Hello Everyone... we (8) are now booked for the cruise... everyone wanted there own cabins so what the heck their all paying there own way sure go for it... booked everyone on Wed. night in cat.06B.... now the countdown begins...wooohooo... it is our second Disney Cruise and everyone elses first...

DW and I watched the floatout of the Dream yesterday. Did anyone else??? It was a great site to see. Above is a link to a German TV news show from yesterday. Of course it is in German, and I don't speak German, but you can pick up a word or two every now and then. It shows the floatout and fireworks and also some pictures from the inside of the ship. Well worth checking out.

Click on the link above - give it a couple of seconds to open up to some choices you can choose from. In the upper right hand corner, click on Startseite - type Papenburg in the box and then click on Suchen. It will give you several choices, but click on Das Disney - Traumschiff Dockt Aus and enjoy. If it doesn't work the first time start all over and try again. It took me a couple of tries to open up Das Disney - Traumschiff Dockt Aus, but it is worth it. Enjoy all.

I see your doing the back to back... we are hoping that our waitlist on the members cruise on the 18th come through for us.... we are all staying at WDW for 4 days after the cruise so if it comes through for us we will be doing a Dream cruise -WDW - Members Dream cruise

Well I have just realized that we are only 10 months away and We don't even know for sure if my step-sons are aloud to go yet! I told Mike he needs to find out this week so we can get passports. I guess we weren't as ready as I thought.

(We are waiting for Disney to announce the dates for Homeschool Days, then we can choose a cruise either before or after those dates) I am thinking since this one is in the middle of September it will most likely be the best one.

I'm counting down days now to retirement day!!! It was months, then weeks, now it is days. Well, actually, I still should be counting weeks, but what the hey!!! I'm counting work days - Monday thru Friday. At Christmas time DW and I are off the week between Christmas and New Year's. So, my last day at work will be Thursday December 23rd. We get the 24th off as a holiday since Christmas falls on a Saturday this year. So, it is 32 working days until RETIREMENT!!!!! (So if any of you out there in DIS Land want to get me a retirement or Christmas gift..................I have made a list.)

We are back, the trip was Phenomenal!!! What a difference Dissers can make!!
Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Key West all had BEAUTIFUL weather. We had a brief shower in Key West, but we had just gotten on the Trolley so stayed dry! Our Castaway Cay day, was good. It was very windy at times, the sea waters VERY choppy, the lagoon not so much, but the water was too cold for me (and I'm from Canada). DS7 had fun in the water, but DS13 had been ill the night before, so stayed on the ship for the morning in our stateroom with DH who had developed an ear infection. They joined us at about lunch time, and then DS13 just had fun in the sand with a friend. Toward the end of the day, he did make it out into the water. It was Sunny, and warm but not HOT, so all in all it was pleasant (just wished the water had been warmer). But then again, FLORIDA was COLD when we arrived back in port too! I wasn't prepared for that! I had only left out t-shirts, shorts and sandals for us all to wear on debarkation day. No sweaters, or jackets. BRRRRRRR!

Welcome Back Judy. Glad you had a GREAT time. But I knew you would. Yeah it's been chilly down here in the ol' Sunshine State. Can't wait for it to warm back up again. It's suppose to later this week. When you get a chance post some pics of your cruise. Usn' landlubers are wanting to see some photos of the Magic and your vacation. Glad you had a nice and safe vacation. We were thinking of you and your family!!!

I read on Myer Werft's website that the Dream is going to be conveyed down the river Ems in Germany this Friday/Saturday. Sounds like they are a little ahead of schedule on her!!! I also read on here somewhere that Disney gets the "keys" to the Dream on Dec 9th!!!! I hope there will be a webcam available for all to see Disney getting the "keys to the Dream.

Well, Well hmmmmmmm. Sorry to say, but after some lengthy discussion with my hubby and our friends, and future income.... We've decided to cancel our Dream Cruise For the Fantasy in two years from now. There are plusses to that for us, and although some negatives (not cruising with you all, and having to wait yet an added year), we feel it's best to wait 2 years and not have to pull our son out of school (we'll do an August cruise on the Fantasy). Our friends have rebooked for that Fantasy one and my kids and DH really enjoyed their buddies. I'm gonna miss chatting with you all. David, if the Fantasy is in your Future, consider the August 25th 2012 one!!!! I've yet to contact my TA but the decision's been made. It was weighing heavy on me as I was hoping we could swing both the Dream and the Fantasy, but thats not in the cards right now. You are all a great group, and I do hope you all have a blast on the Dream!!! If you need any graphics, just ask, I'm still doing those!

I so couldn't believe we had to do that too. My income relies on someone else having a job, and currently that someone else has a job interview this morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

And call me crazy, but I think I may be able to salvage part of this trip. I talked to DH last night, and we are thinking of making this a MOMMY AND ME trip for my youngest and me for just the 4 night portion, not the B2B. The price is so Great, I think I can do it. Will know for sure by next week. Keep your fingers crossed.

My only concern would be (but not enough to stop me LOL), that my now 13 year old would have his nose out of joint. But they will find out this Christmas about the Fantasy Cruise for 2012. And next summer will be when both find out about Tim's and my Mommy and me trip (if I do it), and if explained that we didn't have the funds for everyone to go, and that he is getting a fabulous trip the following year, and be sure to spoil him next summer, then I think he'll be ok with the Tim and I trip in September.

I've been watching Dream videos and Tim7 keeps asking "PLEASE please please can we go on the Dream???" His Birthday is in July so this would actually be a fabulous Birthday gift to him. He's my baby and will always be my baby (isn't that how it goes with the youngest?)
I'd drive to Syracuse and fly out of there. I've got all the costs figured and this trip could happen entirely (all costs excluding souveniers, but all transportation and cruise costs, OH, excluding tips, but I can add that) for $2000.00,,,,,,, So, I think I think, maybe..........

Judy I am so sorry to hear you and your family are not taking this cruise. All of us on here are sure going to miss you. Hopefully you will be able to do the Mommy and Son cruise. All of us will keep our fingers crossed for you. DW and I discussed waiting to do the Fantasy when it came out. We talked and talked and talked and talked and talked...........well you get the picture. (To be honest with ya'll it was DW who did all of the talking............I just listened.....................any way I listened some of the times!!!!) In all probably we will book a cruise on the Fantasy while on board the Dream. I hope there will be some openings for the August 25th sailings. But seriously though, I understand the money situation. With me retiring here in January it will probably put a kink in our vacation budget. But I do plan on working part-time, mostly to be able to cruise with Disney. Seriously, I am sure someone will have to cancel and a stateroom you want will become available soon. It happens all of the time. And, with your TA on the lookout for you I'm sure they will find just what you are looking for. We all are keeping our fingers crossed for you. And, like you said, there is still plenty of time for a stateroom to open up for you. So, hang in there, I am postive you will get that stateroom you want.
