DH hasn't downloaded the pics from the camera yet, I only unpacked it about 30 mins ago :lmao: so I'll give you a link when we downloads them to photobucket :) I was amazed by the Atrium, it blew me away how gorgeous it was, we have lots of pics :lovestruc

Thanks Michelle :) It wasn't too bad, they had the huge stabilisers out at the front of the ship, so it wasn't too rocky and the Captain went full steam ahead. By late dinner time we had sailed away to calm waters and the upper decks were fully operational again and Stevie and I went up to play crazy golf, but (Claire you will love this) we changed our minds and went to Pink for some champagne and champagne cocktails instead :cloud9::cloud9:

Talking about CC, talk about having a cheek, because of the weather the cabanas were all empty as the people had declined to go to them due to the weather, so we went along for a look and the chap in charge let us have a look and take some photographs, they look brill BTW. He said since they were empty he would offer us one for the day for a bargain $300 :rotfl2::rotfl2: Stevie and I were creasing ourselves - did he seriously think we wanted one when no-one else had turned up and the storm was on the way?!

Funny you should mention that Claire, we were at guest services on the Dream a few days ago and were chatting to one of the CM's behind the desk. We were admiring the big mural behind reception showing the map of the world, with the 3 DCL ships stuck to it on their current location. Of course, the Magic was stuck in the med. We said it was a shame that it wasn't coming back next year and she said that it could be back in 2013. She wasn't the first person that said that on our trip. Fingers crossed everyone for a 2013 WBTA reunion :woohoo:

I'm looking forward to seeing your pics....along with the Med one's!!!! ;) :rolleyes1 The atrium is jaw dropping, we took a gazillion pics of the atrium & chandelier.

:woohoo: I love Pink, I hope you had an extra glass of bubbly for me. :cloud9:

I can't believe he tried to sell a cabana for $300 when you were only docked for a few hours...the cheek!!! Did you ask him about how we do the split Cabana thing so we all get our wristbands? As far as i'm aware the lead party (ie Pat :) ) has to go to the excursions desk on the ship in advance so we all get our wristbands left in our room the night before? Is this right?

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I hope they are right about WBTA 2013!!!! :wizard:

Bradford's fine at the moment, no problems. All vanned up and just waiting to see where they send us. Just sorting the football fans out at leeds v bradford. It could be a veeery long night:sad2::sad2:

It would be so much easier if people just behaved:confused3

Thank you so much for your part in dealing with these scumbags.

Stay safe.

I hope the riots in England will stop soon. Hope everybody is safe. It is now in more city's I heard on the news. And also the footballmatch between Holland and England in the wembleystadium is cancelled because of the riots. It is a pitty that it came so far.

Yes they have cancelled the England v Holland game, I think there are a few other games at risk of being cancelled this weekend too. It's the start of the new Premier League season but they can't risk taking Police away from the rioting areas to control the football crowds.

Although it is a shame to cancel the football matches for all the fans, I think it's the best thing to do at the moment given the situation.

This is no party boat! except on Deck 6 forward.

:dance3: party: :dance3: party: :dance3:

:scared1: 4 weeks today & I will be on my way to Barcelona!!!!! It's really coming around so fast now!

:cool1: :dance3: :cool1:

I just can NOT understand football hooliganism whatsoever.:confused3 Goodness, Scotland almost has a war at time. Very odd to me.

Glad you didn't have to go over to Manchester and I hope things are still quiet tonight for you.

Or what about the day of Castaway Cay... since we arrive so late? Then it's not a sea day? Late in the cruise, but... :confused3
Mandy - we'll just go with the flow :)
I'm sooo excited!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Just dropped off my 2 formal gowns/dresses at alterations for their final fittings. Hooray!!! :dance3::dance3:
It's starting to feel REAL! :cool1:
Yay Peggy :)
Cruise docs have arrived! :woohoo:

My cruise docs arrived today!!

See you all soon!

Sandy
Great news Lorraine & Sandy - you can now join in with the happy doc dancing:dance3:
Speaking of double walled tumblers, I picked up a 24oz Mickey Mouse Tervis Tumbler today to bring on the trip from Bed Bath and Beyond:

Mickey Tumbler

And when I was there I noticed they now have cocktail shaker tops for them so you can turn them into shakers!

