Sept. 14, 7 Day Roll Call

Well, I kinda figured my liist was maxed out and we would not be adding anyone else. Welcome Nokes family. Congrats on the upgrade. I sure do wish they would call me. Where are you folks coming from? I will add you to the list as soon as you let me know.
Have you just booked or did you just find us?

It looks like this is not going to be a crowded cruise. They must be upgrading and letting the Fl. residents in the higher catagories. Just a guess on my part.

Bobby - Did y'all get a better rate than us out of staters? Just curious.

Good Night All,
Russ:jester:

Yes...I just found you all out here in cyber space! We have had this cruise booked since last year in July! Our family is from Houston, Texas and we will be driving to Florida...straight through!!!:( We are leaving after the kido's get out of school at about 6 and we should get to the boat about 1 or so! Please don't try to find us cause I'm going to need to hit the shower before I do anything! lol

The last cruise the kids and the adults just loved it! Last year we did Cozumel and were suppose to come back September the 12th...well you can imagine what happened with that vacation..we were there an EXTRA WEEK! It wouldn't have been so bad if we were on the disney cruise but in a small hotel room for 14 days with two kids?? and no disney entertainment...that certainly taught us a lesson for sure!!!! :p

Can't wait to meet you all...see ya soon!!!

The Nokes!:jester: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I've been a little puzzed by some of the threads I've looked at about Florida resident deals. I think I looked into it and the rate I already had was better. We booked several months ago and took the cheapest room possible ($644 per person). We have a category 11. All I did was look at the rates on Yahoo's travel section and picked the week that was lowest. Then, I called AAA and they gave us the same rate plus some freebies like shipboard credit and mugs for free soda.

But I don't think this has anything to do with Florida residents. I was wondering if those kind of discounts were more for the higher category rooms. Maybe the rates for the category 11 and 12 rooms are like loss leaders where they try to get you in and hope you choose a higher category when you start looking at it. For us, we are just happy to be able to go regardless of the category! We expected to pay a lot more and were happy to be able to get a week-long cruise to celebrate our 10th anniversary.

It is only three more weeks!

- Bobby

We have gone from a maybe to a definitely! See ya in a few weeks!

FedEX tried to deliver the docs yesterday while I was at work. So I went over to the FedEx facility (luckily only 5 minutes from here) today and picked them up. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I spoke with DCL this afternoon to inquire as to whether or not the dining times for our cruise had changed. I was told they have definitely changed......first dinner seating is now going to be 5:30, and second dinner seating is now going to be 7:45.

I think our party will only be affected by the time change on the first day. As we have no intention of missing the 5 p.m. sail away party, I don't plan on showing up in the dining room until 6 p.m. the first night. If they don't like it, too bad.....we're not going to miss the sail away, and we didn't have any say in the change they made to our dining time.

Russ,
Another state spoken for.....New Jersey......Can you add a couple (big kids in their 50's) from New Jersey to the 9/14/02 Magic sailing. Kathy & Skip, this will be our 5th Disney Cruise sailing. Looking forward to meeting all of you and having a great time.

Thanks,

Bunny & Todd

:Pinkbounc Sheesh...I can hardly WAIT to go...I think I'm more excited that the kids!!! We are scheduled on the second dining too!!! Glad we are now since they have changed the dining times....

See ya soon!!!

The Nokes!
:bounce: :Pinkbounc

P.S. Where did ya all get the counter thingy??? (you know...to count down the time before we go???)

First - hnokes go here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=244738
and it explains how to get your timer. Hurry because you have less than 3 weeks.

Second - tokathy, It's a good thing the hnokes had signed on. We are getting to the point that we have to have 1 Southen family for each Northern family we are taking with us on this cruise. Hey, I'm just kidding. We Sotherners are more outnumbered on this cruise than we were in The War Between The States. I will get you added and a very harty welcome to you and your friends. I hope we get to meet.

Third- I'm so glad we have late dinning. I can not imagine having dinner at 5:30. I do like the new late dinning time. Maybe I will be able to eat some of the Midnight dessert buffett this trip.

Fourth - I was looking at our probable dinning schedule, LAP, and I figure I am going to be wearing a jacket just about every night. We are going to try Palos on Sunday night when we would normally be at AP plus the two formal nights are the nights we will probably be scheduled in PC. I think I have it figured we will do the Mexi night at Luminaires. "Well, when in Rome".

I have two new books to take, "Envy" by Sandra Brown and "The Lobster Chronicles" by Linda Greenlaw. If any of you first timers are readers, you had better take your books with you. The choice of books on board is very limited.

We will be pulling into Key West 3 weeks from right now.

Russ:jester:

Thanks for the welcome Russ......good old Southern Hospitality at it's best!

