Sept. 14, 7 Day Roll Call

I was told by Donna at DU, who we also booked through, that our documents will NOT be shipped to DU, but directly from DCL to us.

I can't believe we still haven't gotten ours yet. I too called DCL and they were basically of no help. I know their official position on the arrival of cruise documentation is 10-14 days prior to sailing, but last year we got our docs 6 weeks before sailing. I think most people get their docs well ahead of DCL's 10-14 day statement. I'm mad!

CarolRN,
So if the Documents don't go to Dreams then where in the Sam heck are they and why can't Disney give us more info if they send them direectly to us?...althougth this conflicts with what the CM told me. That's not a real big surprise though. I could call back and get a completely different story. It all depends on who you talk to. By the way , did you get your shore excursion information?
I noticed you are traveling with a group of twenty...any girls age 10 or so or boys around 7?

We booked through DU, haven't gotten cruise documents yet, but we got our excursion information by the 60th day mark and have made our reservations already (although now I am not sure what will happen with the sailing since someone said the ship will not be at Key West in September).

I would call about the excursions right away if you want to book them. I was afraid the swimming with stingrays would be all booked if we waited. They have added another opportunity to do that (there are now two stingray excursions). So that would help.

But yes, you should have your excursions and you can book them now if you want to make sure you get them in.

I just got an e-mail from Donna at Dreams. She called Disney and she was told that my documents have not even been printed yet.....wow. Here am sitting and waiting for my door bell to ring any minute. I guess not. She was told it would be about 10-14 days prior to sailing. Although Donna didn't think it would really be that much later. I wonder why we are getting our so much later?

I guess we are in the same 'boat' :smooth:

Maybe all of us who booked through DU will be getting ours late. Maybe they do them in 'groups' based on TA.

Well, DH have a trip next week to Chicago and he said he wasn't going to start worrying about it until after that trip. He said he can only think of one trip at a time.

Thanks for letting us know what is going on with the rest of you.

westjones,
Can you elaborate on the Key West information? Did you actually hear that the ship may not be stopping there in September? Any info you can provide would be much appreciated. :D

No, sorry, what I was talking about was the 'excursions'. The sailing excursion isn't suppose to be there in September, and we had booked that one. That is what someone else said on this board (don't remember who). We took the attitude of let's just wait and see, and if we don't get to sail, I am sure we will find something to do while we are there.

Sorry for the confusion.

Just got back in from Charleston. Great pic Bobby. I now know one face to look for.

westjones- you scared me too. I got in and read "the ship wasn't going to Key West" and about had a coronary. I feel better now.

mausmu - Tell us more for the list.

We went to sleep in Charleston ( our favorite place) last night talking about "1 month from today". Didn't get my shrimp and grits fix. Had Frogmore stew instead.

Sorry to read about the docs not arriving yet. Hope you all get them soon.

pmouse13,

Sorry, no boys or girls in our group that are the ages you mentioned. There are two toddlers and the other four kids are teenagers. I made our shore excursion reservations at the 60 day out mark, directly thru DCL and they immediately faxed me the confirmation.

Donna from DU called me today and told me of a major mistake with my mother in laws reservation. She said that DCL had to correct it before the docs would print. She also said that the "group" docs wouldn't print until DCL corrected the error. I asked her if that meant all who had booked thru DU, and she said 'yes.' I don't know what the heck is going on, but I'm a little upset about this whole thing.

Last year I made my DCL cruise reservations DIRECTLY thru DCL, had no problems, and got my docs 6 weeks prior to sailing.

I'm not a very happy 'sailor' right now.

I told the woman on the phone that this was a great birthday gift since I turned the big 30 on Saturday!!!
I can't beleive our cruise is only 26 days away!!!:p

My birthday was Friday and they didn't upgrade me. Cograts on the upgrade and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Of course I am way past the big 30, 40 and 50.
Russ

Well happy birthday to you Russ!!! I hope you had a great day on Friday!! Nothing like a Leo!

It started out with a friend of mine bringing over his Ditch Witch and digging a one foot deep trench 400 feet across our property. My son and I then commenced to install 1" PVC pipe along this 400 ft. trench. All of this in order for us to tap on to a water main. We have had a well since we built this house 25 years ago and now it is going dry. SC is in the midst of a very serious drought and it has lowered the water table seriously. We could have gone on 2 DCL cruises for what this is costing but at least we and our clothes will be clean when you meet us.

Oh, I also spent time in the pool and the hot tub and went to a steak house with family and friends for dinner. Miss Vivian made me a scratch peanut butter pound cake with chocolate icing. How could you not love someone who does that. Great gifts and funny cards.

Do all of you know what a "scratch cake" is? We do have our own language here.

3 weeks from Thursday we fly out of here. Anyone else coming in on Thursday?

Russ
