Thanks for all the hugs you guys! :grouphug: We are very thankful she is at peace. We really learned how awful brain cancer is, and pray none of you ever have to deal with it for a loved one. (Stealing a few minutes on the computer now.)

So sorry for your loss Mandy!

Yeah, I know I'm stalking the thread. Just try to kick me off. ;)

Those jumping onto Ebay and buying dresses, perhaps some will want to talk behind screens to make sure no dresses are showing up double, tripple and more? I could see where some perhaps wouldn't be too happy about that?

To give an idea of what is possible, I've bought this dress myself. Not sure which night I'll be wearing it, am leaning towards semi-formal.

Beautiful dress!!

It is so sad, i've seen lots of news footage today and it is heartbreaking. :sad2: I hope everyone in Hawaii and the West Coast will be safe from the Tsunami.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all impacted by the earthquake and tsunamis. Very scary pictures!

Karen

We have friends right in Sendai, Japan, and we haven't heard from them yet. That was where the worst of it was so we are praying they are okay!

So, what are they doing at WDW instead of the Halloween party? Have they just rescheduled it? I know you're disappointed....but hey, maybe you can do the WBTA again NEXT YEAR and catch the Halloween party then!!! :thumbsup2

We were at WDW a few years ago earlier in September and they had the party then, surely they'll have it on that weekend. :worried:

+ Goofologist and Pixie Dust for Me!

Please send me a PM with your 8 digit Disney Reference / Real Name / Main or Late Seating and I will get all you added to the list.

The only thing I can guarentee is that we will be inthe same area, however I will be sure to put special requests in.

YAY!

Dan

Just FYI, for those of you planning to "link" your ressie for dining, be aware that if 5 or more ressies are linked, the people with those ressies will be unable to make any changes to their cruise, :scared1: i.e. adding excursions, Palo's, spa, etc.

I found this out the hard way last year for our Med cruise, when I tried to get a group of 3 large tables put together for the same dining room/rotation. Since I didn't want to essentially lock up everyone's reservation, we then decided to let everyone choose their own table groups and make their own "links". :thumbsup2

Putting the groups together for dining can still be done without affecting your reservation...you just have to be very creative! :goodvibes

If I remember correctly, the way we did it last year was to wait until everyone was paid in full, had made their ressies etc. before we did the dining link. I don't think it created any problems but I of course could be wrong.

Thanks for letting me know. Disney certainly did not. I will keep that in mind for when I submit this to DCL.

What's up with Mickey's Halloween party? That's the first I've heard they may not have it.

So, what are they doing at WDW instead of the Halloween party? Have they just rescheduled it?

It's not that they aren't having it, it's just that, according to the park hours for Sept, it may only be on Tuesdays and Fridays. The two nights closest to our cruise dates will be 9/23 (the Friday before we arrive) & 9/27 (the Tuesday after). According to allears, they had it on the Friday & Saturday (9/24 & 9/25) last year, so they may yet add Saturday.

We were planning to go in October, after our anniversary cruise, like we did the last two years, but if they do add Saturday the 25th, we just might do that instead. For some reason, I was thinking we arrived on Sunday, not Saturday, and we'd be driving straight home that day. But I'd rather stay over Saturday night and drive home on Sunday.

I think that's what we'll do - AFTER we've booked our Palo!

Thanks! It's good to be back home - we had so much fun! :hippie: We LOVE New Orleans!

From what I gather it's just those two nights they won't have the Halloween party...apparently they don't have it every night. They haven't come out with the date yet so they could change it.

WBTA next year.......I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK GIRL! :rotfl: I'll just go another time....never really need an excuse to go for me! :cloud9:

Wonder if our same waiter/waitress (Jay/Melonie?) are on the cruise this year? Wouldn't that be a hoot? Roger will have to come up with a new trick for stump Jay this time!

Rumour has it that the Magic won't be going to Europe next year, but we will have to wait and see. Can't think what she would do if she didn't.

Roger had mentioned them - I think he's got something planned for Jay. :rotfl2: Look out, Jay!
We enjoyed both of them so much, they were a great team. :cheer2:

Interesting...
I think the Magic should just stay in Europe :thumbsup2 so I have another excuse to visit. :goodvibes

I knew Roger would be up to the challenge! We'll all look forward to it! They were an awesome combo!

Rick said that he doesn't really mind whether we eat late or early shift....so if you two have a preference, let us know.

Have a great evening! Happy birthday to your baby! :bday:

We are signed up for Main Dining, so we'll see. I'll plan to link us later as we get a little closer to sailing. Maybe I can request the Jay/Melanie team. :goodvibes

Yep my baby is 19 today!!! Can't believe how fast the time has gone. Thanks for the birthday wishes for her....it's Thai food tonight, per her request. :flower3:

Will we still be able to make Palo/spa/etc ressies once we're on board? I'm thinking in terms of changing Palo dinner or adding a brunch.

We did a great private taxi tour that took in the siege tunnels as well as the rock, right up where the tour buses don't get to, and the caves plus a couple of other short stops that were interesting and great for photos. It was all interesting.

:thumbsup2We really enjoyed the caves too. Monkeys not so much. :scared1:

I believe you can add or change anything once onboard.
(The problem arose when trying to change things online if your account was linked with 4 or more other reservations...the online system wouldn't allow any changes, thus locking your account.)

If anyone has any other information regarding this, please let us know - I'm definitely NOT an authority on this. :hippie:

We did this same type of tour on the EBTA and were able to get so much closer than the DCL buses; very interesting. The drive was a bit of a white-knuckle experience (crazy, crazy driver), but that's what makes travel fun. You just pick up an official tour taxi right outside the port (ticket counter is inside). Didn't plan to do it this time, but DD hasn't been to Gibraltar before, so...off to see the Rock again! I can't believe the shops will be closed :headache:. I hope the tours are running.

welcome: We're Dennis and Pat. This will be our 3rd cruise (all DCL) and first time over 4 nights. It's my present to me for the "anniversary of my 39th birthday." (Actually, that's in August, but DCL wouldn't change the date of the cruise for me).
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. We are Pat, Larry, and Jessica. We'll be celebrating Larry's 65th bd (yep, it's a big one), although he's been happily retired for the past 8 yrs. It's actually 10/15, but DCL wouldn't change the date for me, either!

We had torrential rains in NE PA yesterday/last night, with a thin coating of water in parts of our finished basement to greet us this morning. We were moaning and groaning until I turned on the tv and saw the earthquake/tsunami. Definitely put things in perspective...I happily mopped up the water before Larry took over the cleanup and I went to work. The pictures are mind-boggling. I can't even imagine. :worried:

Does Disney have late night buffets or "chocolate night buffets"? I've been on other cruises that have late night themed buffets (not every night) but not sure if Disney does the same.

I would definately need an extra bag......I love to shop.

Me too, it's a nice little reminder every day.

DH always throws in a collapseable duffle bag in our luggage. He knows I will have no problem filling up:yay:

He's limiting me to one large suitcase so not sure I'll be bringing much to London. I have to have room for clothes shopping and cruise tee shirts. That's one reason we may not be dressing up this cruise; I have to make choices. Black slacks and a couple pretty tops; that will be me.
