Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Hi gang,

Busy day. Two clients no-showed, one cancelled. Shocker.

I volunteered (sort of) to lead the worship at our monthly service for the Emmaus community. Any of you familiar with this? If you are, I'm leading worship at candlelight. And if none of you are, disregard this whole paragraph. :) I'm just a bit nervous to lead worship for the whole group (over 100 people), but I love to sing. I feel like God desires I get involved this way, but it's still intimidating!

I bought 2 books tonight at Barnes and Noble - both over 400 pages long! Woo hoooo!!!!!!!!!!!! I will read one before the cruise and the other on the cruise. You know it's a good book when you sit down for a sample read in the store and get sucked in in the first 10 pages. Mmmm, mmmm good - love to read! Anyone else feel that way!

Well, I'm off to bed. Have a good one! I'll check in tomorrow.

Jenny :)

Hi y'all... checking in. Sitting here in a totally trashed house with no motivation to get up and clean it. :( I know: I'll do it tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day.

For those of you whose daughters were corresponding via AIM or MSN with Emily, she has been stripped of internet privileges for a while. She was just spending way too much time online and didn't want us to know anything about who she was talking to or what about, so we pulled the plug. Mean, aren't we? Jenny, we may need to schedule an hour or so with you on the cruise for some therapy. :worried:

Not much else to tell. It's lonely here with hubby gone. We don't have any friends here yet, so I don't have anything to do but sit here.... not really good for the morale.

Talk to you all later.

Karen

Oh, if only you lived close to me. I would come over and cheer you up. I don't blame you with the internet, it is scary what can happen if you don't watch what they are doing. Well, the cruise is only a couple of weeks away so hang in there.

Jenny,

I don't know what an Emmaus community it, but i'm familiar with leading Worship. It is a nervous and intimidating thing when we try to do it ourselves but thankfully we can say "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!" Phil 4:13 - this is my life verse. I'll be praying for you and try to think of yourself as the "Lead Worshiper", not the "Worship Leader" - if you're praising Him others will follow!

Tracy

Beautifully said Tracy. Jenny I will also keep you in my prayers. Fortunatelly it is not in God's plan for me to ever be a "Lead Worshiper" as I was not blessed with a singer's voice. However I know that he gives us all special gifts to share with others. I am the worship follower. You will do just fine and I will also pray for you. Let the Spirit lead you and they will follow. Good Luck.

Karen

Karen.........I hear you loud and clear on stripping the AIM. We have been known to do that as well. On that same note how old are the kids that are talking? My kids are AIM freaks. Alex is 12.5 and her screen name is summerchick0093, she would love to have someone add her and begin chatting.

Gotta run,

Missy

Good Afternoon! I am on my way out for a little "retail therapy." I need to make a trip to Raleigh or somewhere with a real mall. I have bought a few things for my dh but I will need him here to buy pants. He has lost weight while he was gone so I decided to wait for some things. Have any of you tried the dolphin excursion on this cruise? My ds really wants to do it. For me it is not so much about the ports, I just love being on the ship itself! -Donna

Jenny,

My Mom and I have both done the walk to Emmaus and just loved it! I'm sure you will do great leading the worship! Des Colores!

Hi all:

We're on page 117? Wow! It is so hard to catch up when you miss a few days!!

My DMIL has suggested taking a trip to Disney World this Thanksgiving week and I just wanted to ask if anyone has been there on Thanksgiving before. I know the parks are normally very crowded on holidays but I haven't heard much about Thanksgiving.

We went last Halloween week and it didn't really get crowded until Halloween day. The Not-So-Scary Halloween party at Magic Kingdom was so much fun. My DS got to lead the parade with his idol, Buzz Lightyear.

Have a great weekend!!
Pam

:flower1: Hi all, just stopping by to see what's going on. And don't worry Karen, you'll be overwhelmed with all your friends on the cruise. :flower1:

The time is going by so fast -- the cruise is going to be here before we know it. I feel like summer's zooming by. I don't want to seem to be complaining, but going to the Lake most every weekend really makes things go quickly. I feel like I've just unpacked and I do it again. Query why we don't leave clothes there? I don't know. It just drove me crazy -- where is that shirt? Is it at the Lake? etc etc. Plus -- I'd be doing too much laundry at the lake if I left clothes there. We do leave sheets & towels there. Anyway, I love it, but by the end of summer/fall, I'm ready to just stay home. Next weekend I AM home and I'm getting a babysitter for Sat to do some shopping for stuff we need for the cruise -- green yarn, waterproof bandaids, etc. It seems early, but I'll be at the Lake the next 2 weekends, then it's Labor Day! I'll probably stay home Labor Day, start laying out all our clothes, etc. Oh my gosh. I'm totally rambling. Sorry.

Have a great weekend everyone! :flower1: :rockband:

Also-

Jen, I promise I will finally send our family photo to you by tomorrow.

Has anyone found that the FFC t-shirts in size 4T run small? I'm trying to decide which size to order my my DS.

Thanks,
Pam

We ordered the 3 T for a tall four year old and seems big. Can't remember you DS age?? Don't even know if that helps you....

Thanks-

I forgot to add that he's a short (like his Mom) 5-year old. He normally wears 4T shirts but I didn't know if they would shrink alot.

Hi everyone!!

Did you all hear about the 10 and 11 night cruises on the Wonder next Sept.? Anyone thinking about going?

Pam, we've been there at Thanksgiving. It wasn't real bad, but the closer to Thanksgiving it got the busier the parks got.

Later everyone,
Emily

Wendy, the 10 night leaves 9-7-06 and the 11 night leaves 9-17-06. They both go to St. Thomas/St. John, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua and Castaway Cay. The 11 night adds St. Kitts to the itinerary.

I think it would be so awesome. I think we might be considering the 10 night one now instead of the 7 night Costa Maya, Double Castaway one. Will go on one or the other.

Emily

That does sound Wonderful..I have a question, would it be better to wait till on board to reserve to get the $200.00 on board credit, and the discount?

We were actually going to wait till 2007....but I don't know I love the fact we'd be gone that many days...and you just got to love all them sea days   as well.

Good afternoon gang,

Thanks Tracy, Renee, and Karen for the good thoughts about leading worship. I actually lead worship at my church, but it's different doing it for a larger group with people from all different denominations.

Basically, for those of you that care, the Walk to Emmaus is a 3 day retreat that allows you to grow in your relationship with Christ by focusing on Him. It's very uplifting and not your typical spiritual retreat. It started in Spain and there are Emmaus communities all over the world, in prisons, etc. It's based in the United Methodist faith, but people from all denominations can attend. It's just a wonderful experience (as Renee and her mom can attest to).

Class again this weekend... I think I might have had homework, so I need to go check that out.

I love the new dog-themed smilies. This one is my favorite: :paw:.

What seating has everyone requested? How many are you eating with? It's just DSis and I at the late seating. We requested to start at Parrot Cay (anal-retentive Jenny wants to make sure she gets the fancy restaurant on formal night, the fun restaurant on Pirate Night, and the other nice restaurant on semi-formal night).

Alright, need to get some lunch. TTFN!

Jenny

I know I have been hanging out with DD in front of the TV too much when I see :paw: and think...a clue...a clue!!!!

We are wait listed for early seating, so who knows. I didn't even know you could request where you start out! I am learning so much! I guess I need to read that post on the benefits of the late seating in case we do not get it!

We have 5 in our group (counting the 1 yr old). Is Palo already booked up for the trip? I didn't even think about it until I heard so many people rave about it...now I'm thinking it may be worth checking out!
