:wave2: Hi Everyone.

Just popping in to say hello to all of you. Been pretty busy so far this summer. We went on a short cruise on another cruiseline and I'll just say that DCL has the best service so far that we've experienced. Having been on a couple of Disney cruises first sort of raised the bar and the service certainly wasn't comparable. We breathlessly await the arrival of the Wonder here on the west coast.

One of the highlights of our trip was meeting up with MrsMork & DrHugg & their grandson @ DL. Angie & Dennis are wonderful people and Aaron is a nice & polite young man. We enjoyed meeting, eating and riding the Pirates with them very much. I hope we didn't dominate the conversation too much, but those of you who know them know that when you meet this wonderful couple, you feel like you have known them for years and are very comfortable telling them anything and everything! :rotfl: I can't wait to meet again.:grouphug:

We went ahead and got DL passes as we are going again sometime after July 21 and in October we are doing a 4 day trip. March 13 is one of our blackout dates:sad1: So I'll mark my calendar see what happens. That will be 6 months from our cruise date :woohoo: Final payments will be due soon thereafter, so we'll see.

We have season passes to several amusement places so the girls should be pretty much amused out by the end of their summer. They go back to school August 12.

Well, that's all I have right now. Everyone have a funtastic week.

Linda

Linda, welcome back.
We had a great time when we met Angie & Dennis too. They are so nice and welcoming.

Nice and sunny here today. Kinda windy though.
We had a great weekend at the beach and now I have to get back to the old routine again:headache: So hard to do after 2 short vacations in a row.

Anybody have plans for the 4th??:confused3

Too much traffic out there for me to go anywhere but to see family.

Later all, Kathy

Ok, time for a question of the week so we can save us from Davy Jone's Locker.

What are your plans for this weekend?

Here in the US its our Independence Day (July 4) which means a 3 day weekend for most, filled with BBQ and fireworks.

I will be traveling to Lake Tahoe for the weekend, using my parent's timeshare. It will be nice to get away, but I'm fearing the crowds. I've heard that it's already crazy crowded this week with the beaches filling up by 10am. :scared1:

I don't have any set plans. We'll probably rent some bicycles and explore the trails. Maybe attempt a drive around the lake. For the 4th there will be fireworks on the lake, but I don't think I'm going to brave the crowds at the shore. Our resort is pretty high up and there's a rooftop tennis court. I think we'll just try to view the fireworks up there.

Morning everyone,

headed for the 90's today. I miss my swimming pools on days like this:goodvibes.

I have been sitting here watching a doe wander around the field next to my RV. She has no fear of people yet. I hope she survives.
Last winter we had 5 deer and 2 got hit by cars and then we had 3 and now there is one. I dont know if the others just arnt showing up and have another area they are going to or if they are gone too.
I love watching them. Thye are so graceful.

well off to do the laundry today and work on 2 scrapbooks. I need to get all caught up before this cruise so I can do a book for this too, With 14 days it will be a BIG book compraed to most I have done.,:goodvibes

Have a great day everyone,

Kathy

We usually stay at home, eat and swim all day and head for the park/beach(lake) about 7 and watch the fireworks set the palm trees on fire:lmao:

One thing real nice about the park, there are tons of good places to watch the firworks.I just wish it was cooler... like 100 for the weekend.

Woody... while you're in RB... say hi to my FIL ! He lives on PCH. lucky duck!

See this is where us Brits miss out. Can't afford to do Disney this year if we want to do everything we want to do on the cruise next year. Even EuroDisney/DLP is so so expensive that it's not worth it (for 4 days there we could probably do a week in DW).

As for Scrapbooking I think I've done all mine now but might take a look on the weekend see if there is anything I can do.

we certainly do miss out - I am going to Disneyland Paris in 3 weeks to get my yearly fix but I know what you mean about the expense of it all - we managed to do ok with the 40% off deal but otherwise it's so expensive. Oh to live in Florida and have access to the parks and DCL!

