How about a brief meetup at Studio Sea (Deck 4 Midship) at 2:30pm and walk up to the Oceaneer Club (Deck 5 Midship) afterwards for the open house?

All ages of kids are welcome to come of course! This will hopefully give your kids a chance to meet other kids their own age and strike up some friendships during their time in the clubs. It's kind of nice to already know someone in a new place. :wave2:

Hi everyone!!!!
Me and my boyfriend just booked this cruise few days ago. We both are first timers - never been on any cruise before. Counting down the days!!!!!

Howdy! DH and I are thinking about sailing along with y'all. I have a couple of questions:

1. We're thinking about staying at one of the DL friend hotels the night before. Do they do like in FL where you can catch a bus to the port?

2. Where would be the best place to stay the night before? We really don't want to rent a car as we won't be staying afterwards--I teach so I have to be back for the next day.

3. At what point did they announce that this was a Pixar themed cruise?

4. We've only been on the Dream so far. What sort of differences can we expect between the two boats?

I don't know about catching a port bus from a good neighbor hotel. But I do know that we can't take the port bus to our good neighbor hotel after the cruise. We have the take the cruise bus back to LAX and then catch the Disneyland Express (there are more efficient ways but this is the cheapest) We are staying in LA the night before and going to DL for a few days after the cruise. We are staying in a hotel that has an airport shuttle that will take us back to LAX the morning of and then we will catch Disney's bus to the port.

I'm pretty sure they announced it being a PIXAR cruise at about the end of may/beginning of june.

This is our first cruise so I can't tell you about the Dream, sorry :confused3

Hi everyone!

If you are participating in the FE exchange please PM me and let me know what day you would like to deliver your gifts and I'll add that to the list.

People have asked about theme and/or number of gifts. I don't know that we have established a specific theme. Also, we have 12 cabins participating so we should be fine with each sharing one gift (whatever that means for you -- either one per cabin or one per person). Of course if anyone wants to deliver more than one PLEASE do! It is so much fun sharing and receiving special gifts so go with whatever works for you!!

We will close the list on August 15th so if anyone new to the group would still like to join the fun there is still plenty of time!

Look forward to seeing everyone soon!!
Susan

Looks like we have 2 recommendations for DISer meet-ups on Embarkation Day -

Promenade Lounge (Deck 3) at 3pm

or

Studio Sea (Deck 4) at 2:30pm

Preference anyone??

It would be a good idea for those in the FE Exchange to meet at one of those times in case there are any updates to cabin assignments.

For those with kids it sounds like fun to meet and then go to the Oceaneer's Club/Lab open houses so the kids can get to know each other.

Grown-ups might want to plan another meet-up later for beverages??

Any meet-ups throughout the week??

We've been on several cruises and the dates/time/location of the meet-ups is always different -- what has worked well for everyone in the past that we can use here????

Would love to meet in person when we board. Did this on the last cruise and it was fun. Adult meet at one of the night spots?? 9:30 or so???

1. We are staying at a Good Neighbor. We have to get all of our stuff over to the DL Hotel to get the bus. There is an additional fee for this transfer. A transfer can also be planned for the return back to the airport.

B]4. While I haven't been on the new ships yet, there is no Aqua Duck or putt-putt, smaller adult club section, smaller (no balcony) theatre, only one adult pool area & restaurent. But don't think of this ship as "less", just more cozy. And it's pretty apparent this sailing won't be full, so it will be enjoyable to not have a packed ship. We are actually apprehensive about our March Fantasy, as we don't like large crowds. [/B]

Sorry, I didn't realize there was already a meet up at the Promenade Lounge. What time is the safety drill? On the MR cruise it was 3:30 so that's why I suggest 2:30 meet up. Let's consolidate and just do one meet up. Susan, I'll let you pick the time and place. Thanks!

Does this work if you already have a reservation? Will they credit you the difference?

Well, I just called Disney and guess what? I am going to be credited with $536.76!!! We loss our $50.00 onboard credit, but you know what? I'm GOOD with that!!!

We heard back from our TA today and we got back $904 for our room with our season pass!! BEYOND excited!!! Thank you so much for the heads up!!

I was able to do this..saved me $849 and I still have the super mid ship verandah room I got over a year ago when I first booked. Very exicted :)

I am so happy for you all and that I was able to help by posting this special offer. Like I had mentioned in the previous post, I wasn't able to take advantage of this discount because I am actually saving more than 25%.

There are several differences between the Dream and the Wonder - size of the ship and the number of people on board are obviously the biggest differences. We have sailed on the Dream, Wonder and Magic and think they each offer some wonderful features. Everyone we talk to seems to have different favorites so you will just have to experience them all and decide for yourself!:boat:

I will say that since the Wonder is smaller it is easier to navigate and get around (we burned a lot more calories on the stairs on the Dream) :mickeybar

It is good to help set your expectations so keep in mind that it offers many of the same features, but on a smaller scale, and it is older so does not have quite the same "bells and whistles." We prefer to think of the Wonder as very comfortable and inviting!

Hi everyone!

I just found this board and wanted to say hello!!!

My son (age 10) and I are sooo looking forward to going on this cruise with you all!

We are set for the Muir Woods excursion and the Ensenada city tour excursion.

We are from San Diego so if anyone needs any info regarding this city - let me know!

Thanks!

Thank you, so much!!! And I'm glad that you have an even better deal! How did you hear about this anyway? I have checked and checked.

I'm a newbie. What's a cabin crawl?

Hi, there. Glad to have you aboard.

A cabin crawl is where folks from different stateroom categories allow other guests to view their staterooms so that when they decide to cruise again (and they will), they know what the different staterooms look like.

It was quite an eye-opener for me. It can be alot of fun.
