the secret mickey exchange is going from strength to strength, we're up to 32 cabins already!
don't forget there's still plenty of time to sign up, the cut off date is the 27th (two weeks before we sail)

Karen you're doing a fantastic job there, thank you.:thumbsup2

Do you remember all the performance we had wondering about starting a new thread when the first OP hadn't been around for months and months. Well you were just the right person.:)

I have a question about the Secret Mickey that I don't think has been asked yet, how do we leave it for our recipients? Do we need to find the stateroom host & ask them to put it in the cabin for us?

I third that!!

Thanks guys, just glad I can help a bit with all the organising. :)

Claire, you can either find the stateroom host, put it in the FE if there is one, or leave it with guest services.
And glad you guys will be able to come on the pub crawl now :)

Thanks hun, I'm looking forward to it. :)

I didn't think of guest services, mine is too big to put in the FE so i'll probably try the stateroom host first.

Attention All Daniel Taxi Madeira Tour Members

Just a quick update on supermarkets and PayPal from Eusébia at Daniel Taxi.

1. From the Morrison's link, I presume you're looking for a supermarket. The shopping centres I made reference to, are of the type with several clothes shops and so on, so probably not what you meant. Pingo Doce, for instance, is more in the line of Morrison's. There are two in Funchal, both as part of shopping centres: Dolde Vita and Anadia Shopping. Dolce Vita is closer to Blandy's than Anadia, but is not very easy to find your way inside this place, when you're not familiar with it. In my opinion, Pingo Doce in Anadia Shopping will be better, but, of course, the drivers will make the final decision.

2. Yes, they may choose to procceed as you mention, in relation to drop off and pick up at Blandy's, the supermarket and cruise ship.

3. Yes, it's a good idea for people to bring their Paypal receipts if they have prepaid. Driver should have a list.

Hi all!

After months and years of wanting and dreaming of going on a Disney TA I finally was able to book it today!

I have been eagerly reading the boards about this cruise on and off for months, not sure if we could make it or not. We couldn't make the decision because my husband just didn't know if he could do it with work. Well, he finally told me there was no way he could do it and I was so depressed :confused3 that I just decided to book just for me and our 4 year old daughter! So here we come just the 2 of us!

I know a lot of the deadlines for get togethers have passed, but I hope we can still join in on some things. I'm game for anything and would enjoy the company!

Looking forward to meeting everyone! I've got a lot of planning to do!

Jenny :surfweb: and Filippa :cutie:

We're also close to the last ones to the party, and have never done a Disney cruise before, so we can learn all these new things together. I must say the other 'posters' on this thread are wonderful! they are a treasure trove of info and really accepting when you screw up (I'm good at that). Hope to meet 'the cruising swedes'

No I have never tried a light box but I am seriously considering if for this winter as last year I was really bad.

We have friends that work up in Siberia and she has a light box. She calls it her "Happy Light".

:welcome: Jenny and Filippa!! We are Leanne, DH Ken and DD Morgan (9). This is our first ever cruise and we are so excited. We are from Alberta, Canada but we live in Crimea, Ukraine.

:bday: Pat, hope you have a great day! party:

People who are concerned that the cool box may not keep their drinks cold enough - Take a gallon size zip lock bag and fill it with ice (which your stateroom host will bring you) and put it on a face towel in the bottom of the cool box. The towel will catch the drips (and be nice and cold if you need a compress) and so will your drinks be cold. I change out my ice every day and dump the melt water into my water bottle so that's cold too.

Hello Cruisers!

I've had 4 people request joining a Palo Group Brunch however groups 1-3 have filled up.
Would anyone be interested in joining a Group Four?? :goodvibes

Its a great way to meet other people on the DIS boards and one heck of a brunch spread :-)
Please let me know if you're interested asap, so you can be as happy as these four other hopeful cruisers!:grouphug:

What a fabulous day!

First, my mom and dad called to wish me a happy birthday and we caught up on all the family gossip of the last week.

Then I won a beautiful beaded dress on eBay for next to nothing (which I hope will fit as I've bought several that haven't), perfect for a formal night (anyone know where I might find a place to wear it?).

Later I went to lunch and shopping with a dear friend from my teaching days, who I haven't been able to connect up with for months, and her daughter (who will be able to use some of the aforementioned non-fitting dresses for homecoming, prom, etc). We had a great time and found some really cute shoes to go with the beaded dress.

After that we went to Sam's to pick up the lobster tails and while we were there, some lovely steaks called out to me, so we're now having surf-and-turf for dinner. I also found a fabulous torte (fudge cake, marscapone cheesecake, & chocolate mousse) that just begged to be my birthday cake, and spared me the trouble of baking my own. There were also some yummy little chocolate covered frozen banana slices that jumped into my cart, and my friend and I had to sample them on the way back to her house (her daughter bailed on us after lunch) to make sure they weren't spoiled or anything.

Dennis gave me a beautiful orchid (I told him about the clear pot thing, Claire), and at the moment we are sitting around drinking champagne (yes, actual champagne, from France) after eating a delicious appetizer of portabello mushroom caps stuffed with crab and shrimp that he picked up on his way home from work. We're about to fire up the grill to cook the steak and lobster. The dogs are all cuddling up with us on the couch. Does it get any better than this? :goodvibes

To paraphrase (sort of) Sam in "Casablanca," "This champagne sure takes the sting out of turning 50." ;)
