We too are on the 20.10 out of heathrow on 17/9 for £150. We will be using points for trip back so got to be Virgin- have enough for upper class if we can get the seats.

Planning to do food and drink and possibly halloween horror nights at Universal - have done MNSSHP a couple of times, and love universal too so thought we may give it a try (although i am a wuss so not so sure really!)

Probably going home on the Tuesday evening flight as DH will need to get back to work on the Thursday - very excited now - with flights booked seems more real!

I know:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I've been using the WiiFit pretty regularly and today my BMI went from obese to overweight!!!!! :woohoo::dance3::cheer2: Dennis said this calls for a celebration. I'm thinking cake and ice cream!! :rotfl2::lmao:

Definitely a good reason for a celebration - you have done really well!:woohoo:

Right, I am officially on vacation. I took half a day vacation time today and after work went straight to one of the airport hotels. We have a Club Level Room and I am sitting in the Club Lounge drinking a juice drink that I really like, but would not buy as it is so expensive. DH is still at work and I hope that he is staying there a bit longer. It is his birthday on Tuesday and I got him a digital camcorder, which is currently charging in the hotel room.

I am so glad that everything is done now. I was getting so stressed that I was no longer looking forward to the vacation. Between stuff that needed doing at work and last minute preparations, I just did not think I would ever be ready in time. I finished off the last bits this morning, but now I can just relax and look forward to our big adventure. I only got around to getting my MNSSHP ticket yesterday. I can pick this up the same time as my annual pass.

On Saturday morning DH suddenly thought that he needed to think about excursions for our upcoming cruise. I was able to make our reservations in late June and he has shown zero interest in excursions so far. Suddenly with a week to go, he is talking excursions. I had booked a dolphin excursion for myself at Cozumel and the parasailing for both of us at Castaway Cay. Key West we are just going to do on our own and I had no plans for Grand Cayman. DH has now decided to come to Chankanaab with me via the Dolphin Observer Excursion and will just explore the park. For Grand Cayman we have now booked Boatswain's Adventure Marine Parkfor both of us.

I just did online check in for our flights and it said that our flight is overbooked and they are looking for volunteers to fly on a later flight. I have to discuss this with DH. If the compensation is good and they provide a hotel here, we might actually consider it. Last time we did this, we got free flights and were upgraded as well. As the ship does not set sail until Saturday, this would be possible provided they can guarantee to get us there on Thursday.

Fortunately my lucky star seems to be shining bright at the moment. Last month I had ordered a new Fish Extender and three pillowcases from Ebay. Two weeks ago I received the two pillowcases that I am going to give to the people who I have been given for Secret Mickey. As of today, mine and the Fish Extender still had not arrived. With half an hour to go, our secretary passed me a note from the post office that they are holding a package with a customs charge. So I quickly went up to the mail office. The item was not actually the package with the Fish Extender, but I spotted this sitting on a shelf. It was supposed to go out for delivery tomorrow. Fortunately they let me have it. I really love my new Fish Extender. Now I have to make a decision which Fish Extender to use as I have them both in my suitcase now.

There has been other news as well. My sister is pregnant. I am both very excited and a bit scared. She has a few health issues which could make a pregnancy interesting to say the least.

Right, I better get going. We will have dinner at a great Chinese restaurant here at the hotel and then we will get an early night. I might check in every now and again during our vacation as I have the laptop with me, but then again I might be too busy having a great time.

Corinna

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Have a wonderful time Corinna!

Hope to hear all about it on your return.

OMG - I am on the BA website and am getting a quote of £729 per person Manchester - Barcelona on 17/09/10 if I book a one-way flight !!! :scared1::eek::scared1:

However if I book a return - it will cost £94 for the outbound flight and £94 for the inbound flight which I wouldn't be using - total of £188 per person for a return flight.

Now can anyone explain the reasoning behind that! 2 flights for £188 and 1 flight for £729

Lets just say that I will be using easyjet for sure if that is the case!

