We're flying in on Fri and spending the night at POFQ. Hopefully, we'll see you and Miss Vivian in the terminal on Sat.

It will be Wed. (my first day off) but I will type it up and send it out to you. When you taste this you will see why I am as big as I am.

Russ:jester:

Sounds like a fun birthday!!! Ok you need to add me to the list for the recipe!!! That sounds so delicious!!

Happy belated Russ. That cake sounds delish. I can't believe three weeks! Verified all travel docs and copies are in both carry-ons last night. Hubby is FINALLY getting excited. He even bought some tropical shirts. This is a major feat since he normally only wears dark green, dark blue, and black shirts with Jeans. period. He has even started wearing shorts and sandals. :p

See you all soon!!!!!

I got my caribbean style shirt for the Mexicalifragilistic... dinner.

We didn't want to get a shirt that I would just wear once, but my wife found one at costco that has a collar and that I could wear to work. I just don't normally wear shirts with flower patterns on them to work. But otherwise it is just like the ones I wear every day. And it was only $11 and change.

So, I think we are ready.

- Bobby

Now that is one thing I didn't have to purchase. I love those things. I have two or three older ones I wear around town on my days off.
We have a matching Mickey/Minnie Hawawian shirt & dress we wear on tropical type nights. Yeah, yeah, it's tacky but is so much fun.

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in a long time, but have been trying to keep up on our thread. I can't wait, our cruise is coming up so fast! I have been busy this summer getting ready for our wedding in 2 and 1/2 weeks! We just made excursion reservations this morning. It is so hard to decide what to do, having never been to these places. We are doing our own thing in Key west, I figure that should be easy enough. In Cozumel we are going on the kayaking adventure - I hope I will do ok, I have never done this before. My soon to be husband is on a dragon boat team so he should be fine. Has anyone ever done this? How is it for beginners? We had thought about going horseback riding in Cozumel but it is so expensive. I saw a lot of posts about horse back riding in grand caymen, so I emailed someone named Nicki to inquire.

Hey Russ,
I just bought My fiancee and myself a micky surf shirt and matching dress to wear on the cruise. I am glad we aren' t the only ones! We have never bought matching clothes before (at least not on purpose!) and I thought it would be fun for our honeymoon cruise. He just rolled his eyes and said, "Okay".
See you all soon,
Stephanie

Steph, you tell your soon to be DH he is a good guy for doing this. I have been following Miss Vivian's lead in matters like this for 34 1/2 years now. I believe that you have the same ones as we do. We live close to the Disney Store Warehouse/Shipping Center and they have an outlet store there. We got ours for like $5 each.
We will be in the air 3 weeks from right now.

Russ, PLease tell me you haven't forgotten about the receipe. Have been trying to guess what the ingredients might be!! Went to the store and stocked up on smooth and chunky peanut butter!;) Don't want to rush you, just anxious to make the cake. thanks :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Elaine

For those of you who asked and even those who didn't - The Famous Peanut Butter Pound Cake with Chocolate Frosting.

1/2 Cup peanut butter
1 cup Crisco
1/4 Cup Crisco Oil
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
5 Eggs
2 Cups plain flour
1 Cup Self-Rising flour
1 Cup Milk

Cream together the first 4 ingredients. Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Take out 1 1/2 cups of batter and put 1 1/2 tablespoons of Cocoa in this and mix. Pour other batter into greased tube pan. Then take Cocoa batter and whirl it into the batter. Whirl around a few times. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Put a pan of water on the rack under the cake to keep it moist. This makes a large cake.

Icing

1 box powdered sugar
1/2 stick margarine, melted
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. cocoa
Milk
Mix all ingredients together. Add milk until right for spreading.

Gather the family around the table with a gallon of cold milk. As soon as the cake is iced - dig in and eat it warm.

If per chance the cake falls - don't worry - I like to eat these right out of the pan hot while Miss Vivian make another.

Steph - What is a Dragon Boat? Out here in SC we have Bass boats and even some Shrimp boats but I have never seen a Dragon Boat.

russ, Thank you from my daughter and son and husband and me:p I will be up early tomorrow and make this yummy cake and take one to the teachers at school and one for the family.
HOpe it turns out as good as it sounds. :p Elaine

a chinese style canoe, in which sits 20 paddlers, a tiller and a caller. They have races all over the US and sometimes go to other countries. We went to Canada last weekend. Next spring some of the team is going to Australia. The caller coaches the team and calls the strokes during the race. The tiller steers the boat, and is responsible for the team safety.

Russ, I can't wait to try the peanut butter cake recipe.javascript:smilie(':p')

Wow, I am impressed. I have been 3/4 of the way around the world, been to 6 different countries and have never seen or heard of Dragon Boats until you mentioned it. I bet watching them race is exciting. Thanks for the picture.

How are the wedding plans coming?

Russ

Russ thanks for the recipe.

Steph - thanks for the picture. It doesn't look like each guy has much room. I can imagine they have to work in unison just not to give the guy next to them a black eye! Good luck on the wedding plans.

Is everone ready to go???

We got our transfer coupons from FedEx yesterday. I waited until the last minute to decide how to get from DCL to MCO and they did not come with our documents.
We bought a leather travel document wallet yesterday at Barnes and Noble. It will hold all of our tickets, transfers, coupons, charge cards and IDs in one neat place. My aunt in Dallas had sent me a gift card for B&N for my birthday and we used it to make the purchase. I remember when we used grocery bags to take our clothes for those long ago trips to the beach. As Mama used to say " I have got above my raising".
Today I am making a chart showing each day of our trip and what changes of clothing we may need. We took way too many clothes last trip. We will go over that tonight and decide what clothing we are taking with us. I bought 16 rolls of film at Sam's yesterday and may go back and get one more pack of 8. My son is working on getting us 4 of the Kodak underwater cameras wholesale from a friend. All of you who have never been, BUY MORE FILM THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED. BRING EXTRA CAMERA BATTERIES. We even take an extra camera just in case.
I can't imagine Stephanie having to plan a wedding and then fly cross country (diametricaly) to go on this cruise. Our prayers are with you Stephanie.
By the way, for all of you QVC watchers. They will be in my home town of Greenville, SC next week. Miss Vivian and I plan on attending the Thrusday show. Watch and see if you can see us in the audiance. Cheap Entertainment. Gotta save those coins for the cruise.

We are really getting excited now and can't wait to meet all of you.

Russ :jester: & Miss Vivian :Pinkbounc

PS
We finally have water after 7 months of waiting. YEAH!!

Hi everyone,
I glad you liked the dragon boat picture. We have had a very busy summer between going to all of the dragon boat races, moving and planning for our wedding and honeymoon(the best part!). Only 2 weeks to go tomorrow and we will be married! We have been working hard almost every weekend in my parents backyard. I am very excited because we finally got our cruise documents today. Whoo-hoo! I can't wait to meet everyone.
-Stephanie;)
