Sept 13, 2012 Dream to the Bahamas

Hello, fellow 9/13-9/16 Dreamers! :wave2: There's not a lot of activity on this site yet, but I assume there will be much more closer to the sail date! I'm bringing my close friends and family to come celebrate my Disney Fairytale Wedding to my DF! We're getting married onboard on the 14th while docked at Nassau! As you can imagine, we're VERY excited! :woohoo: 325 days left until embarkation day!

My DBF Fivepin (Judy) mentioned that she has been talking to someone that is getting married on this cruise. She is doing a vow renewal in November. She wanted me to say Hello when I saw you on board. I was wondering if you are who she was talking about?

Welcome! It's been quiet here, but I'm sure it will pick up as we get closer. We have an inside stateroom, too, because we really wanted to see the magical portholes! I think we may also be on Deck 2. :cool1:

I was in one last November. They are cool. My only suggestion if you want pictures of the "magic" (and you will) have a camera always ready. You will here pixie dust then it happens pretty fast.

Hello Everyone
Im new to the board and just booked this cruise for my son's 3rd birthday and would love to get in on the FE how do i go about doing it?

I booked this too late to do the FE, but I would be happy to give your son something for his b-day if you post your stateroom number.pixiedust:

That sounds really neat and is a good idea. I hope we're in the room long enough to enjoy it!

I am taking this cruise with my mom. A test run to make sure she can handle a cruise since she's never been on one and I have already booked Alaska for her 70th Bday next year!

I hope she loves it. I'd bet money that she will. What a wonderful surprise for your mom's birthday.

I did say yes. This cruise is now to celebrate Anthony and my proposal. I am the happiest girl right now. This cruise can not come soon enough now.

:jumping1: Congratulations!!! So happy for you :goodvibes

Hi again everyone! Getting SUPER excited for the cruise!! Trying my best to keep it a secret from mom until the morning of departure!

Ps - what do you guys think is the best thing for sea sickness? Mom has never taken a cruise because she's nervous because she's prone to motion sickness, but she'd expressed interest many times but could just never pull the trigger. So I've made the decision for her, and gotten a verandah room I've cruised several times, but have never had seasickness on the worst nights. I've heard dramamine, bodine, seabands.. what do you recommend?

I recommend bonine with dramamine as a backup. I used wrist bands as well last time, but always with medicine, so I can't say if they would work on their own. If you don't take something during the day (since the ship is stationary), then make sure to take the medicine before the ship has departed from each port (Canaveral, Nassau, and Castaway). That way, the medicine will have kicked in before the sailing gets underway and before dinner starts each night!

I agree that a verandah room is the best way to go. That's what we did last time, since it was our first time cruising, and because I have bad motion sickness. I'm also claustrophobic, so it helped give me a sense of space and some balcony breathing room. Although I must say, we were in the room so infrequently that it didn't make too much of a difference. We will be trying an inside stateroom this time, now that I know the medicine works and that I'm comfortable with the idea of cruising.

Best wishes for happy sailing!

25 days until we embark, and 26 days until I get married!!! Yay!!! :woohoo:

I've had a long day, but doesn't that mean you'll be getting married on the cruise??? OMG. You have to at least give us your cabin number so we can give you something. May not be a lot but well wishes sure do mean a lot.

We are celebrating our 14 year anniversary on the cruise.

I would have her take dramamine or bonine at night before bed. And get some ginger chews (like Chimes brand) to use during the day.

But truly, the ship movement might not bother her at all. It seems like there are different types of motion sickness - like my sister gets extremely motion sick on cars or busses, but she does fine on a cruise.

Thanks for your quick answers! I will stock up ahead of time just in case. I think ill get her one of those seabands, too. Whether they work or not, shes very into holistic medicine so I feel like she'd like them.

Going on my first Disney Cruise with my 4 1/2 y/o . He is 41" ..Do you think they will be little nice and let him on the aqua duck as long as I ride with him. We are all super excited and we will be coming in from Washington DC:)

They let my little ones ride with older siblings sometimes. Other times they required me to ride with. I think it depends on who is manning the station.

Can't wait! Our first ever cruise, and it's to celebrate our 20th Anniversary! Sailing on the Dream 3 night Bahamas leaving on 9/13! We are totally new to cruising but so excited and don't want to miss out on anything. We would live to be a part of any FE gifting...anyone that could fill me in on that I would greatly appreciate it.

Happy upcoming anniversary! Did our first cruise for our 40th on the Dream. The Dream is beautiful! Have a wonderful time!

Hey, I saw there are a lot of FL residents going now. We're going to be coming from my brand new house (yay! we finally closed and moved in!!) in Kissimmee. Would anybody be interested in sharing a limo?? I was just going to have my dad drop my mom & I off, but I thought this would make it even more special for her birthday :lovestruc

Hi everyone!

I know that the Group 1 list has officially close last week, and there are still people just booking the cruise that are displaying an interest in joining the FE. I have decided that instead of just Pixie Dusting those who want to join, that I will spearhead the Group 2 sign up.

Anyone interested in signing up for Group 2 can PM me with their details (Cabin #, Number of people cruising, child/adult/ages/genders [if you wish], fav characters) to me (not in the board itself...board requests will not be honorer) by Monday, September 3, 2012 at 11:59 pm EST.

Anyone that is already in Group 1 is free to sign up for Group 2 if interested, but doesn't have to give a 2nd set of gifts to other participants from Group 1. Please keep in mind the cutoff date is 10 days prior to our sailing, so if you have time sensitive gifts to figure in that there may be people joining late.

If you are already part of FE Group 1 being lead by Mom2Kyle, please mention that in your PM to me. I will have a final posting of the Group 2 ONLY list available on or around Thursday Sept. 6 for interested parties.

Hope this helps all of us last-minute cruisers (esp those on FL Res Rates),
Matt

Yes! FivePin/ Judy is a part of the Disney Cruise Brides forum! She mentioned she had a friend coming along! Be sure to stop me to say Hi when you see me- I'll be wearing white dresses the whole cruise!!

Well, Happy Anniversary to you! Yes, I'm getting married onboard on 9/14 while we're docked in Nassau! I'm terribly excited! DF and I are in Cabin #9674- I hadn't even thought to leave a fish extender (I'm already leaving large swag bags at each of my guests' staterooms, I don't have any available time or funds to participate in additional fish extenders unfortunately!) but I guess I could leave a bag by my door! Also, feel free to stop me to say "Hi"- I'll be wearing white dresses the whole cruise!

O.k., so in the course of getting everything ready I seem to have made a mistake on my own information! Our cabin number is 5046, seems I mistyped it. Sorry!!

Annette