BA flights are open up until the 18th September (not meant to be til Saturday) so just booked our flights to Barcelona - £150 for the 2 which isn't bad as time wise this is brilliant for us. We have the 8:10pm flight from Heathrow so don't need to leave here til 2pm to get there intime! Love it

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Did you book a one-way or a return? I am getting some very strange quotes!:confused3

Glad you managed to get an SPH. I think quite a few have changed around. Hopefully this will mean upgrades for people and reducing the prices lol
Yeah hopefully!
Our gty got changed to 5524 though- so now the other room is already an assigned room so that pretty much makes the chances of that being changed or upgraded completely nil. Right? Just gotta keep an eye open hoping for a 10 or 11 on deck 5, if possible at some point. Although I really don't wish for anyone to cancel this cruise though!

HI Lorraine - do you mind me asking who you booked with and how much? We are hoping to book as soon as we can and then I can do no more mind changing!:rotfl:
seriously....... yes these questions and now I'm freaking out that we can book flights already? I'm so unprepared for planning for this cruise- it's unknown territory for me (literally) LOL

Oh and I don't know if I've sent my info in for this cruise or not. I think I did a long time ago. But anyway we've changed to main dining instead of late. :)

Hi,

Upcoming Cruises:
Sailing to St Martin/Thomas – Oct 24, 2009
Booked 14-Night Transatlantic Westbound Cruise – Sept 18, 2010
Booked 6-Night Los Angeles to Vancouver Cruise – April 27, 2011

Just had a quick look at the BA site for ex Manchester. When you look one way it takes you into gatwick where you have to get a coach to heathrow, it is then quoting Club Europe class to Barcelona which is business class.

However, if you book Man to LHR it is £31-41 and you can then book from LHR to Barcelona for £75 pp!! Would suggest a call to BA direct to see if they can sort themselves out.

Ditto - we changed to main dining for this cruise - I found with the late dining that we were just wandering about aimlessly after dinner and at least with the main dining you can see the show after dinner and then take it from there. Gives you more time to enjoy the evenings. Plus with less ports to visit there will be less rushing back to get ready for dinner on the main dining, which was what made me choose the late dining last time - but we ended up rushing anyway to get to the show and we missed a couple of them.

It all seems a bit of a hassle with changing aircraft etc - if I can get a lift to the airport I will probably book Easyjet as it is so easy :goodvibes. if I have to take the car I can't book Easyjet as it flies from a different airport to our return flight.

decisions decisions decisions! :surfweb::surfweb:

After checking out the times it is not really a good deal to fly with BA for us - apart from having to change in London, we would have to pay £31 pp for the Manchester - London leg and £131 pp for the London - Barcelona leg as we want to spend the day before the cruise in Barcelona so would need a morning flight and it is only the evening flights which are £77 pp.

Looks like I will have to wait until more flights are released in November.

I really can't wait to get all my flights booked! Then I can start looking at hotels! :woohoo::woohoo:

Funny, I really like late dining, the decks are EMPTY after 5, you can have a quiet drink then contemplate to night ahead, not many little kids at dinner either.

:dance3: that will drive you nuts!

Just looked at British Air. One way flights are out of sight (which I was expecting) $1630 US. Booking a round trip is $558 each way, but I can't book a 'fake' return at that fare just yet (your trip has to be longer than 7 days apparently). So it's nice to know that I PROBABLY could book RT at under $600 each way, and just not use the return ticket. AND that uses the non-stop Phoenix to Heathrow. I would have to depart on the Thursday night flight, as anticipated.

So, do we know when the next window of dates will open for BA?

.

They told me its 350 days but they opened these up early so not 100% sure!

Lorraine - are you stalking me lol! Can't believe we've booked the same flights and I'm planning on using points for a Virgin flight back - although not got enough for Upper!

I still think there's a chance of an upgrade even with a room number!

Weird site lol! I never get why it quotes different classes. It should say in red writing "standard not available so club chosen".

Does sound like London might be a hassel for you so probably a good idea to do BA.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

this is what I am hoping for - and if I don't get an upgrade I will try and pay for one at the port! I ahve an upgrade fund but so far it only has £48.50 in it - so not quite a verandah yet!:rotfl:
