Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

I did get my license updated today. And I called pixie vacations and they have my cruise documents. Said I should get them next week. Now to get dh to go update his license.

Glad to hear you found out about your cruise docs! Good luck with getting your DH to update his license too. :thumbsup2

Whatcha ya'll doin'??? Is everybody happy??!! I'm writing from work.......feels kinda funny to be writing from work. Feels like I should be doing something else. Don't know what that would be though??!!!:confused3 Cuzz I ain't gonea be doin' any work!!!! Ut oh..............better act like I'm doing something.
Well, I better get busy and look like I'm doing some work. Hope everyone has a good day today. Talk to you again soon.:yay::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm just sitting here in Mexico Beach, FL watching the rain. We've had so much rain in the last 30 days that my rain barrel is overflowing. Counting the days until "D" day and realizing I have so much to do and so little time to do it in.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Although our weather has been nice, it hasn't been great these past few days. Today it's been sunny for most of the day, but it's cool LIKE FALL!! I HOPE we haven't seen the end to summer weather here yet!
We are enjoying Tim's new kitten named Slippers (cause it looks like she has slippers on her feet), but our BIG cat Shnuggles, doesn't seem too happy that she's here.
I took my group of kids to one of the local public wading pools on Tuesday, and called today to the City's department in charge of those wading pools to tell them of our experience. We'd never been to that particular park before and I was greatly disappointed. The staff seemed to only pay attention to the local area kids, and paid no mind whatsoever to the 6 that I brought. There was crafts but we weren't told when that started, nor could we SEE where they were doing those. My biggest complaint was regarding all cigarette butts scattered around the pool area on the grass (where we had set up our big picnic blanket) and all the garbage strewn along the ground at the back fence. The department person I spoke to seemed to appreciate my thoughts, and did tell me where more wading pools are located, closer to my home, and are much nicer parks. She said that someone will address the issues I brought up.
Our plans for the next few weeks are to park hop a few times a week to some of these bigger parks with the wading pools (better than the splash pads). That should keep the kids happy.

Has anyone seen the movie "The Help" yet? I want to see it. I've taken Tim out to 2 movies so far this week. I'm trying to use up my SCENE points I've accumulated for the past 3 years. One more movie for two, FOR FREE. Can't beat that! Tim would like to go tonight to see the Smurfs, but if I can find a friend to go see the other one with, I'll leave the little guy home with his dad :)

DH and I went to see Cowboys and Aliens. I didn't expect to like it, but it wasn't bad, action packed.

Thats what Tim chose on Tuesday. He really liked it, I thought it was good. Last night we saw the new Harry Potter one in 3D. I loved it, Tim fell asleep for the last 15 minutes of it. LOL I was a little nervous taking him to see Cowboys and Aliens, and he ended up being the ONLY child in the entire theatre, but he LOVED the movie, and thats what matters the most. It's rated PG I think anyway. I saw the movie PAUL a few months ago, a preview screening of it. Now THATS a restricted movie. There was a young family with 4 kids ages 6 down to 1 and the mom was like 9 months along with another one. They came in and sat in the front row. I couldn't BELIEVE it!! It was definatley a great comedy IMO but also definately not for kids.
Last week we saw CARS 2. Doesn anyone know what NEW movies might be played on board, thats not out yet?

Just wanted to let ya'll know the Dream is in Port Canaveral today. She will sail out this evening around 5:00pm or so. Well, I better get back to work or I may be on a permenant retirement!!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: Course that can't be all that bad!!!:woohoo::yay:

Judy, I can't for the life of me think of a new Disney film coming out that might be shown on the Dream when we are on board. Does anyone know what movies they have coming up that might be out then?:confused3

Tim and I just watched the Sail Away!! WOW, we're both REALLY excited for OUR turn!! The Florida Skies look not too appealing on the web cam, but still who cares if you're ON that ship right? :)

Judy DW and I watched the Dream sail out too!!! You are right the skies there in Port Canaveral did look overcast. It was sunny here on the other side of Florida -and HOT!!!:sunny: But like you said - who cares what the skies look like - as long as we are on board the Dream!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Somebody jump on this one quick -- there's a Serenity Bay adult-only cabana available right now. $399 all day up to 4 guests. $50 extra person up to 10 guests. Includes floats and one hr bike rental.

I don't have that kind of dough or I'd snap it up!!

On another note ...

What movies do you think we'll have? I'm hoping for the latest Pirates since we haven't seen it.

Cowboys & Aliens looks like our kind of movie. :) But we'll wait for it to show up at the local $3 theater.

.

We are hoping for Pirates of the Caribbean 4 also. :thumbsup2 We just rewatched the first three with my DH. He had not seen them.

We would also like to see the new Pooh movie but there is no way we would pay movie prices to go see it.:rotfl2:

Cars 2 was great.

We did not get to see any movies our other two cruises so we are really looking forward to it.

I took my 5yo niece to see Pooh opening weekend. It was cute, but I was bored mid-way through. And it's only about an hour. But I'm not exactly the target audience. :rotfl:

BUT the animation is great, the voices are spot on, and Zoe Deschanel does a great great job with the songs!

We're not doing the FE, but will there be a DisBoards meet on the ship sometime?

The only thing that comes in your cruise docs aafdmom is your luggage tags. And, you can get those at the terminal when you drop off your luggage. But, I'm sure your docs will arrive here shortly. They may be in your mail box now!!!

I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. I know, I know, I know it is still early.............but you just got to love the fact that in about 26 days we will be getting ready to get on board the Dream!!!:yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Last fall on our Magic cruise, since we drove down, we had more luggage with us than we would have with the airlines, AND my FE gifts took up two big boxes. We were short 5 luggage tags but had also been told we can get them at the port from the porters. Well we told our porter we needed 5 more luggage tags. He didn't have any on him but said he'd take care of it, and we tipped him HUGE. Well on board 5 pieces of our luggage did not at any time that afternoon or evening, show up at our stateroom. It was later, after dinner, when I was feeling Greatly sea sick, that my DH went to Guest Services to seriously ask about our missing luggage, one of which contained my meds. They had him go around into their back room with them, and low and behold THERE was all our missing pieces along with various other's luggage. Our luggage had BLANK tags on them, so of course no one knew what stateroom to take them to. Our lesson learned, Don't leave it up to the porters. Get the tags from them but write your own info on them. :thumbsup2

Good information to know Judy. Thanks for sharing. We have never had to get luggage tags from the porters at the terminal, but everyone on here has said you can get the luggage tags from the porters. I hope everyone gets their cruise docs so they have the luggage tags before they leave home.:thumbsup2

Also, wanted to let ya'll know the Dream is in Port Canaveral today. Lets all watch the sail away together this evening around 5:00. It's a date!!!:thumbsup2

I'll do my best to watch too! I'm heading out now with 7 kids to head to the wading pool park for the day. Only one child, my DS13 has gone AWOL and DH isn't answering his cell Hmmmmmmmmm, this delay may cost him the trip to the wading pool (or is this possibly what he was hoping for?) :)