Shaker Tops
They look really good.

On a positive note, we are now below 100 degrees and it isn't even 9:00 PM yet!!
It feels like -100 here (ok that's a major exaggeration :rotfl2:) but it's cold and very wet!

I'm a police officer in Bradford, west yorkshire.

Just got in after a 13 hour shift on a 'day off' dressed in full riot kit, firstly dealing with football hooligans and then rioting idiots.

Well just time for a quick beer before bed and see if I get the call tomorrow to do the same again.

Paul
Stay safe Paul.

:woohoo::dance3::woohoo:

It's quite scary how fast it is coming round - not that I'm complaining :goodvibes

Mandy - we'll just go with the flow :)

Just something to think about, last year they went all out to get to CC as quick as they could and people were disembarking by 10am or even earlier. We sailed at top speed. The crew did a great job. We weren't getting off as I had been ill, but we faced dockside so watched them getting ready and they worked so hard. I remember the officers coming down the gangway and applauding the crew. I think the extra hour or so makes a big difference on CC so I hope they do the same this time.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

All y'all in the UK, please stay SAFE!

We got our docs yesterday - only luggage tags, but still a happy packet.

Finished my new blouse for Villan's night. Need to work on the mask and going to try to put pockets in my travel skirt and a dress. They wouldn't make men's trousers without pockets why the heck can't women's clothes have them too???

Happy day, all!

morning everyone, we had bad night here our town centre has been attacked shops have been smashed up and cars set on fire, we are far enough away for it not to bother us but still not nice to see, liverpool has been bad as well, shocked that it has started up here

Hi everyone
Just got back from mini break with DH, which we seemed to spend shopping. Even though I don’t need any more clothes for this holiday, I still managed to buy some. DH reminded me we only have three cases between the two of us…. That’s ok one for him two for me, or maybe half for him and two and a half cases for me!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

:cheer2::cheer2:Belated Happy Birthday Pat, sounds like you had a great day

We will be away for a total of 50 days, which is the max our insurance will allow due to health issues with DH. The first cruise is the Disney magic the last one is the QM2 back to the uk both were booked, 50 days start to end and we felt we couldn't take that risk of invalidating the insurance for the extra day, but sure all will be fine

Wow, that's a nice long trip :)

Be careful! Such a waste! So sad that some people just are driven to destroy what's not theirs. If it was theirs.......they would be livid! Just don't understand the way some people think. :confused3 Hope it calms down soon!

1 month today until we sail :sail: Think that warrants a happy dance even if I can't do a document dance yet!!

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

so sorry to hear about the troubles in UK. Be safe!

I was listening to the Hannity show yesterday and he was playing a clip of some british girls being interviewed. They said that they were taking what was rightfully theirs. Liquor go figure. And showing the rich and the government that they can do what they want. The person interviewing them (don't know who it was) said why attack local store owners though. They said because they are rich. When asked if the riots would continue that night they said they hoped so.

Really?!?!?:confused3 Having had parents that owned a shop before I can tell you that most of them aren't rich. I think it is people who are just trying to justify taking things they haven't worked to get. I don't understand that logic. Oh well, to all of you sain ones out there stay safe and good for you to help clean up afterwards.

So sorry to hear of all the riots over there... it is horrible when your own people are doing such things to their own country... Makes you wish you could collect them all up and put them on some deserted island or desert somewhere! What is wrong with some people? I hope it ends soon. Prayers for the victims caught up in the middle of this mess.....

Your DH is lucky.... I would have mine put his "stuff" in his carry on and I would take the 3 check ins... and my carry on... :lmao: Good thing my DH isn't going.... I will miss him tho... means I have to handle my own luggage:scared1:

We're just going to leave the date as is, moved the time to 8:50 pics / 9:00 PJ breakfast, and will just deal with character breakfast changes for whoever is affected.
Hopefully we WILL arrive prior to 11:15. Definitely prefer more time at Castaway Cay! :thumbsup2

You really wouldn't believe some of the things these youngsters are saying. Well you would really as what you quoted is pretty typical. :sad2: At least now it looks like there is going to be fight back and some proper punishment for those they catch, and they are working on photos from CCTV's etc and getting the photos publicised.

