hi everyone

for those interested the DIS unplugged podcasts do alot about disney cruses

one hint they said recently bring your own toilet paper as the paper in the rooms is poor.

Also is there anywhere on the ship you cannot take a camcorder can you take film of the shows ?

many thanks jay

OK I think from what I remember a couple of the shows you could film and some you couldn't. You can also photograph most of them. You used to be able to film more of them but not any more. We got told off in Boyz II Men for filming but they never said we couldn't so we got about 50% of the show before someone noticed!

Oh and appologies for the lack of posts over the last few days. It's been a bit of a mad weekend.

Dan brought his first motorbike on Saturday after passing his access course on Monday so had to go with him and his mum to pick it up and stuff.

Sunday it was mothering Sunday in the UK so Dan and me were going around his mums to have a meal (although she insisted on cooking). My mum went to a Cruise show in London (which disappointingly didn't have Disney there!) which is why we were spending the day with Dan's mum. Unfortunately Sunday morning Dan took the bike out for his first proper ride and at a junction someone rammed him up the back! It was the drivers fault but as Dan wasn't expecting it he dropped the bike on himself! Still he was OK just a bit battered and the bike we think (its having estimate done as I write this) is only cosmetic (indicator and rear fender damage plus dent in exhaust). Thank God it wasn't anything worse.

Meant we didn't have dinner until late though so didn't spend much time with Dan's mum but she still enjoyed it. Also meant I took yesterday off to make sure he got checked over for any damage!

We also went to the Cruise Show in London and had a great time, but I agree that it was a shame that DCL was not present especially as they do have a London office.

I hope that Dan does not feel sore for too long and that the bike can be fixed easily.

lol I dunno the Zen stuff you could do, and if you're like me you can justify that it is exercise lol

DW got me one of these for christmas, it seems to me that in both Yoga and the exercises you spend a lot of time on one leg so I'm thinking maybe extreme caution with a bad knee.

Can you imagine King Of The Dance pose on a rough day at sea.

Then there is the dangerous bit when the trainer says something like " as you exercise imagine your ideal body" I have to try not to smile when doing that else DW comes over and gives me a slap, very dangerous mid pose on one leg.

We spent the weekend in London, lovely warm sunshine, first of the year I reckon but today its freezing again, still spring is coming and our next holiday is not too far off now.

Re: TP - I do know people who bring their own, but honestly it wasn't that bad. Not necessary to take up extra luggage space in my opinion.

After using "melt in our hand" TP designed for an RV system for the last 4 1/2 months, I would love to have some of the DCL stuff!! :lmao::rotfl2:

I know what you mean Angie accept we have been a year in our RV. In June when we get home its Extra soft Charmin in every bathroom!!:lmao:

Hope you and Dennis are doing good. I guess we have a mutual friend. Deborah (SCOTTISHWEE35) from Scotland mentioned she knows you when she heard we were on this cruise. We have been chatting for about 3 years now, but never met in person yet.

Have a great week everyone,

Kathy

Thanks Corinna. He's a lot better now and the bikes damage seems minimal so all good!

Snap! We were there too! It's a small world isn't it.

Just a bump. Great weather out here! A little breezy but warm.:cool1:

Great day huh !!! We're just over the river, so we're a bit hotter and the pollin count is off the charts!:scared1:

Here's something...

About 3 weeks ago I called DCL to set our anniversary celebration. Great... the 2nd day at sea, it would be Tuesday. No big deal. A few days later, I got a typical DCL mail envelope. I was busy with the show, and set it aside.
Well... today I finally opened it up. Had to read it 3 or 4 times. Then called DCL, our new room
is a Cat4 cabin 8572.:cool1:
They gave me no reason that we were up-grated ... but we are!!!:woohoo: Anyone else up graded this early??? (This is really weird)

Ann :rolleyes1

Wow. Congratulations on that:thumbsup2

OK well I can't believe theyre doing upgrades this early on! Must be hoping to not have to lower prices just bump people and then get more people in at the lower Cat rooms! Guess it saves all the issues of people calling for discounts.

What Cat were you in? I can't remember?

Anyway will probably not get any mail of DCL for weeks (still haven't had the fuel surcharge letter) and can't check reservation in work so will have a look when I get home but I'm thinking prob wont have a change just yet.

Just out of curiosity, can Disney downgrade people once they've given them an upgrade? I hope not! :scared1:

Close , but if you be a true pirate you "TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!"

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Apparently DH has decided to be an environmental pirate :lmao:

.

I wish I had known this. We could have met up to say "hi" and have some coffee or something. Did you go on Saturday or Sunday? I think we really need to think about a UK/ European DIS Meet at some stage. I t would be great to put some faces to names before the cruise.

Congratulations on the upgrade. :thumbsup2

Sarah, I spotted staff rates for this cruise for the first time yesterday, but they seem to be very high and not competitive at the moment. I think we are actually paying less having booked directly with DCL on the first possible day then what they want as staff rates.

Our next big vacation is coming together nicely. The flights are now booked, the post cruise stay is sorted so we just need to sort out the pre-cruise stay. We are also seriously considering a short (5 night) cruise around the British Isles in May with NCL. Part of me thinks 5 nights is so short, but our two DCL cruises were 5 nights and 4 nights respectively.

Nice Upgrade Ann!!! I know you will enjoy that!:cool1::cool1:

We talked to our friend last night that works at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and he got axed due to layoffs. It was very sad. He has been with Disney for over 20 years!

By the way, I didn't forget about Dan and the motorcycle. Hope all is well with both!
