Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

David, my heart bleeds for you! Poor you, having to live in sunny Florida.:rotfl: You are too funny! I do have to say though, that I LOVE all four seasons. Yes, even winter. I just wish winter didn't last so long. We got lucky this year with our unusually warm spring. However, we may see a few snow flakes this weekend as it is going to go down in the 30's. I will be thinking of you suffering with your palm trees. Have I mentioned that I LOVE palm trees. I refuse to vacation anywhere that does not have palm trees!

Tj, glad that you are doing well.

Donna

Hey David I have a question for you, since you LIVE in Florida and all. We stayed in Orlando last fall prior to our Cruise. We found the grass there Weird compared to our grass here at home. The grass around our hotel and the grass on the medians between the road ways ect..... That grass was very green but also VERY coarse. The blades were very wide as well. We definately did not want to be walking on that stuff in our bare feet! Our grass here, the blades are narrower, and it's very comfortable to walk on in bare feet, and is very green (if watered, lol), but a different shade of green than what we saw in FL. Now is the grass we experienced in Orlando pretty much the type of grass all over, even on residential properties?
Just curious. Yah, my pain meds are having an effect on my brain.:hippie:

TJ - The grass down here in Florida is what you would call a form of crabgrass in Ohio and northern states. It is a hardy grass that can stand the long hot summers down here. It won't hurt you to walk in it with your bare feet. But as you said it is a broad blade grass and it is coarse compared to your grass. Yes the grass you saw in Orlando is what you will see most all over Florida. It is the grass of choice down here. It has a very long root system to go down looking for water. That is if you don't water too much, then the root system is shallow and when the long hot summer days hit it will turn brown and die. My know-it-all neighbor likes to water almost everyday. Then if he goes on vacation and turns off his sprinklers for 2 weeks, then he comes home to a dead lawn!!! I laugh, and laugh, and laugh!!!!:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:
Oh yes, TJ glad to hear you are felling better. I knew you could do it.

Donna - Whew!!!!! I'm glad someone feels sorry for the suffering I go thru EACH AND EVERY DAY down here in Florida.:scared1: It's a hard life........sipping on my iced tea, feet up in a hammock tied between two palm trees!!!!:beach: (Trying to give you a mental picture of an average day in the life of good ol' David!!!!!) WHEN I'M NOT MOWING THE LAWN!!!!!!!
You guys have a great day. I better get back to work. Talk to you later.

It is cold and cloudy here. Guess you better stay where you are!:goodvibes

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Donna

Ragdoll, Cold and cloudy? We are having the same weather here. It's supposed to rain all weekend (currently it's 4 C, I think thats about 40 F, I think I packed away the winter wear a little too soon).... BUT by Tuesday, back to Sunshine and Warmer Temps.

Today, I feel pretty much back to my regular self, just some minor belly discomfort, but nothing that is continually bothersome, Man Oh MAN, I hope that never happens again.
So since I can't do gardening, or hiking (too cold, and too much walking just yet), and I did some housework yesterday (my bathrooms are gleaming!) I think I'm going to head off the the theatre with my boys and see "How To Train Your Dragon" Watched part of it on Project free tv last night, and it's looks good enough to see in theatres! It's the first full weekend OFF I've had in what seems like forever! (and as of the end of May, I'll have EVERY weekend off for like, Forever!)
Have a fabulous day everyone, especially Ragdoll, who's weather isn't necessarily conducive to outdoor fun and relaxation. :) Oh, and I suppose that goes for you too Goofydad!

Thought I would pop in this morning and wish everyone a Happy Sunday.

Hey we are having some rain down here in sunny Florida today too.:cool1::banana: That is a good thing. April is usually one of our drier months. So getting rain today is, as my gradson would say AWESOME!!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:Getting ready to head out to Lowe's, (Home Improvement Store), and getting some stuff for home improving. That sounds like more work for ol' David here!!!:confused3 Gona wait for the rain to let up some, sugar melts you know!!!:lmao::lmao:
Hope ya'll have a great week-end. See ya soon.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING Everyone! Oh, is this TOOOOOooooo Earrrrrrly for you? I've been awake since 3 am, and up since 4 (knew I shouldn't have gone to bed extra early last night).

LOL, TODAY DS17 was SUPPOSED to go for his Driving Test to get his G2 License (We have a graduated licensing system here. For the 1st year they have a G1, which is a learners permit, and can ONLY drive with a Licensed Adult in the Car. A G2 involves the Road Test and once acquired, they no longer need a licensed driver in the car with them but are still restricted as to how many passengers and no driving after dark, basically, on our Major Highways). So I had DREADED today! I had dreaded the persistent begging for our car to go here or there. I had dreaded the constant nagging we'd be giving him about bringing the car back with an empty tank ect..... I dreaded this all and more up until last Friday!

