Sarah, I suffer from SAD too, do you use a light box of some sort, I find it really helps ... not as much as a vacation to some place sunny, but it still works.

No I have never tried a light box but I am seriously considering if for this winter as last year I was really bad.

Does anyone know if you can get those yummy looking pizza's at Palo Brunch? If not, we may just have to go for dinner one night. It looked sooooooo good.

I had forgotten about those pizzas ... last year I had a gorgeous cheese and garlic pizza, it was divine ... I think I had it at brunch. Definitely need to have one of those again. :thumbsup2

I have to say that we love winter here! In FL, the winter months are usually the nicest & when we can actually go outside and do things without burning up. They are replacing our air conditioning system today and it is boiling in the house! I need to go for an ice-cream run!!!!!!!!!!!

We have never been to Florida in the winter but I think it would be perfect temperatures for me .... July was just way too hot. I have been in April and October and that was a lot better.

Hi all!

After months and years of wanting and dreaming of going on a Disney TA I finally was able to book it today!

I have been eagerly reading the boards about this cruise on and off for months, not sure if we could make it or not. We couldn't make the decision because my husband just didn't know if he could do it with work. Well, he finally told me there was no way he could do it and I was so depressed :confused3 that I just decided to book just for me and our 4 year old daughter! So here we come just the 2 of us!

I know a lot of the deadlines for get togethers have passed, but I hope we can still join in on some things. I'm game for anything and would enjoy the company!

Looking forward to meeting everyone! I've got a lot of planning to do!

Jenny :surfweb: and Filippa :cutie:

Welcome to you both. WE are Sarah and Tony from Wales, our 2nd WBTA :thumbsup2

Is that El Cortes Ingles a store in Barcelona where you can buy liquor and groceries? We are doing a minivan tour of Barcelona the morning of the cruise with Namsupak, and both of us need to stop somewhere and buy some diapers. I also need to buy some various sundries, like suntan lotion, that I don't want to haul overseas in my checked back. And, of course, liquor. I really want a bottle of Kahlua and a bottle of vodka. So, if any of you know, would that be the place to go for ALL of that, or will we need to go to 2 stores? I'm not even sure I can buy Kahlua in Spain at a grocery store...

I am sure they would sell Kahlua at El Corte Ingles, as it had a really extensive liquor aisle from what I remember.

The binky fairy is coming tonight... in preparation for this trip. I didn't want to have to buy new binkies and keep track of them for 3 weeks. So far so good. We told Lorelei that the binky fairy was coming to take her binkies and give them to little babies that didn't have any. She pulled the binky out of her mouth and looked so concerned. She held it out to me and said, "I give binky to babies I not need it" So keep your fingers crossed for us this works out cause she was/is quite the addict :scared1: We're gonna let the blankie addiction continue however so maybe that will help. :rolleyes1

I am assuming a binky is what we call a dummy. Good luck :wizard:
Did you still want me to bring some nappies (diapers) onto the ship for you. If you do then just let me know the brand, size and how many? I can pick them up on the morning we join the ship.

Since it's a Disney cruise, you can buy your drink in one place and nurse it as you go from place to place. All the bars have the same owner.

:rotfl2: I will definitely be doing this ... one cocktail can last me all afternoon if I don't want it to go straight to my head .... if I am lucky I may manage two ( and then I might need a lie down :rotfl2: )

Oh, look - it's after midnight! Happy birthday to me. Best be takin' my Geritol and gettin' to bed.

Happy Birthday Pat, Hope you have a lovey day xxxxx

So sorry Lynne I totally forgot about that. :guilty: Yes I manage to grab one that Mary cancelled, she did the same as you and reserved it for the ladies High Tea but as that isn't happening she told me when she cancelled it and I grabbed it. Thanks anyway. :flower3:

Is Lynne's reservation on the same day as the pub crawl too ..... if not you could move to that one maybe ??

Yes Lynne also booked the 13th for the Ladies High Tea so that's no good.

I can always try and move it once onboard but I have a feeling that any spares they've held back will go very fast.

5 weeks now and we are on the ship

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Not sure what size A6 and A4 is- you can always try one out on your fridge to see if it holds. If the paper is much bigger than the magnet, make sure it's sufficiently stiff to not droop.

If it's a full size sheet of paper, I put the magnet in an office page protector and slide the print in in front of it - it is NOT permanently afixed. If it's a small picture and small magnet, I stick them together with double faced tape.

You can also cut the sheet magnets up and stick a piece in each corner of a larger sheet.

Happy day, all!

Thank you for your advice. I gonne try it. A4 is the normal size and A6 is a quarter of it.

Happy birthday:bday:Pat

:welcome: aboard Jenny & Filippa

We are Annemarie and Hazel from the UK, looking forward to meeting you on the cruise!

:bday: Pat have a lovely day

We had a rare summer evening in our garden last night with lanterns and music ( and very oddly 2 bottles of wine were empty when I got up this morning!) Roll on 5 weeks today for more relaxing and mysterious wine disappearances!!

ok, cliffy and chris&jeremy, any objections to changing it to the 15th? that way everyone can make it?

