Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Hello all. I gained this week. 'nuff said... :guilty:

Congrats to you Christal!

Dixie Stampede is a blast! We have one in Branson that we've been to. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty!

Christal that is fantastic!!! Every pound counts in...I have remained the same...Hoping to lost this weekend.. :love2: :love2: Maybe, walking around up north.. :confused3 I will take any pound, any way..

Jenny, I feel for you and your dog, I have two cats, and am always nervous..Used to dogs, and the one time ours got stung, his body swelled up with hives, and was allergic, near death..So thankfully yours is OK.... :goodvibes

Jen, I LOVE the flip flops on top. I actually love them all, but that one is amazing..You are talented..You go girl....

I am cleaning house like MAD, as my dear SIL is staying here watching the kids, and she has none, so IMAGINE IT.....No, she is sweet and a real doll, she would not judge me, but you know how it is... :smooth: Bringing car in for an allignment this afternoon, then football tonight, and off in the AM...IT is not supposed to be the best weekend, but any weekend anyway is nice..right?

I hope to come back reflected, and relaxed...And maybe some notion as to whether we are going or not...I hope so!!!!!!!! I am really wanting to meet you all...

SO, have a good weekend everybody, and enjoy the long one..IT is one of the few times we also have a long one at the same time...

Be safe... :grouphug:

i hope you all enjoy your long weekend, i presume in the US it is for the 4th of July, but what is the canadian one for?

It's so NEAT to have people here on our thread who are in so many different places! I love it!

Michelle, good thing...I think it would probably take me at least a couple days to get adjusted to that big a time change!!

Brad...Prayers and thoughts for you and your family. :goodvibes Good to see you here. The weather here is about the same...heat warnings just about every day...UGH...Glad to hear your new job's going well!!! :)

Sherri, Any weekend away from the kids and alone with DH is a great time to be had :earseek: enjoy your 1st of July!!

Brad, to you and your DW we'll keep you in our prayers, glad to hear your new promotion is all you had wished for :wizard:

Michelle, I know when I was in Europe the time difference was an issue till I got use to it...even then it's tough

Cristal!! Congrats go to you...Ya Hoo!! :Pinkbounc

Wendy, I weighed in with my eyes shut.. :rotfl: :rotfl: but opened them and no gain..and no lost with everything we have going on right now with family get togethers and we're planning DH Mom and Dad's 50 wedding :love2: anniversary for the 16th of July. Plus everyone is coming over this weekend for the 4th :rotfl2: it is getting tough! Everyone knows I bake so the dessert menu is up to me..how do you think 65 people would feel about jello?? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Went by the Disney Store on my way home today... :scared1: I have got to stay out of there!! They have the same sales as Disney Direct, but you don't always get the extra percentage off. My DH has no clue what was purchased today :wizard: I'm going to need a lot of pixie dust to pull this one off. I did buy him a hat...that should be something :confused3 right?? Just keep telling yourself that Tammy :rotfl: all will be well.

Take care all and hope everyone is looking forward to a great weekend! :sunny:

Stay Safe!! :earsboy:

oh OK well then Happy Canada Day! :flower:

and of course (in advance) Happy 4th of July to everyone else :flower:

i hope you all have a wonderful weekend celebrating :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1:

Michelle, if you've cruised before why are you waiting to make all your ressies with non Castaway Club cruisers? You could make them now because once you've been on a Disney cruise, you're automatically a CC member.

If it is because you've never received a card, call DCL and tell them and maybe they could go ahead and give you a CC number so you can start making ressies.

true Tammy the time difference can knock you about, but we travel a lot (DH all the time) so we cope fairly well and also i always find that for some reason it hits me so much harder travelling back the other way. :tilt:

if you 65 people happen to be under the age of three the jello would be a hit - but if they are a bit older well then perhaps not... :sad2:

how i love the DS i wish they would open one here...
then again if they did we probably wouldn't have any money left to take cruises :teeth:

Don't I wish they were all under three!! These people are use to desert styles of Christmas, Thanksgiving, Birthdays....guess I could tell them "Hey, I'm cutting down thought you should too!" :earseek: I'm all talk..I'll have to make DH Mom, Dad their favorite..then make DH favorite, ( prior to breaking the news of DS), add a couple other things and you have instant poundage due to listening to the menu! :earseek: It's making me nuts to think about it!

DS is located about 45 minutes away from where I live and your right if it were any closer I would be in loads of trouble :sad2:

Boy the things we get ourselves into :smooth:

Depends on if they old enough that throwing in a can of pears and putting it in a mold would work. However in my experience you have to be over 80 to enjoy that. So all in all if you are feeding 65 people who are all <3 or >80........then yes you can make jello. (don't forget the canned fruit for the >80 portion.

Jenny.......I have 3 kids and last night I said "come to Mommy" to my dog and just about lost my sister (making fun of me). Hope your pooch is feeling better.

Christal gj on the weight.......

can't remember what else, but I gotta run,

Missy

My DH was confused on his schedule so we are going to the Lake this weekend. Bad news for my diet, good news for family fun. Gotta go pack. Ugg. Will check in manana.

Before I forget...

Wendy, I'm studying to be a mental health counselor. Currently I work 2 1/2 days a week and have clients ranging in age from 6 to 45. Problems range from AD-HD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, bereavement, domestic violence issues, marital (read sexual) problems, Bipolar Disorder, parenting issues (as in, don't set rules, kids walk all over them, no consequences, and then to me, "Why does _____ act like this, O Wise Counselor?". I also sit in and help with an anger management group. God bless them - the people in that group have VERY little insight as to why their anger is a BAD thing. I work in a community mental health agency, and we service primarily Medicaid patients, court-ordered clients, and the children of adults who have private health insurance. We don't see adults with private insurance because they can generally get service anywhere, but people who are court-ordered or are Medicaid recipients tend to be denied services by private practices, who have to employ someone full time just to handle all the necessary paperwork. At our agency, we have LOTS of billing people because we are the only community mental health agency for an entire county of about 60,000 people, a lot of whom are middle- to lower-income families. A large population of Appalachian mountain families, which is strange since that region is about 4-6 hours from here, but apparently they just love Ohio. ;) Anyways, it's quite challenging because we have to keep up with LOTS of paperwork to keep our state funding and to serve so many clients. Probably more info than you wanted, but it's a pretty fascinating profession. My heart's desire is to work with adolescent girls through adult women with mood/anxiety disorders, abuse issues, eating disorders, etc., but when you're just starting out, you get whatever clients the agency gives ya! :)

The pupper-doo is fine; he's not even limping. What a trooper. Admire his picture for a second... it'll make you fell all warm and smooshy inside. ;)

Brad, good to hear from you, and Michelle, you had lots of posts today! You go, dubai girl! :) Jen, did you ever thinking of buying a yellow and black checkered car? You could earn some money from your booming child-taxiing service. :rotfl:

I've never managed to respond to the last several posts in a post before, so watch me while I traverse the tightwire without a rope... er, looking back at the posts! :) Mommasita, have a great vacation! Rest, relax, and don't worry about DCL. Still 20 days to make your final decision! :) Tammy, good luck with the dessert decision. Christal, wtg on the weight loss! When I went to the doc, they told me I'd lost 7 pounds since my visit a week ago! :earseek: That was quite a surprise, since I have been watching my intake but not doing much for my energetic output (aka exercise, but that's an AWFULLY dirty word round here...). Missy, what kind of dog? Sue, Trish, Steve, Emily, John, Paul - just hi and hope to "read" from you soon! (Okay, I did cheat and look down, but that'll be our little secret).

And now my post is nearly done, but let me tell you our fun 4th of July news. It's my grandma's surprise 80th birthday party on Sunday (a few months early so out-of-towners can attend). We've got 37 people coming from NY, Maryland, Texas, and all over Ohio. We're all showing up at her church and will be sitting in the pews when she arrives - even my father!!!!! :) Well, she'll probably beat a lot of people there, but you get the idea. DSis and I are singing a duet; I lead worship at my church every week, so it's no big thing, but singing in front of ALLLLLLL my family - that's a bit nerve wracking. Then we're going out to a nice camp and having lunch. It should be lots of fun.

Have a happy Canada Day/ Independence Day/reward-for-most-unique-locale day for Michelle and family! :)

Evening everyone, just dropped by to say a quick hello to everyone. Tired this evening, long & busy day. Later everyone.

Emily

Just a really late good night wish!!

Tammy, Good luck with the dessert making! I am responsible for dessert for a large picnic we're going to on Saturday, so I'm making a few apple pies (Dutch apple, grandma's recipe *mmmm mmmm good!* ) So I can kinda relate, but I'm not baking for over 60 people!! Good luck!

Jenny, your work really does sound fascinating and quite rewarding! I would love to have done something like that, but I'm messed up enough on my own, I don't think I would be able to help many others with their issues! :rotfl2: Good for you though! I admire people like you who give so much of themselves to help make others whole again. It's a tough job, but we're all glad that there are people like you who are willing and able to do it!
Your weekend sounds like fun! Hope you and your family are able to make your Grandma's 80th birthday a very special one! Have fun!

Good night everyone!

-Christal

Just got an email back from Lord Sheffields and we are booked for the Pirate Day Sail. Could not pass it up when you all pointed out it was on Pirate night and that you did not have to put down a deposit. Sound like to much fun and after 10 is right up our alley for getting to something when we are cruising!! So much for being budget consious..........($60x4 plus $42x5):earseek:

Have a great day everyone,

Missy

Christal your right on target with the apple pies this weekend...nothing like apple pie on the fourth of July!! yum :goodvibes I'll make a couple, maybe not like your Grandma's but with this mob :rotfl: who would notice??

Missy, I'm going to try the jello thing just for fun  there will be some older ones here who just might enjoy  thought about trying the coolwhip fourth of July special also. Throw in making cookies with DGS and couple more pies (lemon, pecan..etc and large choc fudge cake (for DH), may just be perfect) :wizard: Gosh I should have already started :rotfl2:

Jenny, your line of work sounds so rewarding...you should receive congrats to you :goodvibes not everyone could do that job..it takes special people to help people. Stay that way and you'll go so far :wizard: pixie dust to you!!

Well I need to get to work..have regular work day and then boy do I have to get to work..kitchen duty calls

Hey can anyone tell me what night is pirate night? I know Sunday night is the Formal dinner...and I guess that's all I really know. Someone else know the weeks events??

All I know is Sunday-formal
Tuesday-Pirate Night
Thursday-semi formal

Which also reminds me I need to email the travel agent and request a dining rotation.

Have a great day......hope this helps a little.
