*Sept 10th 2011 WB Transatlantic* - From Spain to Space Mountain - Part 6

Well all, had quite a scare, spent last 4 days in hospital with possible gall bladder issues needing surgery, ended up being a stomach ulcer, but trust me for awhile there we were calling our travel insurance company and sweating bullets. See you all in 10 days!

:scared1: Scary! Glad you are still able to make it.

Thank you so much. Just before I went to work this morning she popped up on my Facebook chat ... it was about 2am there and she had just finished her last shift. Anyway she said she had printed off her ticket, booked a coach to go to the airport, bought an extra bag and sorted out cash to pay for the bags. She was just packing. So that was a big relief to a worried Mum.

She will be in the air on her first leg round about now, so I will be on edge until she lands in Seattle in about 8 hours.

 That's great at least you know she was all sorted, fingers crossed she doesn't have any delays on her journey to Seattle.

dont worry, you'll be in good company with claire around!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

just to let everyone know that the secret mickey post on page one is now up to date with all the room numbers. please make sure you know your recipient's room number before you leave.
in case anyone forgets, there will be a couple of spare SM lists in my FE on room 5002

you do now :) and instead of the cat 1 party, you'll have to join us all for a drinkies in the pub instead!

Thank you! As this is our first Disney cruise, and we want to enjoy as much of the official daily activities as possible, we won't be taking part in many of the DIS stuff. I'll bring the schedule, though, and may drop in on a pub crawl or something like that.

Karen, you may remember the reason (from the other board) that I cancelled the cat 1 party. Sadly, that reason went away two weeks ago, but I didn't think there would be time to properly organize it again (not to mention the fact that my wife still probably wouldn't appreciate the celebration given the emotional ups and downs closely tied to it!).

Are some of those words of wisdom like thou shalt not drink on an empty stomach?:rotfl: Although on this cruise that should never be a problem.:rotfl2:

I'm far from being the one who should give advice about that! lol There is one that I think is a hoot about how you should arrive at "the end of your life". Not going to say another thing.....just have to come by and see it the day I put it out, but I thoroughly agree with the sentiments! :thumbsup2

Very very sorry to hear that. I hope you both find the cruise a healing time.

Iceman wishing you guys the best and you will always be welcome in joining us on the pub crawl.

Dan

Cliffy97 on the other board as well

YIKES! Hope they gave you some GOOD Antibiotics!

Watch this space ... we hope to organise a 2011 WBTA reunion in the UK next year :thumbsup2

Hooray! Now you can chill!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I definitely don't want to bring down the mood this close to such a wonderful vacation, so let's move on! :-)

Dan, go ahead and put me down for the pub crawl. We're actually doing Palo brunch that morning at 10:30, so I'll probably start the crawl with a few mimosas in me already!

And Karen, if you want to put our names in your roll call roster they are Rick, Jen, Josselyn (7), Kayni, and Camilla. Kayni is our current au pair and she's 19, so she'll be looking for other folks her age to hang out with when Josselyn is at Oceaneer's and the "big kids" are in the 21+ locations. Camilla is our former au pair who is flying from Norway to join us for both the week at Disneyland Paris and the cruise!

Iceman, I also saw your post on the other boards. I am so sorry to hear this news.

Today is the last day of work for both Curt and I! :cheer2: He has about 7+ hours left, and I have just 3 hours of tutoring to do this evening. However, the gap between what I need to do versus have completed (as far as packing/organizing) continues to widen as time progresses. :rolleyes1 At least he started laying out some clothes this morning. :thumbsup2

I'm so glad all is well now, William!! Hospitals are NO FUN the week prior to leaving on vacation. A friend of mine ended up in gall bladder surgery while in Hawaii once, and vacation is not a time for that!

The other board has been giving me issues. I can see "latest post" on the main page, but the "last page" it takes me to is page 9. I was able to reply, but can't see it unless going into my post history. Very weird. Anyway, hugs to your family for that. Definitely drop in on the pub crawl or other activities! I had never heard of DISboards until after the cruise was booked, and it just makes my head swirl with the plethora of activity!

Yay for them getting to join you guys! :thumbsup2

I have that issue too. I could see there were new posts but they weren't there when I clicke. I thought I was going a bit daft(no comment). Apparently there is a problem and you are supposed to send a link to them. Could take a while. So I haven't posted in a while.

Glad to know it's ONLY ulcers. Just think of all the drinking you can't do - unless of course the old milk first remedy works. Take care

Whew!! With a daughter of 19 off at school I have nearly the same fits. Sounds as though she is a capable, bright young lady!!

We are off on a short trip to see DD at college this weekend, and so all packing is postponed until I get back and do laundry. I only have so many hot weather outfits and have to wear what I have for the weekend! Why are do darn many of us taking a "trip before the trip"? I am stressing thinking of the mountain of things to go through.

For months now we've been tossing things in a closet saying "that's for the trip" and now it's a right big pile of junk!! I've never seen DH so detailed--maybe I shouldn't have shown him these DIS boards--we have collected every item anyone has ever listed as a good idea for a cruise. I think I'll be able to have a yard sale off my balcony! :rotfl2:

If you are on the list below you are NOT confirmed for the Champagne Girls event, please contact me by SATURDAY MORNING or you will lose your place. I've PM'd you all so check your messages. I don't want anyone to miss out but I have to send the list to DCL & deal with any queries they may have.
