Sept. 11th, 2004!!! Roll Call!

Hi all! My husband and I will be joining all of you. We can't wait! This is our 6th cruise, but our first Western. I just started reading the boards again. If I start too early before the cruise, well, you know...you just can't stop!
See you soon!:bounce: :bounce:

TraSee...Welcome to the cruise meet board...I see you found us...I just left a reply on another post for you... letting you know we (all of us other dissers who are also sailing on 9/11) were here...if you hadn't already found it...but I see you already found it/us....so Welcome.

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I totally know what you mean about starting to early...I have been hooked for months now. Can't seem to get enough. But before you know it we will be at the dis meet and on the ship. Oh I can't wait.

Welcome TraSee!

I found the forum a couple of weeks ago and it's worked me into a frenzy with excitement. I check the countdown clocks everyday to see how much longer.

Be sure to send Kathy your information if you're interested. Kathy has graciously volunteered to create a cruise roll for us all. Thanks again, Kathy.

Thanks to Lisa SB for the websites for excursions. I have my homework to do this week.b

::MickeyMo Excursions are booked, and we are ready to leave, NOW, why does it still have to be 2 months away. I keep asking DH if we can pack yet :hyper: I keep trying to find more info on everywhere we will be going. It seems so close now, we're in the 60 day mark, 58 till we leave MI and head for sunny FL.

We were debating where we were going to stay on the night of the 10th. We want MIL to be able to see the Magic in all it's glory as we drive up to it, and can see it from miles away :earseek: So, we settled on Titusville. Close, and good view, yet far enough away to get the full effect as we get to port.

Kathy, I emailed you are info, thanks for making up the cruise list.

Anybody got any fun ways to pass the time, we tried paper chains, and stuff, but, need something more exciting :)

Hope to see you all soon.
Angie

Kathy-
What information is everyone emailing you?

Got DD13 princess: booked for her parasailing this morning!:teeth:

Angie (Trekkie518) - I know exactly what you mean. The next 60 days are going to kill me. I see that you're from Michigan. My husband grew up in Birmingham, MI and went to Northern Michigan for college. He also took me fishing on Lake Isabella for our honeymoon. He's owed me this cruise for a long time.

Idb1030 - Kathy is compiling a cruise list. If you would like to participate, she'll need your disney forum name, the names of your party, ages, cabin #, dinner seating, email address, and favorite Disney memory. She's a real peach for doing all this.

There is also a cruise meet being planned for 3:00 near the family pool.

Hope this helps!

Marti

 My kids are somewhat picky eaters. Does the dining room have a special kids menu? I know that they won't eat off the menu's I have seen - Although I can't wait!!! I need to lose ten pounds now so when I gain it on the cruise I'll be back to ground zero!!

Also - can someone explain the rotational dining to me? Thanks

Hi Lisa, there is a kids menu, last time, my son Jeremy, then 10 ate 2 hot dogs, and mac and cheese every night :-) this year he wants to try escargot, go figure :-) you can see the kids menu's at http://**********************/ click on menus and children's menus. they have some good food. I have to admit, we all got the mickey noodles with marinara sauce last time.

:D Thank you so much - yet one more question - what is acceptable for 6 year olds to wear to dinner? Do they have to get dressed up or can they wear shorts?

Hi all!

I waited until the last possible second to make my final payment and I have to say it's a wonderful feeling to know we're paid-in-full! I called today and paid the balance with the AmEx (AmEx bill is due on the 2nd-not looking forward to writing that check) and now our official countdown begins! I made a calendar for my 2-year old son on EXCEL and bought Mickey Mouse stickers to place over each day to help show how soon until we're on "Mickey Mouse's Boat" and now it's all he talks about! Can't wait

Just wanted to share.
Take care!
Sarah

trekkie518 ...We have also made the paper chain...to count down our days. Another fun thing we have been doing is having family disney trip planning nights...once a week (at least)...where we look at the calander, see how much longer we have, talk about what we want to do and see...and try and make trip plans all while having dinner...we then finish the night off with a disney movie or game. It's been fun..and given everyone say in the trip.

Lisa SB ...rotational dinning...first time cruiser here but here's what i know...There are three dinning rooms (Animator's Palate (AP), Parrot Cay (PC) and Lumiere's (L) on the Magic. Each sailing party/state room is assigned a "rotation" where you start in one dinning room on night one, then proceed to the next/new dinning room the next night, then the third dinning room on the third night... on night four you start back over. So whatever dinning room you start in you will be in that room for dinner three nights (night 1,4,7) Not sure if that is helping much at all.. Also the first three nights (I think) are special menus for each dinning room...Then nights 4-7 each dinnig room is serving the same menu (aka, tropical, mexican, best of... or something like that.)

