I was wondering what Carnival was getting for doing this. I knew what the cruisers got, how disappointing though. I'd go crazy if my cruise got canceled.

I imagine that would be a hard choice to make about going somewhere else or going and living on a cruise ship. Are the ships staying at dock or are they going to anchor them at sea? If so, what if there is an emergency on board, how would you get someone off? I love crusing, but I don't know about living at sea for several months, especially when I could work temp jobs and be able to get back on my feet quicker.

Hello and welcome to all the newcomers. Michelle, I can't believe it is already time for you to leave. Like Jen said, it makes it that much more real that the time is almost here.

Thanks to all for remembering me and my woes with my dog. She is not any better but we don't expect her to get better. She is just old and time is finally catching up with her. Hence the reason for having to put her down before the cruise. I was just telling Steve at lunch that I am excited for next Thursday when we leave yet hesitant for time to pass causing Mocha's time to run out. But I keep telling myself it is the best for her.
I promise I won't be a downer on the cruise.
Hope all are having a good week, especially you Lisa. (a better week anyway)

Just had lunch with my wonderful wife and she mentioned that we are going on a cruise pretty soon and we should start getting some things ready. Not sure what that is all about. So when is this cruise thingy supposed to be anyway....

Not sure if any of you remember, but I promised a drink to the one who lost the most weight and, I will live up to my end but it has been a long time since anyone has chimed in on that deal so I just might have to drink it myself, of course you all are welcome to join me....

One day a week of working from home isn't enougth time to get all my personal things done I still ran out of time and did not do any work...good thing I got it all done yesterday...and I will have to work harder tomorrow

DS(15) is out mowing his lawns trying to get $$ for vacation DS(3) got his new backpack in the mail today with his name embroidered on it...he has not taken it off his back since he opened it He is very excited about starting pre-school next week.

Hellloooooo! I am here! I have just been so darn busy. DNana and my DGF came to visit over the weekend. For a 91 year-old he's doing great. We had fun but were busy. And then my little DD4 decides to HOG the computer for HOURS ON END. She needs her own computer!!!!! Or maybe I need a new one!

Work is crazy. I was working until 10pm last night and I started at 6:30am. I agree with you Brad - imagine - actually having to WORK for that paycheck.

Welcome to all the newcomers. This is a really fun group.

I now have yet another shirt up for grabs. Medium golf shirt. The medium is just slightly small for a typical medium. I am beyond being able to mail anything but will bring it on the cruise (along with the other two already spoken for). When are we planning on wearing the shirts?

I can't believe the cruise is so close. My DB leaves in just SEVEN DAYS to come to Florida. I, of course, have to work up to the last minute and we aren't even leaving until embarkation day. Just as well since I haven't packed a thing! Oh well, I hope to figure it all out this weekend.

And now an update from your early warning center (DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU ARE SCARED ABOUT HURRICANES): Tropical Storm Ophelia seems to be running in circles right around Port Canaveral. It isn't expected to even budge for 5 days and, in fact, the forecast track has it doing a nice little loop-de-loop like Hurricane Jeanne did last year. No way to know what it'll do (the 5 day cone looks like a big circle instead of a cone - which means it could literally move anywhere). I will keep you posted, especially as we start to get nearer or if it moves rapidly far away and isn't a threat.

Back to fun and games:

WE DID OUR DOOR SIGNS!!!! DNana and I spent hours on the computer Sunday and Monday completing all of our door signs. WHEW! It was soooo much fun.

Oh well - guess I better get back to work/dinner. I've had five calls just during this email!

So does anyone know what one has to do to ensure that a birthday is recognized at dinner? JD's birthday is the 19th, and we would LOVE to have them sing to him and embarass him, etc...(Of course HE wants nothing to do with that!)

Well Lisa K, I offered the free drink many months ago when it was brought up by someone other than myself to have a little competition on who could loose the most weight. As a little incentive to help out I offered the free drink, and some people kept up with it for a month or so and then it just fizzled out.

Hi All-

Christal, I would just say something to your Server the night before you want to celebrate. If they have the birthday noted in your reservation, the Servers should have it marked- but I would remind your Server, just in case.

I found out today we FINALLY moved off the waiting list and we now have Main Seating. . Maybe now I can get some work done at my office and I don't have to do my hourly email monitoring. Then again, now I have more time to do some more Internet shopping for the trip...

My DH and DS are both so grouchy if they have not eaten by 6:30 p.m. ha
One year when we all went on vacation, my MIL had our nicknames put on shirts and both of theirs was "When do we eat?"

Tomorrow I get to do my Document Dance, I have been tracking them via UPS.

Those who are going on the Lord Sheffield cruises- did you have to put a credit card or deposit down or anything? They didn't ask me for anything, but I wanted to make sure.

Does anyone know if we can get the network channels on the ship? Maybe we can have a Survivor Party on Thursday, if we can get it in. ha

Is anyone watching Rockstar INXS? My DH and I are hooked. I so want Marty to win!

Pam, Nothing to Lord Sheffield yet. I am just getting money order or travelers cheques. Yea on main seating of course you must get there before 6:30 because we don't do grumpy! I love survivor. and where is Jenny, our resident reality show quees (you know it 's true)...like I am soooo much better. Just don't watch as much in the summer (or any at all for that matter, but come fall....you should see how much we are tivoing for that week (we are gone for two weeks and all the shows start while we are gone)

Did I mention how much I hate cleaning! And to make matters worse, I just remembered I have a 7 oclock meeting so now I have to go and take a shower. POOR POOR ME!

Hey all, I have been lurking and reading but not posting. You all have been so busy.

Pam I too am going on Lord Shefields... no money yet to them. They said when we board.

Sue, this Ophelia lady is not a good thing for us. That means lots of rain and yucky weather around us. Guess I can't work on my tan before the cruise. I would do the spray on however I am afraid of turning orange. There is something about that natural sun tan, you know the natural cancer killing ball in the sky.

I can't believe we are almost at the end of this week with one to go. WOW. I am jumping for joy now that I have all the outfits and stuff worked out for the cruise. I even found a pretty lime green top to wear to Palo's. Gotta love bright colors.

Well I am sitting here enjoying my quiet.. DH is sick in bed, DS and DD are already asleep. I have told them they have to stock pile their sleep hours for the cruise. DS 3 actual believes me.

Almost forgot,,,, WELCOME to all the NEW cruisers. I wish you could have joined us earlier. Doesn't really matter bc everyone on board makes you feel like family

Yes! I did return the shirts - TWICE! They told me to "just keep" the old ones. I replaced one shirt once and another shirt twice - all for no charge. So... that's why I now have an extra size Medium golf shirt. Karen is already taking the extra XL golf shirt and Medium Junior Tee.

TIVO is awesome! I've been trying to setup all the news shows but my Tivo only goes out to the 18th and everything starts after that. The power of TIVO. Nothing like going for a one week vacation during premiere week - and knowing I won't miss a thing!

Right before I read this post, I was trying to figure out what to wear on my birthday bash - and now I have the outfit! Now - what shorts to wear....

If our cruise leaves from Port Everglades - PARTY AT SUE'S HOUSE! I only live about 15 minutes from the port, so I will gladly help out as best I can. I have a dinky house, but it's got a swimming pool and it's close to the beach.

Sounds like Disney is trying to get everyone to have the cruisers go to Port Canaveral first for busing down here. What a pain! I certainly wouldn't drive 3-4 hours to Port Canaveral to get bused back to wear I started from!

Ooooh - I just thought - this means I can go and see the Disney Wonder tomorrow!!!! How exciting! I'll have to drive back from work that way just so I can show it to Christina! WOO HOO!!!

How did I come to be the resident reality show watcher? Just because I've "occasionally" watched Big Brother, Survivor, So You Think You Can Dance (only when nothing better is on), Amazing Race (same answer as before), Real World, Road Rules, Real World/Road Rules Challenge, The Apprentice, Average Joe (again, only when nothing better is on), Made, Extreme Home Makeover, Super Nanny, Nanny 911, Brat Camp, Fear Factor (nothing better on...), Hell's Kitchen.... all that warrants me that title? Strange......

Guys, please cheer me up about this cruise. I know I need to think positive, and I'm trying! But I'm bummed about potential changes. Yes, we'll be on the ship, yes, we'll get to go SOMEWHERE - but I want to cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuise to the Caribbeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. (ultimate whiny voice here). DSis chastised me for being down - "I'm finally excited and you're not, and I'm going to get irritated with this attitude." WELL! Just please, please say prayers that we get the same kind of the group did last year when they had a wonderful cruise between two hurricanes! I want everyone to be spared more bad weather in the South, and I want us to get to go on our cruise!

Okay, I think I'm done.

I definitely don't count for having lost weight - I think I count for gaining the most since 2002. Someone pass me the cake...... (aghaghaghaghag - Homer Simpson drooling).

Lisa, hope your son feels better and your car runs great. I think I need mine fixed, so pass the this way!

People who work every day (read: more than this intern) - you definitely need a vacation! I hope for your sake (although for my own as well) the storm dies or heads for the middle of the ocean and DIES there!

Oh no, can hurricanes stay around for weeks? You are scaring me. I only have six more days of work and a week to find out any information on where my exchange student is going to be staying. The organization keeps ducking me and I want answers and not one day before we leave. I am becoming attached to him now, if I would have known I would have been attached to him so quickly I would have bought him a ticket and let him go too. He was depressed today, I think today was a day he was homesick, poor kid. Well, I'm off to bed now.
