Re Champagne Girls and Pub Crawl.

I thought the pub crawl was on the 15th. So this would not conflict with the Champagne Girls. Although I am up for the Boozing Guys at the same time.

Yes Bev, he is an expert at the pouting. It has various uses including but not limited to getting him invited along on car rides and separating you from your food.

My dog always pouts... She used to get in my suitcase while I was packing.. and not looking.. and she would leave a little present.. guess she wanted to pack her s***. Anyway one time my DH was leaving to go on a trip for business. I told him not to leave the lid open on the suitcase if he was not in the room. He listened and all was well. Well... sorta... he was getting dressed the next morning and he was about to put his shoe on when..... well something came rolling out! She found a way to make sure he did not forget he left her at home!.... and really she is house broken!

Yikes! That is not a happy surprise to find in your suitcase!

On the subject of animals not liking it when you leave them. Our 2 cats hate it as soon as the cases come out. One will try and sneak herself inside the bag to stow away with you. The other thinks that if he drapes himself over the top of the case then you wouldnt possibly be able to pack anything so will just stay at home!!

This is Poppy last year the night before we went away. I think she took the " if you're going, then i'm coming too approach!"

BTW Beauty, Thanks so much for those Madrid pictures and the train info. I have showed my DH which makes him want to look around. He was all for getting off the flight and heading straight to Barcelona. I will show this to our friends this weekend so we can decide what is the best to do.

Done my first suitcase run, and ...... yes you guess it, either have to change the size of the suitcase, cull the clothes or bring another case. Thought I was doing well as I halved what I took last year. Need a packing fairy sent over please.

Pub crawl is on the 15th, I just checked. I think it may have originally been on the 13th. So this should work out!

Ok folks i've got an update for the Champagne Girls!!!!


DCL have finally been in contact with me & offered the 13th September, 3pm - 4.30pm at Sessions.

The cost will be $20 per person - I am still waiting for confirmation how much Champagne we will get per person for that price. I will also need more information from you guys, such as room numbers etc but i'll update again as soon as I hear from DCL.

Now the issue we have is the 13th September is the new date the Pub Crawl was moved to & quite a few people are signed up for both the Champagne Girls & also the Pub Crawl. What are your opinions please? Is it possible to move the Pub Crawl again without causing too many issues with child care? We also need to bare in mind that Michelle is still awaiting the dates for the Mojito & Mixology tastings so they could clash with the pub crawl? Although she will hopefully have two groups for each so we can switch people around if need be to avoid any further clashes.

What a headache! Still just think in two weeks time we will all be getting on the ship about now so all this hassle will be a distant memory.....

The pub crawl doesn't conflict with this date. But we have the Palo brunch of group 1. So it would a full day for me.
But we also can do our own thing on an other day. I hope DCL tells you quick what there offer include.

I seem to recall reading something about people showing up last year and drinking the champagne without contributing anything (which would seriously annoy me). And there is the issue of where to do this. I'm just thinking I can buy a pretty decent bottle of champagne (or a couple of semi-decent bottles) to share for $20. I'm also wondering if it will be set up like the other tastings - places set, where everyone sits down with a few other people, and the sommalier (sp?) talks about each wine. I was hoping for something a bit more informal where we'd be able to mingle some, although it's fine with me if we go with what DCL offers.

Believe me I appreciate the amount of effort this takes ... and how frustrating it can be. We just need to go for whatever is the least hassle for sure

I agree .... none of us need an extra hassle at this late stage ... deciding what to take and packing is enough to be contending with

I really don't mind the organising & will go with whatever the majority want.

Thanks Claire for taking care of champagne girls. I can't imagine the hassle! I've never been to a Champagne girls where DCL hosted it. The 3 or 4 I have been to were very informal events hosted in a cabin/suite with the large balcony, everyone brings a bottle of wine or champagne and a glass. Host/organizer drinks for free! There has always been such a ton left over that I am surprised that people have run into problems with running out of champagne. I have a bottom of the barrel room so I'm no help there. If no one offers up their room then of course we will need to depend on DCL and it is getting late.

I'm in either way but I agree, a champagne tasting doesn't sound like fun. Hopefully it will just be a fun loving group of gals mingling. The people and dress-up is what makes it fun, the drinks are so secondary to me.
