Oh, that is so good to know!! Thank you! Do you know if they sell liquor (not to harp on that point TOO much!)?

There is a Carrefour supermarket < 2 km from the Renaissance.

You also can catch a complimentary shuttle
from the hotel to Las Ramblas at 10 am & 5 pm
and Las Ramblas to the hotel at 10:15 am & 5:15 pm

They have 5 euro per person shuttles from the hotel to Las Ramblas at 12n & 8pm and 12:15 & 8:15pm return

I found this sales flyer at www.carrefour.es This month they were having 2nd items for 70% off, so I am giving you the regular prices.

They do sell beer, wine and liquor. For example, J&B Whiskey 1 liter 15.4 euros, Bacardi white 1 liter 15.9 euros, Heineken 0.5 liter can 1.05 euros (flyer pages 26-29)

They also have Huggies Super Seco (Dry) Ultra

Talla (size) 3 Pack 104 count (4-10 kg kid)
Talla 4 Pack 106 count (9-15 kgs)
Talla 5 Pack 80 count (13-18 kgs) .... any 24 euros
they probably have more sizes and pull-ups.

According to www.spain.othercountries.com, the comparison of Spanish products:
Huggies - exactly the same as in the UK
Dodot - Pampers, more or less (made by the same manufacturer)
Johnson&Johnson (wipes) - the same as in the UK

Thanks so much...I only need 14 diapers though (just night time ones for my younger son), maybe I should just bring them, I don't want to buy an 80 pack!

I really hope I can get Kahlua...

Maybe - our flight doesn't get into until almost 4, I would want to get the kids settled in, so that time would probably be good...It is exciting to think about so many of us from here being at the hotel the night before the cruise!

I don't think it should be much later as I think they close the store at 10 PM.

and Carrefour doesn't open until 10 am; the one near the airport is Hipermercado Carrefour Prat; there is also a Carrefour Express on La Rambla.

What a small world!! We weren't too far from Azalea Park. The house my husband and I lived in was in Eastwood, off Alafaya trail. My mom lived off of University and Dean before she followed us up here to NC.

So tomorrow is your birthday!! Congratulations!! So...you must have graduated from BMHS about 1980? I did have one friend from my neighborhood who went there. I grew up in Seminole Co (Maitland) and went to Lake Howell HS and graduated in 1983. I was the youngest of 5 so in the middle of my senior year my parent's downsized and we moved close to UCF, where my mom worked. Since we were now living in Orange Co I should have changed schools, but of course we just didn't say anything so I could graduate from my school.

I went to UCF too!! Do you remember when it was FTU? Took me like 7 years to get a 4 year degree!:lmao::lmao: I wonder if they still call it U Can't Finish because it was so overcrowded you couldn't get your core classes?

How funny! Yep, graduated from BMHS in '79, UCF in '83. I had no problems w/ UCF, but I got my core classes out of the way in the first two years, with the help of some CLEP credits. I remember that the only things near the school were a Pizza Hut and the Knight's Den (bar). Got drunk a lot at those places. Do you remember Peer Advisers and the President's Leadership Council? I was on both of those - along with many of the other drunken "Greeks" on campus. Ah, good times! :rotfl: That area certainly has changed, though.

Love the stories about the pool and your sisters. My brother worked at WDW for several years in one of the CM cafeterias. Oh, and I was an angel in the "Glory and Pageantry of Christmas" one year, back when DTD was still Buena Vista Village.

We live in east Orlando - Andover Lakes, but Ian (and family) live in Eastwood! 7 miles from door to door. You're certainly right about a small world! Our church - St Stevens Presbyterian was originally founded in Azalea park, but is now located on Lake Underhill.

Where was it in Azalea Park, and where is it on Lk Underhill? That sounds so familiar to me. My parents live on the street that dead-ends into Colonial HS (so they sent us across town to Bishop Moore). They belong to Good Shepherd Church and my brother and I went to school there. My mother likes to refer to that (GS and BMHS) as "twelve years of Catholic school wasted" on me, as I'm now pretty much a heathen. Though I did marry a good Catholic boy. ;)

changed the calendar to the 13th, other option is the 15th (villains night) or the 18th after the pyjama breakfast

There's nothing like a good pub crawl after breakfast!

I found this sales flyer at www.carrefour.es This month they were having 2nd items for 70% off, so I am giving you the regular prices.