Sadly 3 young men were murdered by a hit and run driver as they were standing protecting their business. Takes it to a whole new level.

So sorry to hear of all the riots over there... it is horrible when your own people are doing such things to their own country... Makes you wish you could collect them all up and put them on some deserted island or desert somewhere! What is wrong with some people? I hope it ends soon. :

This and a whole load more ideas for punishment have been mentioned. Yours is one of the most 'kind' ones though!;)

There is a Facebook page 'Supporting the Met Police Against the London Rioters' that I 'liked' on Monday night. Now there are about 900,000 'members' and even our Prime Minister mentioned it this morning. It does get a few bad posts on ther but the guy who started the page is quick to get rid of anything like that. Mostly it is supportive. There have also been some heart warming stories of groups going and cleaning up the areas afterwards.

OK folks - ran into an issue with packaging the t-shirts tonight. The boxes I got from the PO are basically the size of a VHS tape and clearly I underestimated what could fit into them!

I will be canceling the labels & tracking numbers that I already sent to you and will be getting new ones tomorrow since I have to use a different size package. :scared1:

Live and learn - sorry for the inconvenience!

Chris

Chris, have you tried using large envelopes? Whenever I sell clothing on Ebay, I put it into those large padded envelopes. I don't know how many t-shirts you need to mail, but you can buy a bunch at Costco or Sams. With the envelopes and shipping using First Class Mail (USPS) it should still be pretty cheap to ship - its usually cheaper than using Priority Mail boxes/envelopes.

Seriously, this ship turns into a ghost town by midnight. There are some late night activities for adults (and the kids' clubs), but the pattern seems to be: go to the adult cabaret in Rockin' Bar D at 10:15 or 10:30 (whichever that night), which lasts about 30-45 minutes. Then the majority of people stand up and go to their rooms.

I go up deck afterwards and watch whatever sporting event or movie is on the Ariel big-screen "funnel vision" for a while.

Early morning is still dead calm, too. Not a lot of early risers. The workers will be out, cleaning, painting, doing maintenance, but not many cruisers.

Looking at the Navigators from our first cruise (3-night, 2007), there wasn't any food options open until 7 am.

This is no party boat! except on Deck 6 forward.

That surprises me for the WBTA. Now on the Eastern TA, we lost an hour each night, so I was pretty beat by 10:00, but this trip I am looking forward to doing more of the evening activities b/c we'll gain an hour so I shouldn't be tired.

I looked at my navigators from the EBTA last year and the latest evening activity is piano music in Sessions at 11:15 and DJ music in Rckin Bar D at 11:30, but there is a movie that starts at 10:30 and goes until 12:30.
The earliest morning activity is and 8:45 fitness class, a playhouse Disney party at 9:00 for little ones and then a family activity around 9:30 like scrapbooking or family animation. The earliest food is Cove Cafe and Goofy's Galley at 7:00, the buffet doesn't open until 7:30 and its 8:00 for Lumieres.

I like the way these people think!

Mickey is cute, but I'm liking all those Margaritaville styles. Just have to think of a way to convince Dennis we need a couple of these. He looked pretty interested when I mentioned the tumblers with the seaplanes on them, and he really perked up when I said they double as cocktail shakers.

The phrase "too much stuff" has passed his lips more than once in reference to all the gear we're taking, though. Silly boy. Doesn't he know there's no such thing as "too much stuff?" It's like saying, "too many shoes," or "too much chocolate." Inconceivable. :confused3

Tervis Tumblers are THE BEST!!! They keep cold drinks cold or hot drinks hot and they have a lifetime warrantee. :thumbsup2

God bless you Paul. Please be safe out there!!

Its sad when people have such a sense of entitlement. Whatever happened to personal responsibility and working hard for the things you want in life?
It just shows how young and ignorant some of these people are. :sad2:

I got it figured out this morning - we had a lot of the large priority envelopes here at work. Everything is packed up and will be mailed at lunch. (Except I hate the PO at lunchtime - blah!)

I am so sorry to hear this, Sue. Hope & pray that everyone stays safe and that these hooligans stop the rioting. Just crazy!