We were thinking of Tuesday night for Palo's as we sail from Cayman fairly early and that way we would have already done one full rotation....and if we get the LAP rotation (I hope) the guys would have to wear a jacket that night anyway in L.......We were also thinking about Palo's champage brunch for Sunday morning, we could watch Key West approach and toast it! Is the Capt's Gala dinner on Thursday? (Our friends don't want to miss the Lobster tails)

I love watching your clock count down......every tick gets me closer to hearing that ship's whistle!!! We've sailed 4 times on Disney already and that whistle still gives me goose bumps!!!!

The Captain's Gala is scheduled for Thursday on the Western. That means lobster on Thursday for Dinner and Friday for Lunch.
This will be our 4th cruise. Which ones have you done?
What excursions have y'all plannned?
Russ

Russ,
We've done:
Magic - 4 night - Sept 1999 (During Hurricane Floyd and we went to Cozumel instead of any of the scheduled stops) They wanted to get the ship out of the storm's path. The Wonder had just plucked the employees off Castaway Cay the sailing before ours.
Wonder - 3 night - Sept 2000
Magic - 7 night - Eastern Caribbean - Nov 2000
Wonder - 3 night - Feb 2002 (rescheduled from 9/12/01) and we couldn't dock in Castaway Cay due to strong winds...they tried Nassau and couldn't get in there either.....
So in our 4 cruises we only have been to Castaway Cay twice!

For the 9/14/02 sailing we reserved a snorkle boat in Key West where you snorkle with the dolphins in the wild and with the boat's Captain's dog....who has made friends with the dolphins and swims with you. I saw him on our local Cable Animal Planet show and reserved it...he only takes 6 people out at a time...he is taking the 4 of us out at 2PM check out his site WWW.DOLPHINWATCHUSA.COM

In Cayman we reserved a 1:45PM snorkle trip with WWW.CAPTAINMARVINS.COM to do the sting ray city thing (Done it 4 times and love it)

For Cozumel, maybe Chanakaab (SP?) Park by cab on our own...still undecided....any suggestions????

What have you got planned??????

Kathy & Skip from NJ

"Ayah" Everyone we're from New Hampshire and just found this "Wicked Cool" site. This is our first Disney Cruise and we will be celebratin' "R" 5th Anniversay with all of "ya"! We spent our Honeymoon at tha' Coronado Springs resort for 4 Days and had no other choice at the time, but took the Carnival Cruise for 3 days to Nassua! So we're lookin' forward to this trip more than a warm outhouse in February! We have reservations for 2nd seating for Dinna'! Now with all this"HIC Language" and stuff put aside! We will be starting our vacation arriving on Thursday visiting all the latest, newest things, seeing Walt's Story at MGM and Having Dinner on the Animal Kingdom Lodge to get some Magis jumping inside of us, not that we are not already! Just had to do it, as we're sure you understand! We really look forward to meeting some of you and conversing with you before hand to make it a bit more magical for anyone interested! We certainly are!:Pinkbounc

If my grandfather knew I was going off on a trip with this many folks from above the line, he would turn over in his grave.

Seriously, we are glad you can join us memohla and I would guess from your first post that we will get along fine. I like your analogy about outhouses. Been there, done that but it was a looooong time ago. I will get you added to the list. By the way, we will probably be in MGM on Thursday as well. If you need a great lunch, try Prime Time Cafe if you didn't before. That is probably where we will be. I plan on riding the RocknRoller Coaster a couple of times and then head to the Tower Of Terror. I think we are leaning towards Rain Forrest Cafe for Dinner. We will then do Sea World on Friday. What time do you arrive at MCO on Thursday? You will be added to our list now.

Kathy and Skip - We are doing the Capt. Marvin early we hope. If we don't make it we will be on yours. In Key West it is the Trolly and Mr. Sanchos Beach in Cozumel.

I saw your post and just sent the dolphinwatch an email. on their site they say they go out at 10:30 as they are in the winter hours now. We don't dock until noon. (We are actually on the 9/28 cruise). How didi you work it out? Thanks Elaine

We fly in at 11:45 staying at the Swan or dolphin? Will be going to MGM on Fri, plan on going to Typhoon Lagoon Thur. PM and dinner at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Elaine,
I sent Dolphin Watch an email explaining that our ship doesn't dock until noon or so. I told them I had 4 adults that wanted to go out with them and they agreed to do a 2PM trip for us. I guess if you can guarantee a certain number of passengers they will go at 2PM instead of their winter 11am trip.....I believe they only take 6 persons max anyway.

Kathy from NJ

We get in about 10:30 AM and are staying at the Holiday Inn, Main Gate. We spent 4 nights at WL back in Dec. and it took all of my resort funds. I guess we will meet up in line on Sat. morning. Look for an old round man with an orange shirt, tan shorts and a Clemson Tiger ball cap.

Russ

Russ,
I'll look for that Clemson hat at the adult pool....I won't forget because my Nephew (Godson) graduated from Clemson a few years back.....They sure are liberal down there letting a Yankee from NJ get his learnin' there!!!!
