Please elaborate....:confused3

Maybe mail will be late in Texas...;)

Walt :cool1:

Just a letter thanking us for booking early and stating that each person in the stateroom will be getting $100 OBC. Nice! There is a thread about this, some CMs at DCL have evidently told folks that it is not for the TA cruises, just the Baltic and Med, but we have letter in hand and expect that DCL will honor their commitment. :thumbsup2

Angie, is your letter for the TA cruise?

Woody

Yes, Woody. That is the only one we are doing, it was booked first day, not moved from another booking, not following a Med. :thumbsup2

OHHHHH! Really? Nice $200 for us please! I would love that!

Quiet here today. :surfweb: So, who has received the "Thank You" letter from DCL with the $100 per person OBC gift? We got ours yesterday. :dance3:

Haven't got one yet. Hoping it comes our way though. I was reading about this mailing on the other thread. Here's some wishes that we all get it for sticking around.:wizard:

Angie, I'm glad you got the OBC.

Hopefully we will be just as fortunate.

Well....that's a lovely surprise. Lets hope that letter reaches the UK.

Oh dear - bad news for those flying with Globespan ..... looks like they have gone bust :sad2::sad2:

quote from UK website:

"It has just been announced that Glasgow-based airline Globespan has gone into administration. PriceWaterhouseCooper has been appointed as the administrators and a further announcement is expected soon concerning the collapse of Scotland's biggest airline.

This is a blow for thousands of passengers who have already booked flights with the airline who operates out of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast airports. The airline flies two return flights a week from Edinburgh to Geneva, so clearly this news will affect people intending to travel out to Geneva and onto ski resorts this winter with Globespan.

Anyone who has booked a flight directly with the airline may very well end up losing the money, unless the booking was made using a credit card in which case customers may be able to approach their credit card company for a refund. Those booking package holidays which includes flights on Globespan should be covered by their tour operator through ABTA."

Looks like I will have to get in touch with my credit card company and start looking for new flights

When did you book? We booked 10/14/08, is that "early booking"?

I'm waiting anxiously for my mail to arrive in the hopes of receiving The Letter. :lmao:

Me, too!

UPDATE
Mail just arrived - nothing here.:sad2:

There is now a statement on the Globespan website:

"Any customers who have booked a flight through Globespan Airways Limited operating as Flyglobespan are unlikely to be covered by the ATOL scheme.

Customers who have paid by credit card or Visa debit card should contact their card issuer in the first instance to determine whether they can claim a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and/or their insurance provider.

The Companies are unable to offer any refund to customers in respect of cancelled flights, holidays or accommodation."

Thanks Globespan for leaving everyone in the proverbial !:mad::mad:

I also booked onward flights from Edinburgh - Manchester which I will also lose the money from .... so it gets even worse :mad::mad:

Maybe time to change to a Med cruise which involves only short flights