Some say it depends on the age and mix of your party as to what rotation you are assigned...meaning families/groups with younger kids are in PC..or AP ....and groups consisting of mostly adults are started in L...not sure how much you can really go by that though.

So did I totally confusse you more, or help at all???

Hi everyone...it's me...again.:Pinkbounc . I have been wondering...and watching for fellow cruisers with kids around the same age as my girls. I would love to have my older daughter be able to meet/chat with someone her age prior to the cruise...so she feels like she knows someone allready. Sort of like meeting a pin pal. Well she is 11.. and really looking forward to the trip. My other daughter is 6 so I'm hoping there are other's her age also. With there age diffrence...they will be placed in diffrent clubs (I think)...that's why I'm hoping they will meet others.

We just recieved the excursion booklet and gift booklet today...kind of exciting.....even though we don't plan on doing any of the disney excursions.

Also checked our room assignment...still cat 12 gty :)

Hi Jill -
I have twins - girl & boy who are both six! I feel the same way and hope to have some friendships made at the meet & greet so my kids will go into the program easier. We will definitely have to meet up at the Mickey Pool - I think we are trying for 3ish?
Lisa
Justin - 6
Kendall - 6

Hi all! Can you believe how close it is getting?! I live in Orlando and am trying to think of reason I that I need to go to Cocoa Beach just so I can get a glimpse of the ship! I guess we might just have to visit the beach this Saturday when the Magic is in.:smooth:

Kathy...thank you for putting that list together!
Have a great day everyone!

Hello Fellow Cruisers!

I just called in my shore excursions. I usually book on my own, but decided just to go with DCL this time. We're doing the kayak tour in Key West, the Aquaboat and snorkle in Grand Cayman and the jet ski adventure on Castaway Cay. We're debating trying the Jeep Tour or horseback riding in Cozumel...or just hanging on Paradise Beach.:smooth:

Does anyone have any experience kayaking? Our daughter is laughing at us...she thinks it sounds like an excursion for old people (which we are! ) I'm actually concerned it may be strenuous and my husband is concerned that it will be uncomfortable.

Anyway, just had to pop in and share my excitement. I really feel like the countdown is on now!

Happy Planning!

Lisa:wave:

My sister and i will be joining you! This will be our second cruise. Just us two, we cant wait!:Pinkbounc

Welcome Femmfaerie!

Well everyone - I just returned from Disney's Boardwalk :( . Had a wonderful time, sad to leave, but happy that I am one step closer to the big trip!!! I have gotten some great info from everyone - Thank you!! - and will get working on the list right away. Once it is started I will send it out to everyone.

I made my ressie for the Stingray City cruise. After much thinking, we finally decided on the earlier cruise (8:30). I was afraid that my DD would be miserable, not like to water, stingrays or boat so felt the shorter the better. Plus this gives me more time to SHOP!! Next up, I need to call and change my dinner to late dining. I was starting to think we would be rushed with early dining.

Kathy

Welcome Femmefaerie!

Welcome back, Kathy!

We moved our dinner reservations to the 8:30 seating so that we could have more time with excursions. I was just told last night by a true Disney Discussion Board veteren that I had made a mistake that he liked the early dinning so who know's.

Marti

4Sedgs...I think you'll be happy with late seating. But who am I to say :D We have never cruised....Way back when......when we were getting things together with the TA who works with the wish foundation....she was soooo excited for us when she found out we were assigned early dinner seating....But I think she could tell by the look on my face...that it didn't sound to great to me. It didn't take me long (maybe all of two min.) to ask her to change it to late seating lol. We just are not early dinner people...and when you think off all the rushing you'd do at shores...just to get back and get ready for dinner:( ....didn't add up to us...so even if we are few and far between...we are HAPPY to have late dinner seating. btw...we have two kids who will be eatting late with us also.

Looking and weighting the pros and cons of early vs late....late comes ahead no matter how I look at it. Anyway...from the sounds of it there are WAY to many snacks and muchies on the ship to ever get hungery.:hyper:

Scrapperjill...
My husband and I like the early because if we eat late, well, I should say if I eat late...lol....I just want to fall into bed and go to sleep! Early dinner keeps me moving a bit. The downside to early, I think, is that I have had too many helpings of fruit and ice cream at Scoops and I am not really that hungry! Oh well...such problems, huh? Either way...fun, fun, fun!
See you soon!:boat:
