I just got an e-mail from Small World Vacations that there may be a chance that the Sept. 12 Wonder cruise will depart from Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale.

The e-mail says:

"This is still pending at this time depending on whether they can fix the problem at Port Canaveral or not by Sunday. They are working on it on Thursday and Friday.

If you have transfers through Disney Cruise line they will still pick you up at the original pick up location and time but will take you to Ft Lauderdale if that is the case on that day.

If you are taking care of your own transfers please call the cruise line on Saturday Sept 11 to see if this has been decided."

Yeesh...and DCL assured me that we would be coming into Port Canaveral. Can you say "No communication??" I pity the people who have early flights.
I've got my fingers crossed for you 9/12 cruisers...us 9/9ers will keep it in good shape for you.

Ok... don't know what to do here! Ron Jon cancelled my reservation b/c of water damage. I'm flying in Saturday and I don't know whether to get a hotel in Orlando or the airport, or near Port Everglades! I have a headache!!!! I can't get through to anybody in Port Canveral for a hotel. Anybody know what's going on over there? I'm assuming they are mostly closed. Nothing like waiting waiting waiting.........

Thanks for the crossed fingers, Barb! We know you'll do your best to steer that ship back to PC!
I'm traveling with SIL, "Kaykels" (above), so I second the headaches! Our group of 12 is looking to the two of us for answers.... we may just head to the bar!:drinking1

Hey Barb!
We're one of those 9/12 cruisers!
Leaving Long Island on Friday Morning for the "drive of all drives"

Hope you and Tony have a great time!

Let's all cross our fingers! Does anyone know how far Ft. Lauderdale is from WDW?
Thanks!
Kathy

Approximately a 3 hour drive South of Orlando/WDW.

DCL or Carnival or RCI can't make ANY promises for PC until the Port Authority gives them clearance to enter, and that has not come as of yet. They are all at the mercy of the Canaveral Port Authority.
I guess if it were me, I would go to Orlando and take the transportation from there - to whichever port the ships depart. Inconvenient - yes, end of the world - no.
