Welcome Aboard! :wave2:

I added you to the map, you can edit the marker with any extra information when you are ready.

I just added our pin to the map :)

I can't wait to meet all of you on the cruise. I know that we have almost 2 years and a cruise (7 day DCL) before that, but we've never been on a vacation that long. Can't wait to see what type of things they find for us to do on sea days.

Annette :)

Just added our pin to the map. Thank you for doing this.

Welcome aboard to all the new cruisers.

If anyone is in the mood for laughing, this is an hilarious cruise report from a first time cruiser: (though not for the weak stomached)

"What Happens on a Disney Cruise, Stays on a Disney Cruise? Right? Complete! 4/3/07!" by lovablegluttons.

She sailed with us on our Halloween cruise, although I never met nor interacted with her. But she definitely can write.

Also, totallyangelic (a fellow WB 2010 pirate) has most of her Halloween cruise + WDW report up.

Two different styles of writing, both could be professionals (well, they are; they are both RNs, but I meant paid writers). Doesn't matter if you've never met them, as DCL fans, you will understand what they have experienced, including the crying when you see the boat for the first time and the post-cruising depression when you have to put away your FE because your family fails to leave you those hourly gifts you are used to receiving.

Thanks Lynne for the compliments on my trip report although I don't think it is as good as all that! Unfortunately work (and kids using the computer) is getting in the way of any trip report updates at the moment. I hope all goes well with you, your sister and your nieces.

I am just off to investigate this map thing which everyone is talking about - although if it involves anything technical I won't have a clue!

TA Baby Boomers! :lmao: That would be great! :thumbsup2

I will keep you guys informed... You all have the very lucky distinction of going through the whole 9-10 months with me if it happens soon (of course, anything happens after Sept 2009 and we will have to cancel the cruise)! Aren't you feeling special? ;)

So cool. We followed along with a new member on our DD cruise and then all got to meet the little sweetheart on the cruise!!!

I would also recommend zweihund (Geeks go for broke!....). She is also a very entertaining writer. This TR is from our recent DD but you can probably find some of her earlier work too!!!!

Talk about setting the bar high? Starting with a 14 Day Trans shows true faith in the DCL Magic!

Welcome Aboard!:thumbsup2

Jackie that is the old map  , you should now have two "my maps" both made by others. Our old Dis Group and this map, with the longer title.

Someone mentioned being interested in what they do on the 5 sea days. I was busy the whole time with tours, dance lessons, trivia, brunches, movies, craft sessions, art lessons, Ducky Williams lectures, history lectures, Improv classes, talent shows, game shows... and it didn't seem like 6 days were enough.

THIS time, I am sitting on deck 4 for 5 days (sad it isn't longer), just watching the ocean and chatting with friends who stroll by. NOTHING. I'm doing nothing. I miss the ocean SO much and am hoping for the rocking seas of the first TransAtlantic. What a blast! Walking down the hall was hard enough, let alone trying to get to the front row of the WD Theater! Heals? HA! (Oh, and Scott and I had the most fun watching ladies in high heals--me included--trying to walk on Formal night. :rotfl: )

Fun times. This won't be the same cruise, but it will have its own fun personality.

I love Loveablegluttons! That is a good trip report! After cruise depression...just can't let tha thtought enter my brain...tooo painful. I remember actually !!CRYING!! with Chris and Rob (Scoobypop) on our last night. Two weeks on the ship and we weren't sick of it!

The map is so cool!!!
So don't be concerned if Int'l school turns out to not be an option. It will all work out.
Anna, thanks for the encouragement:thumbsup2 . I have always wanted to visit Norway--it looks so beautiful in photos and I actually love the film at EPCOT (old as it is). I know it is possible to have a great time in the local schools. I picked up SPanish very quickly and did just fine in high school in Spain. Like you brother, I did not have to take an extrea foreign language--I "helped out" in the English class. German school would be rough on Marika because she is such a perfectionist and because the two schools our friend has spoken with so far both insist Marika would have to take French and not use the time spent on a foriegn language to work on her German. Also, by her age the German schools have already split the kids into a higher level and lower level track from which they really can't move later. All that said, it WOULD be doable and I am sure the kids would handle any of it just fine--but the internatioanl school would be easier on all involved (and less liekly to balk at taking 2 week cruises across the Atlantic during the school year:rotfl2: ).

If I can figure it out (took me awhile:upsidedow ) ANYone can!

Well, Kel made it on the Local NEWS! Not for the best of reasons....but, I guess they say any face time is good, and if it get her a J.O.B.....more the better. Here's the link if you're interested.:happytv:

Thanks for sharing that. Kel certainly comes across as well spoken in the interview. I am sure it can only help in the job search. Funny, Dave is a plastics engineer as well. We moved to Michigan when he took a job at Key Plastics. Now he specializes in rubbers which act like plastics:confused3

I was busy and I plan on being busy (and Deanna I seem to recall you saying you were just going to sit and knit before the last TA--so yeah, I'll believe it when I see it:rotfl: ). We had dance classes, LOTS of games, deck parties and BBQs, the improv classes and Ducky lectures were big highlights, adult tiem in the Oceaneer's Lab, etc etc. Like the shorter DCL cruises there were always more good choices than time to do it all.

Goodness, Chris and Rob and I cry even at the end of a week long cruise--and after the TA--well it was a wellspring:rolleyes1

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! It sure is nice in here! ;)

Ah yes! Well, DH and I have done a 7 day one before just not a Disney one. And we have friends that have done a DCL (well they have done two of them) and will be going with us on this one!

Cute baby!

Awww! Thanks! :lovestruc
