Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

I don't thinkit matters,long or short, they are going into unsure places and risking themselves to protect us. So I want to thank him and also you having to do things on your own while he is gone. Thank you! :love1:

Lorra

I agree with Lorra..Long or Short THANK YOU's need to go out to them one and all. My DH is retired but I've been there ladies, my heart and prayers are with you.

~~~~~~~~GOD BLESS THEM ONE AND ALL~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
:wave: :rose: :flower2: :flower1: :grouphug:
Hi all. Lorra, I'd call, like Jen says and if/when you don't get satisfaction, get full names, where they are located and US Air's address for customer service. The airlines are so tight these days and running so far in the red, it's hard to get satisfaction unless you travel one of the solvent carriers. The only one I know of is SW...My DH is actually better at this than me b/c he used to travel over 100K air miles per year. So...he has lots of secret numbers, but they were mostly for the old TWA. At least we were able to fly 1st class to Hawaii and London back then. Today -- no way. Anyway, I'll ask him his thoughts on the situation.
OK -- fun gifts for the kiddos. I'd bring easy simple things to pack on the way back, too. Mickey coloring books and markers or cool T shirts. I'm hoping that, like last year, DD is so enthralled by Disney's magic, that I don't have to fuss with special gifts. Maybe get him a pirate costume for pirate night or something fun like that. For the 10 yo's, frisbee or kadima for the beach?
Oh, gotta run. Be back soon.
Hello All!
Guess what......a new picture is posted!!!! KSU Mom sent us a picture of her entire family (husband and four kids). Check it out. Pictures are rolling in, you don't want to be the only one without a picture, do you? Now I am sounding like DIS spam!
Well, nothing to excited today. I got my hair done so I no longer look like a skunk. Much better!
Tammy, it sounds like you have it all thought out but Shirley (a perfect gift) will put whatever you want in the basket...even if you don't see it. You can call and chat with her and get ideas and she will design it for your needs. If you are still vascillating.
Lisa K. (10 yr ann)...what's going on? Where are you? idso191 and Frank and Lola....join in the fun! Chat with us.
Paul, is your wife coming home earlier or are you meeting her in Orlando. I just ask because you said you were getting in at noon and she was later. How exciting for all of you who are going to see your spouses after a long absence. Donna and Paul, are they staying home then or re-deploying?
I hope he will be staying home for awhile but you never know what the Navy has planned! My ds is an old 10, he will be 11 in Oct. My hubby called tonite so my ds was sharing all of his cruise excitement with him. That is all he talks about as the time grows closer. -Donna
Hi guys,
Well, I worked today. Had a pretty good day. Tomorrow I have clients scheduled back-to-back from 10 to 4. Yuck. Not even a lunch break! Of course, I'm half expecting at least two of them to no-show. It's just a long time to sit without a break.
I cleaned out my closet tonight... that's always such a humbling experience. Oh yeah, that shirt I HAD to have... worn it twice. I found a $36.00 shirt with the tag still on! Yikes! I think I bought it a year or more ago. Gonna try to take it back tomorrow and see what they say.
I think that's all from me. Have a good night!
Jenny
Evening everyone!
Half way through the week and on to the weekend.
Not much going on, just thought I post real quick to say hi.
Later everyone,
Emily
Is there anyone else staying near the airport? I have narrowed it down to either the Hyatt at the airport or Embassy Suites? Has anyone stayed at either of these before the cruise? I have also been trying to figure out what time the buses start running to the port...wanna get there early!! -Donna
Donna, we're staying at the Embassy Suites Friday night. They have a free shuttle service to and from the airport. We are going to try and catch the first DCL transfer that morning. I think it leaves around 10, but I think we are going to head to the airport around 9 or so.
Tia,
My family and TeaforWendy's family are staying at the Hyatt at the Airport on Friday night. We both booked our rooms thru Hotwire.com for about $ 60/night + tax which is great considering the regular cost is $ 189/night. You take a gamble with Hotwire because they do not tell you the hotel name until after you paid for the room but when we booked about 4-6 weeks ago, we figured out that the Hyatt was a 3-1/2 stars with no shuttle bus (don't need a shuttle since you are at the airport already)
and it was the #1 choice with "best value".
I just took the liberty of trying Hotwire and I got the above requirements which matched my Hyatt reservation for $ 65. Good Luck but please attempt this stunt at your own risk.
Hi everyone! I worked tonight and I work tomorrow night then on Friday we are going to Clementine Park in NJ. Did anyone hear about it? I got free tickets from my work. I checked it out, the tickets were about 30.00 a piece and I got 15 of them free so we could actually go again in August if we wanted to. We are going to pack lunches so we don't have to pay for food. The whole day will cost me gas money to get there so it should be nice. They also have a water park inside of the amusement park so my kids will probably love it. We are even taking some of their friends with us so they have someone to hang around with. They were bugging us to take them on the cruise with us, I think they think the cruise was free or something. Geesh!
