I just want to let you know, just in case I haven't already that I need two(2) cabin(door) signs. I don't know how many names will be on it but if possible I would like mine to read David,Deege or DJ. I have a friend travelling with us also his name is Joe. Ok i'll check when I get off tonight, have to get a nap for work,, work hours 5pm until 1:30am, 12:30pm now.

11 Days and Counting Down Every Minute...

Hi Everyone, It is almost time, almost time! Thank goodness this is a 4-day work week (for most of us).

That was good to know about tipping at Palo- I assumed the service charge covered tips. We talked to our Room Attendant on our last cruise and she told us that she is the one that ALSO delivers all your luggage to your room, too. We tipped our Room Attendent even more upon hearing that, I always assumed it was the Porters. She was just a tiny little woman, too- but she could make some mean towel animals!

I am going out to buy green yarn today after work.

I do feel sorry for the people whose Carnival Cruises were cancelled for the next few months to help out the hurricane victims. I was holding my breath that Disney was going to announce the same, but I think we are safe since they just have the 2 ships and Carnival has such a large fleet of them.

Here in Missouri, they are preparing to house some hurricane refugees in the building directly next door to my office. It was formerly used as a Correctional facility and they are working feverishly to get it ready. They hung a new sign over the Correctional facility sign to say: Regional Reception Center. I have all kinds of activity to watch outside my window today- many News trucks outside.

We are still anxiously awaiting our cruise documents, also.

My boss thought that I was starting my vacation this Friday...I WISH!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is a 'work at home' day for me...and since I am caught up on all my work again, I will not have much to do!!!!!!!!! Gotta like that! I probably should take the time to start getting things ready for vacation since my next 'work at home' day will be busy running DS(3) back and forth from pre-school! He starts a week from today. He is very excited! He got up this am and said 'Am I going to School today'...I said not until next week. THen he said 'Are we going on a cruise today'...I again said not until next week! I think he will be over-whelmed by the time we leave next week! Kids are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!

DS(15) is mowing 6 lawns this week! He keeps spending all of his $$...now he has realized that he needs $$ for vacation! I told him that he had to bring his own $$. I will of course be giving him some...but he does not need to know that

Trisha, I keep meaning to say this but forget... I'm so sorry about your dog. Obviously (from my sig line), I'm quite attached to my own little guy, so that's such a hard decision. I will pray for strength and peace for you about this.

Very productive AM - went to walmart, drycleaners, pharmacy, post office, hardware store (garage door opener issues), clerk of courts (adoption stuff), carwash, lube shop for an oil change.... whew! Busy morning. I also vacuumed. I feel productive. Where's the smilie flexing his muscles?

Just got back from the North Pole....It is a amusement park in Colorado Springs designed like Santas Workshop. It is fun for the kids. The roughest ride there is like the scrambler or the tilt a whirl. I don't do spining/hurling rides but I rode a few with my girl friends daughter (because the mom is such a wimp)...then I rode the ferris wheel...OMG! I could hardly contain my panic. You know rationally you are safe but everytime you stop you are swinging in this little seat 70 feet off the ground (I don't know how high) TERRIFIED! Thank goodness it started lightninging(??). We all had to get off, darn. I kept saying to the kids....Don't move at all!

Jenny, I forwarded you a PM from Linda....let me know if you don't get it. Thanks for the info on Plutojudy (Jenny talked to her and she said she had to cancel...We'll miss you!)

Deege, It is probably to late to order shirts. They take a goooood week to get to you. You can make them though. I sent you the iron ons. You just go to Walmart or Michaels and buy some iron on printer paper...print it out and iron it on a cheap shirt (Walmart again). They turn out real well....I'm sure you could print it at Kinkos if you don't have a inkjet printer. or maybe officemax I don't know if you can put a rush on the shirts you order or not. Tammy, I got cheap green yarn at Joanne's. Do you have that there/ It is a fabric/craft store.

Are the people who lost the ship (Carnival) the ones who were supposed to cruise out of New Orleans....i just keep wondering what kind of shape the ships will be in without all the work the staff does normally to keep up on it.
i talked with Gina for two hours last night. They are doing well and actually expect to have power by the end of the week (35 minutes outside of Biloxi). She is dying with out airconditioning! I can't imagine (esp in that heat!)

Overcast and rainy here today. You have to love days like this every now and again.

Less than 2 weeks..whoo hoooo!!!

I have not been on the computer over the long weekend so it took a while to catch up. Hope all are well!

DD(1) is cracking me up with all her new words and expressions. It was fun to spend a loon weekend with her and just look forward to a whole 7 days with her and Mickey and friends!

DH went to Walmart and picked himself out a couple Disney ties. He was so excited about them...and this is a man that NEVER dresses up! I don't think I have seen him in a tie other than formal nights on a cruise ships since we got married. For that reason alone we will keep crusin...lol. I am hoping we get a good Christmas Card picture on one of the formal nights!

Trisha, hope you are doing well. I know how hard that decision can be. I had to make that decision with my cat who was my main companion for 15 years. I got her when I first got out of College. I made my DH (Fiancee at the time) take her to the vet because I just couldn't do it even though I knew it was best for her due to her health. Anyway, I know it is not an easy decision and my thoughts are with you!

Hi to all!! Just thought I would check in. Was a beautiful day here in NC - breezy with and 80.

Wendy - Just to let you know - went to Wal-Mart today and purchased a can of the "Airbrush Legs" by Sally Hansen and it really works!!! NO MORE WHITE LEGS!!! They don't exactly look like a natural tan but at least they're not white!!

Deege - I ordered the FFC T-shirts and received mine within a week. Just in case you want to try.

Trisha - will pray for you and your dog. My poodle is like a child to DH and I.
I did have to make the same decision a few years ago. I can understand your pain.

Hello everyone!

My family and I will be joining you all in just 10 short days. I can not contain my exitement I wish I had found this thread sooner so I had the opportunity to be a part of this close, fun group. I have read so many pages of this thread, but finding it hard to to keep all the information straight.

I will tell you a little about my family... I am 34, DH (jeff)is 37 and I have a DS, Justin, who just turned 8. This will be our second Disney cruise. We also sailed the eastern caribbean in 2003. This cruise was a last minute decision... Allseas sent an e-mail w/ FL res. rates and somehow I talked my DH into booking ( I promised I would not buy any new clothes ). We booked a cat 9 gty and we were upgraded to room #6148. I am so excited about the Varandah This will be my first cruise w/ one and I can't wait to enjoy it.

Looking forward to sharing in the excitement for the next ten days.