Thanks for posting that! It was fun to look at the products and figure out what they are. Some of the prices look good (like the cheeses) but some seem a bit high - like 14+ euros for the case of Cokes. Wouldn't that be roughly $21? Guess it depends on the size of the cans. Hmm... 33cl would be one-third of a litre, which would be a little more than one-third of a quart, which would be about 11 ounces. So a 33cl can is about the same as a 12 ounce can here. Nope, $21 for 32 cans is pricey. Good thing they have the drinks station on the ship!

Hey, didn't you hear, 50 is the new 40! Welcome to the club! 50 and FABULOUS!!!!:dance3::yay::banana::banana:

Umm, well, 40 wasn't all that great either. Thirty was kind of fun, though. I think I'll stay 49 for a couple more years, til I can come to grips with this.

Pat you're only as old as you feel! I know lots of people in their 50's and 60's who are more vibrant and youthful than people I know in their 20's and 30's. :goodvibes

In that case, I'm 112.

I'm not going to be easily consoled about this, you know. I want to look like I did when I was 25 ('cause I was really cute, though I didn't know it), but be as smart as I am now ('cause I was really dumb back then; I sometimes marvel at the fact that I'm still alive, and not in the nut-house).

Oh, look - it's after midnight! Happy birthday to me. Best be takin' my Geritol and gettin' to bed.

Hi all!

After months and years of wanting and dreaming of going on a Disney TA I finally was able to book it today!

I have been eagerly reading the boards about this cruise on and off for months, not sure if we could make it or not. We couldn't make the decision because my husband just didn't know if he could do it with work. Well, he finally told me there was no way he could do it and I was so depressed :confused3 that I just decided to book just for me and our 4 year old daughter! So here we come just the 2 of us!

I know a lot of the deadlines for get togethers have passed, but I hope we can still join in on some things. I'm game for anything and would enjoy the company!

Looking forward to meeting everyone! I've got a lot of planning to do!

Jenny :surfweb: and Filippa :cutie:

So far behind on the posts, but wanted to say welcome! I too was so hoping for my husband to come with me, but it wasn't going to happen. I will be sailing with my youngest daughter who is 13.

The binky fairy is coming tonight... in preparation for this trip. I didn't want to have to buy new binkies and keep track of them for 3 weeks. So far so good. We told Lorelei that the binky fairy was coming to take her binkies and give them to little babies that didn't have any. She pulled the binky out of her mouth and looked so concerned. She held it out to me and said, "I give binky to babies I not need it" So keep your fingers crossed for us this works out cause she was/is quite the addict :scared1: We're gonna let the blankie addiction continue however so maybe that will help. :rolleyes1

Wow what an awesome idea! And at a young age she is so concerned about others. Very sweet!

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Ungodly early though it is - lesson to me, DO NOT eat pizza for supper and then ice cream before bed. NOT only is it not on my diet, it gave me nightmares.:headache:

Definitely join up the FE - even if there's not a sizeable late joiner group, I'm sure there'll be some treats left over for you girls

. . . I have magnet paper on A6 format, so it's very small.
Can I print my magnets on A4 photopaper and put one small magnetpaper behind and laminate it together?
Is that what you suggets? Does that hold?

Not sure what size A6 and A4 is- you can always try one out on your fridge to see if it holds. If the paper is much bigger than the magnet, make sure it's sufficiently stiff to not droop.

If it's a full size sheet of paper, I put the magnet in an office page protector and slide the print in in front of it - it is NOT permanently afixed. If it's a small picture and small magnet, I stick them together with double faced tape.

You can also cut the sheet magnets up and stick a piece in each corner of a larger sheet.

Happy day, all!

Good Morning everyone

:guilty: I will take you off, but you can always join us when we you are done :-) :dance3:

Thanks, we will try but High Tea is at 3pm so not sure how long it will take.

My DH might decide to join your DH. He's just not sure if he wants to drink a lot of alcohol.

My DH doesn't drink that much, I remember some people have joined that don't drink at all so tell them not to worry. :goodvibes

I just wish we could have flown the day before the cruise but couldn't because of insurance issues.

Margaret, just curious what the insurance issues were?

So sorry Lynne I totally forgot about that. :guilty: Yes I manage to grab one that Mary cancelled, she did the same as you and reserved it for the ladies High Tea but as that isn't happening she told me when she cancelled it and I grabbed it. Thanks anyway. :flower3:

I'm a Deputy Sheriff celebrating 13 years. I too understand the deep feeling that come from that tragic day. Thanks for sharing and I hope we see you there.
