Bev,,,that sounds like fun. For me Saturdays in November work better.

I didn't have the greatest experience with onboard booking either. To Leslie's credit, when I visited her desk, the satellite was down, so she couldn't book anything. However I knew exactly what I wanted to book and gave her all the details. The only thing I didn't have with me was my Disney Visa and it was not the card that was on file. So I needed to call her with the card number. She couldn't remember her extension and ended up giving me the wrong one. Luckily I looked it up on the Navigator before calling. I left the card number on voicemail but when I got the cruise quote, she again asked for the card number. I left it again on voicemail since this was the last morning. I left the ship not knowing if I had a booking or not. I did receive an email from DCL on Sunday with a reservation number so I didn't question it further. Now you all have me wondering if my TA got listed because the email didn't mention anything and I haven't heard from them. Unfortunately DCL reservations are down right now so I can't check.

I would love to get together with everyone, but I would probably have to skip a November meet...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas during that month. LOL!!! However, I would love to join everyone at the next meet! :)

Just FYI- anyone who rebooked onboard.... make sure you actually got it booked!
We rebooked onboard 2 rooms for 2 dummy date cruises (4 rooms total/2 cruises total) and even got the paper with quotes and said it would be charged (deposit) to credit card. I'd also put on the form to list our travel agent on the bookings.

I got a call the following Monday (from Alexandria I think the name was? Not sure really) and she said the rebooking onboard were all messed up- some didn't go thru, some deposits charged to credit cards didn't go thru, and both those things happened to us PLUS our travel agent wasn't listed on either one :scared1: We only had one booking, credit card not charged deposit, TA not listed.... all messed up.

We got it taken care of, but I have to wonder how many might not even realize their onboard rebooking didn't really take place or won't finalize since deposit charge didn't go thru and also how many weren't done with TA listed as requested. So might wanna double check that... ASAP. I'm glad she called, but if the deposit charges hadn't shown up on my credit card pretty quickly I would have known something was wrong anyway.

Thanks for letting us know. Mine is showing on DCL site so I think I'm good.

I am now really pleased that I didn't rebook on the ship .... I am now finding prices online which are less than the ones I was quoted on the ship, even taking into account the booking on board discount. This happened to us last time aswell. :confused3:confused3:confused3

I still can't book anything until we know whether DD Taryn has got a place on the WDW college programme for summer 2011. That will dictate our plans for 2011, as if she gets it we will have to travel to Orlando to see her at some point. She has her first interview in about 2 weeks so all pixie dust you can spare would be useful :wizard:

Do we have a list of who is cruising when and where in 2011, just out of interest :thumbsup2

Sarah hopefully she'll get September next year cause thats when they do a large in take. We are on the 30th October Dream (Halloween). Oh and we saw you and Tony in Magic Kingdom at Splash Mountain on the 2nd but couldn't shout loud enough for you to hear us (we were up at the railway station waving like nutters)

Do check- online or with your TA.
My TA said a bunch of his repeat guests didn't have him listed on their reservations even though they'd ask for him to be listed on the reservations as they always do, just like we always do--- and now he's wondering how many others listed him -perhaps for the first time (since many of us recommend our TA to others if they rebook onboard/etc.) don't have him listed on the reservation and might not even realize it. Those people may think the TA is doing nothing for them when the TA isn't even listed on their booking. :sad2:

We have arrived safely back in the UK yesterday morning and then pretty much slept for 24 hours straight with short interruptions for eating something and going to the bathroom. We were flying back standby, but were able to check in online in the morning. I was more than a little relieved once I had my boarding passes in my hands. Graham was very ill on the flight home, but is basically back to normal now. Looks like he had some 24 hour stomach bug.

The transfer from the port to WDW was a complete shambles. We did not get to Bay Lake Tower until 12:30. For some reason they did not have enough buses and once we were finally on our way, we stopped at 5 different resorts before we got to Bay Lake Tower. I so wanted to meet up with Candida, Jon and Jason, but by they time I got to Magic Kingdom, they were long since gone. Still, we had a great time at Bay Lake Tower and our room was ready when we got there as well.

Post-vacation depression has definitely set in here, but there is no better remedy then planning the next vacation. I rang DVC Member Services earlier today to book a studio for the night before the Panama Canal cruise. To my immense surprise, the only thing they had available was a standard view studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House), so I took this. I also managed to get a reservation for Sanaa for that evening.

Corinna

We had a similar issue with the buses! We were on the last bus to leave and got to the hotel around 1:00pm I think it was.

Something different but when we left Orlando there was on the news a story of a guy who was killed by a jetskitrip. And they were looking if his wife had to do whit it. Is there some news?