Is anyone staying in the Renaissance -airport on the 8th/9th?

I am on the 9th :)

Oh, I forget to do this every time. I am Lynne, I get my own room on this trip.

I am going to England pre-cruise, over to Disneyland Paris, then down to Barcelona for a few. I actually leave in 25 days and am not ready. Booked this cruise in March when Expedia was offering $300 OBC & got the restricted GTY rate (meant I had to book it that day, no changes, no refunds allowed) - but definitely a better rate. Oceanview room (still don't know which one) for less than an inside.

I've also got the room to myself and am also OGT as it was cheaper than the inside room I had already booked whilst onboard last year's WBTA. When are you in England and Disnayland Paris? I'm at DLP with my daughter and grandson from 24th - 28th August. It will be my grandsons first Disney experience and we are so looking forward to it :)

Maybe - our flight doesn't get into until almost 4, I would want to get the kids settled in, so that time would probably be good...It is exciting to think about so many of us from here being at the hotel the night before the cruise!

Go to El Corte Ingles if you get the opportunity. It's many years since I was in there but it is a grat department store. I'd love to get there this time but it is highly unlkely due to timings.

Thanks - sounds like I will have to make a stop there. Maybe I will do a run Friday night to the grocery store near the hotel with Noel and John. If I can't get everything there, or just for fun anyway, when we are doing the tour of Barcelona with Lauren we can do a 2nd stop at El Cortes before heading for the port? Between those 2 places we should be able to get everything we need...

Thanks, we will try but High Tea is at 3pm so not sure how long it will take.

High tea lasts about 45 min, an hour if you have several cups of tea or longer if you are with a group of talkers. DH and I were done in about 45 min. It is very nice to enjoy - I ate a very light lunch that day so I could enjoy the food. If you can't get a reservation when you get on board, try calling on the actual sea day even right up to the time. So many people cancelled the day we went - it was the last sea day and it was gorgeous outside and since its right in the middle of the day, I figure they thought, oh well, its only $10, I'll just blow it off. There is a dress code so don't try showing up in your swimwear cover ups! :rotfl:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAT!!!
:rockband::dancer::dancer::dancer:party:

Is anyone thinking of going here?
http://www.palaumusica.org/
Its a world heritage site. :thumbsup2
I am thinking of going on Friday, but waiting to hear back from the cooking class folks http://www.cookandtaste.net/ to see if there is an opening and what time I can get. They have an 11am and a 5pm, plus I added the Boqueria tour - you shop for ingredients before the class. I put the 5pm as my first choice as I'm flying in that morning and may not make it in time for the Boqueria shopping portion. Plus this takes care of dinner! :thumbsup2
They are on vacation till the end of Aug. Seems alot of things close down in Aug for their vacations. Glad we'll be there in September! ;)

My spanish is beyond rusty, so I couldn't understand was on the web site. Looked like a music hall for concerts??? Is that what it is? Looked beautiful.

Yes, it is a music hall. Looks absolutely incredible! Click the English link in the upper right hand corner and you can read about it in English. There aren't any concerts going on that week before we sail, but the tour is on my bucket list! :goodvibes

For those of you missing the weather forecasts.... we are expected to have our 36th day in a row of 100+ degree temp. The actual forecast is 108. Yep... that's 42C. :scared1: Weather.com shows the forecast through Aug 15, and all days are forecasted at 103 or higher. By comparison, if I am reading averages correctly for Barcelona, we should be looking at 82. Breaking out the jackets!! :lmao:

Thanks for that tip! That would be me if I crash the pub crawl (or hubby).

I found this sales flyer at www.carrefour.es This month they were having 2nd items for 70% off, so I am giving you the regular prices.

They do sell beer, wine and liquor. For example, J&B Whiskey 1 liter 15.4 euros, Bacardi white 1 liter 15.9 euros, Heineken 0.5 liter can 1.05 euros (flyer pages 26-29)

They also have Huggies Super Seco (Dry) Ultra

Talla (size) 3 Pack 104 count (4-10 kg kid)
Talla 4 Pack 106 count (9-15 kgs)
Talla 5 Pack 80 count (13-18 kgs) .... any 24 euros
they probably have more sizes and pull-ups.

According to www.spain.othercountries.com, the comparison of Spanish products:
Huggies - exactly the same as in the UK
Dodot - Pampers, more or less (made by the same manufacturer)
Johnson&Johnson (wipes) - the same as in the UK

Thank you for that info!!! :)

My DH doesn't drink that much, I remember some people have joined that don't drink at all so tell them not to worry. :goodvibes

Sounds like my hubby as well. :thumbsup2

OOOH, cute (and practical!!!) idea to dress up your little ones for pirate night!
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2773399

Wish they had adult sizes!!!:rotfl:

Those were cute... We are going to make our 1 year old a tshirt from a DISboard DISign.

Happy Birthday, Pat!! :cheer2:
