Sept 16 2012 - WONDERing who's on the Calif Coastal with me?!

We live here in California and have annual passes.. When I mentioned how awesome it would be to head out to Disneyland the day before we set sail to meet fellow cruisers who would be there he looked at me like I was crazy :rotfl:.. We were on the MR in Jan and being that we traveled with our 4 children plus 2 of their friends the day before sailing was chaotic to say the least. I tried to convince him since we are now only traveling with our 2 youngest that we should be packed up by friday free sat for Disneyland but he's not having it.. lol

Hi there! So glad your coming along! I just had my son Noah post a reply to your son Ceejay! Oh Noah was absolutely thrilled that someone finally replied to his post.. My son Nathan is here moping around saying "why can't I talk to someone, Noah is soooo LUCKY" :rotfl: I'm not officially in charge of the FE but I am trying to keep track of who wants to join in just in case no one takes the reins on it.. hehehe Soooo looking forward to meeting you and your family!

Well, I guess once bitten twice shy. But there is still time to convince him. I am so looking forward to this trip. To combine Disneyland, a Disney Pacific Coast Cruise and our 5th anniversary, is going to be amazing. Hope to see you at Disneyland.

Greetings!

We are trying to plan our port adventures today and are somewhat disappointed in the DCL offerings. Now we wish we were in SD for two days instead of one. Oh well. :rolleyes2

For your Cali natives, we are interested in the Trolley Tour, Zoo, & USS Midway Museum. Since we are in port only 8:30am-7:30pm, is more than one of these doable in a single day? (I'd really like to do both the Zoo & Midway, but both look very time intensive.)

Also, does anyone know exactly where we will be docked?
Thanks!
Gayle

Hi, Gayle. I have been to the USS Midway but not the zoo, strangely enough. I would say that you could do the Midway in about 3 hours, but I could not say about the zoo. I don't think the MIdway opens until 10:00am, so if you were there when it opened and left aroun 1:00pm, I would imagine that you would have enough time to see the zoo. The zoo is the shore excursion that I am hoping to take. But my husband may try to drag me to see the Midway again :rotfl2:. We were there last year.

Hope that helps.

Good Morning (or afternoon/evening depending where you are in the world ;))
This is for all you who want to participate in the FE... Could you please (at your convenience of course) begin to PM me your info such as Stateroom, Names of those in your group, ages of children if any. I would like to start putting together/organizing the list that I will eventually get out to each of you.. I know its early but I would like to end up with something somewhat understandable.. :lmao: Thanks :thumbsup2

Yikes! I cannot send a PM until I have 10 posts. When I get there, I will send you our information.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to update the Info request for the FE List.. A fellow cruiser who PM'd me their info suggested I add a Special Notes Section listing any birthdays, anniversaries or other special events that may be celebrated and I thought it was a GREAT idea :thumbsup2. I also thought it would be a good idea to organize the list in sections of the ship so that eveyone isn't running around all over the place while trying to deliver their FE gifts.. :goodvibes
Ok... INFO needed...
Names of people cruising with you
Ages of children (if any)
Stateroom #
Location of stateroom (Forward, Midship, Aft)
Special Notes (are you celebrating a Birthday, Anniversay, or any other special event?)

Goodness, I hope I'm not forgetting anything.. If you see that I am, PLEASE feel free to let me know...Thanks!
Have a great day everyone!!

Hi, Yvette,

I'm Brenda and my husband Eric and I will will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. (Our anniversary is actually on September 15th and we will be at Disneyland :cool1:). We are in cabin 5524, a SPR, and that is located foward.

Hey, did anyone ever find out if there is any Disney transportation from Disneyland hotels to LAX?

There is. It is called the Disneyland Express. It is not like Magical Express. For Disneyland Express you do not need a reservation from airport to hotel, but do need a reservation for the return. There is also a fee $22 one way/$32 RT. There is a coupon on the Anaheim convention & visitors website. It also goes to the nearby hotels as well. We will likely take this too.

Gayle

You know, I am just too "Goofy" for words. :confused3 We don't need to go to/from LAX. What I meant to ask was whether there is transportation from the hotels to the PIER. Crazy, crazy girl!!!:lmao:

We just paid off our cruise today too!:cool1: We are all set to book our excursions and make our palos reservations on May 19th! :hourglass

woo hoo! Congrats! It's a great feeling! We have to wait until June to book anything but even that seems like it's getting closer every minute! I can't wait...I feel like a giddy kid!

Started my FE gifts today - those with experience in FEs - how many should I make?

Hope all is well - take care

Yes, but you have to buy this transfer through DCL. We have this included with our cruise. Although we are staying at the Fairfield, our TA said the transfer will leave from th DL hotel. We'll likely walk our bags over the morning of departure.

Thanks, Gayle. I will take care of this right now.

After crunching some numbers, it is going to be less expensive to drive our own car and park it at the port. Another option may be to rent a car and drop it off at the port and then pick it up again. Have to think about that.

As soon as school gets out I'm going to get started on mine too :) How many to make will depend on how many people decide to join....from what I've read, anywhere from 10-100! We can decide as a group if we want to cut it off at a certain number and/or on a certain date but so far we don't seem to have very many members. Once everyone responds to the request for info from Yvette563, we'll have a better idea of where to start.

So, basically....I have no idea! :rotfl: I'm going to start with 10 but be prepared for more.

100??
I vote we close before we get that big!

I will start with ten too :)

Good Evening Everyone,

I have some terrible news.. Well... Terrible for us.. We have had to cancel our cruise res.. We have had a situation arise that has required us to make some drastic financial changes to help family.. My feelings at the moment are all over the place.. Sad, angry, frustrated just to name a few..I am so heartbroken knowing I will not be able to meet you all. I'm leaving it in God's hands as I know he has a plan.. Someone will have to take over the FE list. So sorry.. I hope you all have a wonderful cruise... Blessings

Oh dear :( hugs Honey. That is such a shame. Would you please PM me your postal details as Ceejay has been working on something for your wonderful boys. And I think you need some Kiwi cheer too x x x x x