Friday is when my DH just happened to be in DS's room, collecting dirty dishes, and came across DS's Report Card. DH thought it interesting as WE Already had DS's Report Card upstairs???????? OH YES,,,, DS gave us a PHOTO COPY of his report card, (which I thought nothing of at the time), BUt DH smelled Something Fishy...... So he brought it upstairs and we compared the original with the photo copy..... Hmmmmmmm, Those marks LOOK different! DS17 ACTUALLY CHANGED HIS MARKS! Rotten @#$$$%$$#@#$ kid! What a stupid thing to do. Funny thing is, while he was being stupid, he was actually smart. He didn't change them too much, But JUST enough to keep the parental Comments about his marks, away!

SO, CONSEQUENCE? Thought of taking his computer away, after all we're SUPPOSED to make the punishment fit the crime right? And he did use that computer to and scanner to change the marks, BUTTTTT, Nahhhhh, have to get him where it will hurt. ROAD TEST!!!! NO ROAD TEST!

So My Day has gone from one I had Dreaded, to one I am happy to wake up to! :yay: Too bad it won't be the same kind of day for DS17!

Wow TJ, I thought DW & I got up way too early thru the week. We get up at 4:15 am each & everyday Monday thru Friday, so when the week-ends come around if we sleep until 6:00 am we consider ourselves as sleeping in that morning!!!:scared1::scared1:
I thought our DS when he was that age TJ was a stinker. He did try to change his report card too, but nothing as smart as yours. Our son made a D- into a D+, and managed to change an F into an A. The thing is the F he had was in his worse subject, so we knew there was no way he got an A. Of course we didn't have all of the new fangled equipment at our disposal back in those stone age times. A hammer and a chisel did just fine!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: You and your DH sound like good parents, make the punishment fit the crime, which is what we did too at that time. That is the only way they will learn!!!
Well, I can see by the ol' clock on the wall, it's time for me to start work. Talk to ya'll later!!!:yay:

What kind of work is that you have to get to? Mowing your grass? :rotfl2:

:lmao: at tj! I sure don't miss those days! Grandkids are much easier!:thumbsup2

Tj, our weather does sound like yours. We had a cold, cloudy, rainy weekend.
It is sunny today with temps heading into the 50's. This is normal April weather for us. Have to make sure I get my walk in today as I slacked off this weekend.

Donna

What kind of work is that you have to get to? Mowing your grass? :rotfl2:

I wish that was all I had to do was mow the grass. I work at a commercial printing company in Clearwater, FL in the estimating dept. When the ol' bossman is away, I have to run the show. In other words, I'm still doing MY job, but also HIS job.:scared1::scared1: Last week he takes the week off. (He has way too much vacation time in my opinion!!!) Some times I run into myself during the day!!! I have to be at work by 7:00am. DW and I ride together, I drop her off and then go on into work. We have almost a one hour commute one way to work. I would rather get in there and get it over with!!! But we can see a light at the end of the ol' tunnel. We're planning on retiring here in a few years. :woohoo::woohoo:

WOW! I've missed so much I need to try to keep up with this page better.
TJ I'm glad your feeling better. :yay:

Well, good morning everyone! Beautiful Blue sky this morning, and the sun is shining in my window, Looks like a promising day today.

Who's watching the NHL palyoffs? Tonight Our very own Ottawa Senators play the penguins. Of course I'm rooting for the Sens! But if the Penguins win tongihts game, the Sen's can start their golphing season a bit early! (at least our very own Sydney Crosby will move on).

DS6 was COMPLETELY MISERABLE this morning. Although he did go to bed at a decent time last night, he still looked SO TIRED 45 minutes after getting up. The arguing started when I told him to get ready for school. When he's this bad, I send him back to bed. He actually did fall asleep again, but now an hour later, he's back up and hungry, but when I told him I'll be WALKING him to school once he's dressed, he's now saying he wants to go back to bed. No Temp, so I WILL be walking him to school, it's a beautiful day out anyway, the walk will be nice.

Ragdoll, has your weather improved too? Right now we are at 41 F but it's supposed to go up to 66 F!!

Wow Goofydad24 you sure do put forth an impressive offer. A snow blower that was broken, and with a few well placed hits by a hammer it comes to life!!!:thumbsup2 I'm just glad you didn't hit your thumb while beating up your snow blower with a hammer!!!!:rotfl2: And, you are so kind as to include a mini-zoo!!!!!!!! (Secretly, you were a car salesman in another life.............right???) I too have a min-zoo of my own at home. They too would come with the home. (I hope you know German as that is the only language command "Killer" understands to not attack on sight!!!:scared1:) He is really a ***** cat once he gets calmed down.:yay: (Just don't let him lick your face...............once.............just once he forgot and...................................well I better not say any more.:sad2::sad2:)
Let me think this over, and I''l get back to you!!!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Our weather is exactly the same as yours. I am just waiting for the grass to dry so I can cut it again. It is growing so fast that I have to cut it every five days or so. Crazy for April!

We are basketball fans here. Our Cleveland Cavaliers are favored to win the championship. They won the first two playoff games against Chicago. Hopefully they pull it off. A championship would give Cleveland a much needed boost.