Is anyone else finding time's dragging again? It was going quite quickly the last few months and now I'm getting to the point I'm going to kill anyone who mentions a holiday as mine's so far away! I feel like I've planned almost everything now and I'm just desperate to start booking things but know I can't. Anyone any tips on what to do to waste/speed up time?

It is certainly dragging - I keep hoping that by the time we get to that "year to go" milestone things will pick up again. Then I can help pass the time by making magnets and fish extender gifts - and not leave it until last munute like last time. I also want to upgrade my pirate costume so that should pass some more time. And I still have to scrapbook my last cruise!

Today it is time for my Double Digit dance for my next cruise on the Magic :yay::cheer2:party:

Corinna

Oooohhhh - I love a double digit dance :yay::woohoo::woohoo::yay:

Hi everyone :)

I haven't posted here in a long time (life's been quite busy!) and I'm not sure that anyone really cares one way or the other but I think we won't be going on this cruise afterall. DH and I have talked, and we're considering other vacations and trips, in place of this cruise. We haven't cancelled yet, but probably will by the end of the year unless we change our minds.

Anyway, I know this will be an excellent cruise and I know you'll all have fun! Have an awesome time! :sunny:

sorry to hear this - there's plenty of time to change your minds back again though!

Oh have people seen the new menus - lost the link so can't post over here. Im liking the fact each menu seems to have a trio of desserts on it! MMMMM

I had a look at that thread as well and love the new menus. Can't wait to try them.

Here in the UK, this weekend is like any other. However, due to some weird scheduling, I have 4 days off over the weekend. We have been down south to visit DH's family last weekend so there are no plans for this weekend other than doing our ESTA's and the online check in for our upcoming cruise.

We are headed to our beach house just outside of Ocean City, Maryland Thursday morning and coming home sometime Monday. We love watching the fireworks over the water while eating crabs. We will relax and spend time by the pool reading a book.

I am still recovering from the heart attack and although the stamina is slowly returning, I still have days that I get tired easily. I am hoping the cardiologist will let me start riding my bike again soon. I really miss it and prefer that to the walking I have been doing. I see her tomorrow and am definitely going to ask.

OK well as we're in the UK no 4th July things for us but we were planning on going to Silverstone for some motorracing. Now though I think with all this hot weather we can't be bothered so probably a quiet weekend at home.

Bummer! Guess I'll have to pack less clothes and more laundry soap!!!!

It's quiet here - I hope everyone finds the thread!

Yeh, like your SISTER! :lmao:

Haven't read all the pages yet, but thought I'd better check in before heading to the shower. I was SURE I had subscribed when the thread was created. :sad2:

June was spent focusing on the September vacation. There was organizing the WDW ARRs for our group of four adults, then booking them. Then there was the DCL Palo booking extravaganza. Then a week of helping Peg with her WDW ADRs and booking those for her while she was out of town. Whew....I was ready for a nap!

I'll catch up on all the posts this weekend.

.note to self...left off on page 7

Wow, $50 for a second checked bag on Aer Lingus!

Happy Canada day!

It's the sound of lawn-mowers and radios today, with all the working folk home doing yard work! We're hoping to catch some local fireworks (poor Toronto folks: everything is cancelled due to striking city workers).

It is sunny and clear here, and unseasonably cool and breezy (only 19 degrees right now celsius - that's what 70F?)

Day 2 of summer holidays for the kids. It's going slow for me :rotfl2:

Hey - anybody else booking airfare for their trip through DCL? We are as a plan B, and considering flying in a few days early and staying at a hotel as arranged through DCL. We're thinking the Hilton Diagonal Mar. Anyone else thinking about this option? We'll definitely need 2 rooms as we are 3 adults and 3 kids and it seems that the rooms are not North American-big with double beds or King bed. Most seem to allow a spare rollaway bed though...

Thoughts? The airfare quoted for us is a little less than 1k each, transfers in. Seems reasonable when airfare return from MCO to home is over 500 per person at the absolute cheapest...