Well, everyone have a good day tomorrow. All of my kids have dentist appt. so I plan on being at the dentist for ten hours tomorrow and then I have to work at four so I may not get a chance to check in until Friday night after we get home from the park so everyone stay safe and have a good week!
It is about 20 minutes from my house. It's a smaller amusement park - can't figure out why its so expensive. Anyway there is a waterpark as well. Be prepared for nutsyness. It's usually packed during the summer and weekends. I must admit, I compare everything to WDW so i'm a bad one to answer about the park. I do remember going when I was little and I have fond memories. It has the usual rides - Buccaneer Ship that swings back and forth, swings, log flume, a little train that rides around the property. The last time I was there (last summer) the roller coaster was closed for renovations, but i've heard it's open now. The park is in the middle of Clementon so there's plenty around if you want to leave and grab a bite to eat. If you do bring your own they have a large pavillion with picnic tables you can put your stuff. I think the kids will have a blast. Make sure your post after your visit!
Tia,
We are staying at the Hyatt at the airport. We as well paid around $60, what a deal. If you want more details send me a private message and I can help you with the hotwire thing. Busses start running to the port even as they bring the others back from the previous week! Last year we took the bus, because it was free, and the driver told us that he picks people up as he drops off. That was at 8:00 in the morning!
The other perameter you can look for on hotwire is that there is NO laundry facility, as well as no shuttle and 3 1/2 stars.
Hello everyone else........we are hitting busy season at our house. Hope all are doing well.
Have not had time to read all the posts but I did catch the talk about thanking the men and women who protect our country. I whole heartedly agree. To quote Brad a while back ..........."as Gomer Pyle would say 'thankyou, thankyou, thankyou' ".........you know Gomer was a United States Marine, so I find that so fitting! lol The casualitites have been pretty close to home this week, so our hearts are a heavy, and our prayers are frequent.
Have a good weekend everyone,
Missy
Good luck.......play the game it worked for all of us! Small gamble for a good deal. Let us know what you decide.
Donna, I also sent you a PM.
Missy
Missy, Good to hear from you. We have missed you! Is it busy season because you are heading back to work and the kids are going back to school? Tell me what it is you do. I am gathering it is something at the high school, but not a teacher. Am I close?
It is a wonderful, gloomy rainy day here. I love it because I don't have to leave the house! :umbrella: My dad is coming over to help me with the computer and to take me wireless on my other computers. Now that I am an ipod widow, my husband thinks he gets time on my computer!!! The Nerve!
Lorra, Have fun at the parks if we don't talk with you before.
Donna, You should check out the Hyatt. I think you can feel pretty confident that you will get it on that site....Missy found that great deal and told John who booked it successfully and told Wendy who booked it successfully....sooooo it should work! And,in case of bad wind and rain, there will be a lot of you there to figure out what is going on.
Jennat........our High School has a grant to facilitate Small Learning Communities (i.e. team teaching). I am the facilitator (aide) for that program (i.e. do whatever they need). Pre-children I was a social service coordinator for a local headstart program...not much different, the kids are just older. Well, my parents at head start were about the same age as my students now. I do some small group tutoring, clerical work, lots of encouraging and endless hours of being an "all-around" helper. My position will change a little this year as money has decreased and we have gone from 3 positions to ME only. I have applied to get my masters as an Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate (Special Ed), so I am holding my breath to start that as well this fall. Once more biting off more than I can chew sometimes. I also have taken another part time gig teaching a community education class. :earseek: In my head I just hear "need more money, must take more vacations, need more money, must take more vacations!" :earseek:
Yes.......busy getting in all those things that we said we would do with the kids this summer and haven't done yet! Anyone fall in that same catagory? Gotta run for swim lessons! Last one today :banana: .
Have a good one,
Missy
Excuuuuuuuse me, Jen, I got the deal on Hotwire FIRST. I think Missy's the one that got us all the Southwest credits. Anyway, Donna, if it isn't the Hyatt it's the Radisson, I think, which is suppossed to be very nice too. Go for it. We'll all have a party at the Hyatt. We're arriving around 11am on Friday.
I'm slammed at work. See ya later.
I'm with Steve.
Hi to all. :wave:
Talk to ya'll later. Here is another movie quote-" I'll be back! "
BRAD
