new, since i have last posted.
Sounds like everyone is getting airfare finalised and ready to go!!:woohoo:

We are letting Disney do it all for this trip. It will cost us more but worth it since it will take away the stress of booking everything ourselves and we just dont have the time to do it this trip.

For those going to Alaska, have fun, but we are sticking with this cruise:goodvibes
14 days on the Magic beats Alaska anyday for us.
Someday we will do Alaska, it is on our to do list but not until retirement.

So you guys are stuck with us!

Got to run, need to call Dr about moms test results. They are sooo slow there sometimes.

Have a great day everyone,

Kathy

I've been using the WiiFit pretty regularly and today my BMI went from obese to overweight!!!!! :woohoo::dance3::cheer2: Dennis said this calls for a celebration. I'm thinking cake and ice cream!! :rotfl2::lmao:

I am glad that you are still sailing with us.

Right, I am officially on vacation. I took half a day vacation time today and after work went straight to one of the airport hotels. We have a Club Level Room and I am sitting in the Club Lounge drinking a juice drink that I really like, but would not buy as it is so expensive. DH is still at work and I hope that he is staying there a bit longer. It is his birthday on Tuesday and I got him a digital camcorder, which is currently charging in the hotel room.

I am so glad that everything is done now. I was getting so stressed that I was no longer looking forward to the vacation. Between stuff that needed doing at work and last minute preparations, I just did not think I would ever be ready in time. I finished off the last bits this morning, but now I can just relax and look forward to our big adventure. I only got around to getting my MNSSHP ticket yesterday. I can pick this up the same time as my annual pass.

On Saturday morning DH suddenly thought that he needed to think about excursions for our upcoming cruise. I was able to make our reservations in late June and he has shown zero interest in excursions so far. Suddenly with a week to go, he is talking excursions. I had booked a dolphin excursion for myself at Cozumel and the parasailing for both of us at Castaway Cay. Key West we are just going to do on our own and I had no plans for Grand Cayman. DH has now decided to come to Chankanaab with me via the Dolphin Observer Excursion and will just explore the park. For Grand Cayman we have now booked Boatswain's Adventure Marine Parkfor both of us.

I just did online check in for our flights and it said that our flight is overbooked and they are looking for volunteers to fly on a later flight. I have to discuss this with DH. If the compensation is good and they provide a hotel here, we might actually consider it. Last time we did this, we got free flights and were upgraded as well. As the ship does not set sail until Saturday, this would be possible provided they can guarantee to get us there on Thursday.

Fortunately my lucky star seems to be shining bright at the moment. Last month I had ordered a new Fish Extender and three pillowcases from Ebay. Two weeks ago I received the two pillowcases that I am going to give to the people who I have been given for Secret Mickey. As of today, mine and the Fish Extender still had not arrived. With half an hour to go, our secretary passed me a note from the post office that they are holding a package with a customs charge. So I quickly went up to the mail office. The item was not actually the package with the Fish Extender, but I spotted this sitting on a shelf. It was supposed to go out for delivery tomorrow. Fortunately they let me have it. I really love my new Fish Extender. Now I have to make a decision which Fish Extender to use as I have them both in my suitcase now.

There has been other news as well. My sister is pregnant. I am both very excited and a bit scared. She has a few health issues which could make a pregnancy interesting to say the least.

Right, I better get going. We will have dinner at a great Chinese restaurant here at the hotel and then we will get an early night. I might check in every now and again during our vacation as I have the laptop with me, but then again I might be too busy having a great time.

LOL I think that Alaska is off our itinerary for awhile. The trips are so expensive looking at other cruise lines

Kathy, Don't blame you letting DCL do it all. Were letting them do everything bar flights just cause we can use airmiles for the return leg so its easiest. 14 days definately beats Alaska! Hope your mums results were OK!

Aunty Corinna

Have a magical vacation and stay safe xxxxxxxxxx

Just looked at British Air. One way flights are out of sight (which I was expecting) $1630 US. Booking a round trip is $558 each way, but I can't book a 'fake' return at that fare just yet (your trip has to be longer than 7 days apparently). So it's nice to know that I PROBABLY could book RT at under $600 each way, and just not use the return ticket. AND that uses the non-stop Phoenix to Heathrow. I would have to depart on the Thursday night flight, as anticipated.

So, do we know when the next window of dates will open for BA?

.

We too are on the 20.10 out of heathrow on 17/9 for £150. We will be using points for trip back so got to be Virgin- have enough for upper class if we can get the seats.

Planning to do food and drink and possibly halloween horror nights at Universal - have done MNSSHP a couple of times, and love universal too so thought we may give it a try (although i am a wuss so not so sure really!)

Probably going home on the Tuesday evening flight as DH will need to get back to work on the Thursday - very excited now - with flights booked seems more real!