Connie

I think this is the pirate story. A guy was out jet skiing on a lake between USA and Mexico with his wife. The guy was shot at by a group of pirates and fell into the water. The wife sped off for help as she couldn't reach him to pull him on to the jet ski. There were issues with the search for him due to the fact that the lake is on the boarder between the two countries. There have been issues with Pirates here previously. Here's what I've found:

hi

i am still in disney world

i will use yahoo groups to blog my cruise and disney world holiday

i keep seeing fellow cruise ship members which is cool

jason

Jason, sorry we didn't meet up with you in Magic Kingdom on the 2nd but there was a nightmare with the buses getting back from PC! We tried looking for you when we got there but it was almost 2pm and we were meeting at 12 so hope you didn't wait too long!

Well......home at last! What a truly memorable holiday....in more ways than one! After getting diverted to Madrid on our way out to Barcelona...our Virgin AL flight home on Thursday was cancelled! Spent 24 hours at the airport in Orlando and was thoroughly fed up!:sad2:

Still, it can't take away our utterly fab cruise....and it did mean we got to fly home with Sarah (Gizmo) & Dan :rotfl2: (who were very surprised to see us on their flight)

Thank you so much to everyone who made my cruise so special....to old friends and new, I really did find some kindred spirits

....but most of all a massive thank you to my lovely husband for booking this great cruise, and for working so hard to pay for it! :rolleyes1

I'll be back on when I've had a little sleep............:thumbsup2

:littleangel:

I think surprised was an understatement Mandy! Miss you guys already! Oh and my Dad was working in Heathrow but is going to have an ask around when he goes back tomorrow RE Ruby Tuesdays flap issue

Hi everybody...it was great meeting you. Gary and I had a fantastic time on the cruise. We also had a great time at WDW. Too bad we didn't meet up with more of you. We arrived home last night. Dog was soooooooo glad to see us. This was one of the best vacations ever!!

Glad you had fun! So nice meeting you and doing Desperate Shipmates with you!

Oh so that's why I didn't end up on the navigator? LOL
:rotfl2:
I was wondering...
That's what I deserve for not keeping up with the thread!
Still want to thank you all for all the work on the navigators and Sue also for having a copy printed for me already- it came in very handy in numerous ways throughout the trip. :)

Sorry I had a feeling that a few people were missing from my list!

Really must say a huge thank you to the Pomegranate FE group for their amazing gifts. What talent some of you have.

It was great meeting many of you, but I missed some of you. Gismo Sarah, I never met you, though I said hi to Dan and thanked him for the Welsh cakes which were gorgeous!

Too slow on my iPad to write much at a time. Will keep popping on though.

LOL sorry Marilyn! I turned around when I got to the room and realised Dan wasn't with me. By the time I'd dumped the bags he had made it to the room and said he'd run into you! He was so glad that you liked the Welsh Cakes! He'd never made them before so it was a big deal for him so thanks for that! I'm sure well cruise together again!

OK finally caught up and last load of the washing is in the machine.

We had a fantastic time and thanks to everyone who made our holiday so special! There are so many of you that I just can't believe I didn't even see on the cruise but those I did made it even more special and hopefully those I didn't aren't offended that we didn't catch up with you.

We had a wonderful time in WDW too going on all the rides and enjoying the sunshine. Today in South Wales its sunny and fairly warm but coming in on Saturday to cold rainy weather was a shock to the system.

The only downer regarding our holiday was the baggage issue in Port Canaveral. When we got to WDW we unpacked one case to move stuff around and found that my DCL Beer Stein was smashed into around 40 peices and my Pirate Night light up glass was crushed along the bottom. One of the Castaway Club champagne flutes was also cracked down the middle. So not happy and can't get a clear answer from DCL as to whether I can claim for this or just for the cases. DOES ANYONE KNOW? The case isn't damaged and so can't claim for that.

Anyway everything else made it back in one peice so all good. Just waiting on food shopping now which is due any time.

That's not good Sarah!:sad2: we were lucky that our rum stayed in one piece!;)

The last of our washing is now on the go (at last) but I do have the ironing mountain to tackle some time..........I missed most of the morning as I can't stop sleeping!:rolleyes1

On a brighter note I did somehow manage to only put on 4 lbs which is a bit of a miracle after all the drinking and eating......:rolleyes1 Hopefully that'll go again once I'm back at the gym!

It's sunny here today too, but I soooo miss the Florida/caribbean temperatures...........I could just do with popping into Quiet Cove cafe now for one of their lattes and a chat with my shipmates........:grouphug:
