For the Fairy lover in you I just bought a few Disney pens for Ed's birthday and came across this great deal on a Tinkerbell pen and pencil set for $20. They arrived yesterday and they are sooo cute and great quality too, so I thought I'd pass the website on to you. http://www.executiveessentials.com/Retro-51-Disney-Tinkerbell-Pen-Pencil-Set/RET-PS-PR1TB1

retro51tinkerbell.jpg

ETA: the Tink pens were for me not Ed

What a nice pair.

I made this one for our last cruise, but we had a very small FE group, and I'm hoping it will still work. The pocket is 7"W x 6"D will it be ok do you think? We never got anything too bulky as a gift, and with the crazy baggage allowance that most people will choose something fairly small .. am I right?

2011-07-21101214.jpg

O what a cute one. Mine is very simple. Just 2 bags. I have to decorate them yet. And they are also small. So i hang also a gift bag under it I think.

And to the lists of Auntlynn and fly4free2 I can't tip. I was pleased with my 48 but 125 that's wonderful.

First glance - she looks like a young Jeanne Tripplehorn (The Firm, Big Love).

...I'm considering using it as a camera bag for my SLR and I need to know if the bag is made out of a strong enough fabric. ...

Whatever you use, make sure the strap is sturdy!

That was 125 sites AMONG US - us being your fellow WBTA DISers who had posted their visits so far - not just me and my family

First glance - she looks like a young Jeanne Tripplehorn (The Firm, Big Love).

I googled :thumbsup2 Taryn would be very flattered with the comparison. Jeanne is a very attractive woman. Taryn tends to look younger as she doesn't wear a lot of make-up as she has very sensitive skin, and used to develop a lot of rashes when she was having to wear make up for stage performances and photo shoots, so she tends to go for the natural look for everyday life.

When on the hub carts she wears something different .... shirt and long shorts with a white cap. Didn't get a photo of that costume though as she hadn't done a shift on those until we left.

i love:lovestruc taryns costume its much nicer than bethans:rolleyes1

Well we have finished our FE after tweaking many times.
I have added 2 photos, the first shows what it looked like when we brought it at the car boot sale for 50p!!, the second shows how we have turned it onto something ready for Disney! the third shows close ups of each section.

Hazel handmade the bows, which she was very proud of ! Then she sewed buttons all over, even some made into mickey head shapes.

Well my material for the FE has arrived - wish me luck, I am going to need it :rotfl:

Good luck Michelle, I hope you have fun doing your FE, can't wait to see your finished article :wizard:

you can check in from WDW with a nice cup of english tea ;)

That's exactly what I'll be doing, after a long day in the parks, I love a cuppa and I'll be fighting off DD for a go on the laptop to check what you guys are all up to on here and who has got a fantastic allocation or upgrade :thumbsup2

Thanks again Karen :)

If you are going to Hollywood Studios ... pop into Mickey's of Hollywood and Keystone Clothing stores ( left side as you enter the park ) to see if you can spot Taryn. Sometimes she can be working at a hub cart on the left hand side of the hat.

When on the hub carts she wears something different .... shirt and long shorts with a white cap. Didn't get a photo of that costume though as she hadn't done a shift on those until we left.

I'll definitely be looking out for her, we always go into Mickeys of Hollywood every time we are in DHS, we love that shop :lovestruc I think there's a good chance we will bump into her :cool1:

Cute picture Sarah, and I love those mickey icon scarves in the background .. what fun :goodvibes

Karen I got the cream one last year, it is lovely, wouldn't mind another one in a different colour :thumbsup2 It is so subtle, you can wear it without anyone realising it is Mickey Mouse :lmao: Of course, the experienced hidden mickey spotters would notice in a second, but your average person wouldn't :lmao:

That is so pretty Karen :lovestruc

Just found out my waitlist for main dining came through, yay! :)

Fantastic :cool1:

I'm doing well for my packing training for the WBTA. Cases are packed and I only have 20 kg in my hold luggage and my hand luggage is virtually empty. My case has toiletries and sun tan lotion in it weighing a few kg, but I'll be buying those next trip in Morrisons on the WBTA, so I am really pleased

Only 10 pairs of shoes this time :rotfl2::rotfl2: which includes dress shoes for the cruise and various crocs, flip flop and fit flop shoes for the parks :thumbsup2

Apparently this one is modelled on the style of clothing Lillian Disney would have worn. She does have another costume for hubcarts which is long shorts and shirt with a white cap.

Well done girls on the "tweaked" FE, what a lovely job you have made

I'm looking forward to wandering round the ship looking at everyone's FEs. I have never really bothered before, but this time, it just seems a bit more personal because all of my "new" friends have made them

Hats off to you guys :worship:

I hope you do manage to see her. She is really looking forward to someone from the DIS coming up and saying hi to her!

And very well done on the packing! Is that including all your formal wear etc. Thats really impressive :thumbsup2

Anyway, hope you have an absolutely fantastic holiday and a magical cruise .... and if you do see my little girl give her a great big hug from me :hug:

We got our assignment last year 45 days out. Good luck everyone and I hope there's some pixie dust out there. I'll check in next week from WDW to see what everyone gets.

Have a lovely time Mandy, you're braver than me, I can't do outdoors, too scared of creepy crawlies :scared1:

Off to finish packing, 2 sleeps till Mickey Mouse :woohoo:

Yay for you! I have started thinking about how to get my husband to agree to stay at wdw one more night before the cruise.....of course that's one more night away from my babydog, so its a tough choice.

We're booked on the Dream for a 4-nighter in October for our 2nd anniversary, followed by 3 nights at WDW. We've been discussing the possibility of cancelling that and going to WDW for the full week.

The cost would be roughly the same as we are getting a military discount on the room at WDW. No discounts for Dream cruise, except our early booking discount. We would be staying at the WL, Club Level Honeymoon Room. We would also be using the new Military Salute tickets that start in October.

So here's the thing:

We can have a more relaxed time at WDW than we usually do when we take the cruise and then try to do F&WF. We'd have to buy meals (which are included on the cruise) but we usually snack our way around Epcot and do counter service meals, and we can get breakfast and snacks at the Club lounge. Might splurge on one or two "grown up" meals - maybe at Artist's Point or Boma. It would also give us 3 choices for MNSSHP instead of just one. And our bar tab tends to be less at WDW than on the cruises!

It's looking like the Dream is going to be sold out (or close to it) and it's unlikely we'd get to book Palo brunch (heard those are already booked) or Remy or get a cabana at Serenity Bay, which we really wanted to do.

On the other hand:

We did get a good price on the cruise - not sure we could do that well any time soon. And it IS the Dream.

What do you think we should do?

Well Pat, you haven't been on the Dream yet right? Hmmmm, this is a toughie. If it were me, I would look on the dcl site and see what other Dream cruises look good - remember you can book one onboard in Sept - and then if another one caught my eye, I would cancel and do wdw for a full week. It would be much more relaxing, plus w/ the resort & room you have, it could be much more romantic :lovestruc for your anniversary since that is what you'll be celebrating on the trip.

Also, how does your hubby feel? That would also steer my decision.

I love her castmember wardrobe, so cute!

Do you have Bare Minerals in the UK? It is a mineral-based powder sort of makeup that doesn't irritate like other products. I love the stuff b/c it works w/ my sensitive skin.

Not that she needs makeup though, w/ that lovely complexion & those eyes she is a natural beauty.

We are booked in a category 6A room - there was availability earlier today but it is gone now - maybe some of you have just been upgraded. :)

hi for people waiting for the cabin numbers the disney cruise site is now showing the cruise is sold out and cannot be booked, i thought i read on here that they do this when they are sorting out the cabins, so you may hear soon hopefully, susie

There are definitely cabins to book now; I'm assuming they're playing with the assignments, though. Just think how delighted we will be....very soon!

thanks! been missing the dis! yes... tent with restrooms about 100 yds away and cold water only. for showers had to drive back into estes park. inwinter park now with curt back home, waiting on my friend to arrive from south denver. head back west/north on saturday for church mission trip. wx has been great, but warmer than normal. better than back home though. alpine pass on trail ridge drive had a wind chill of 36 when we were there. everyday we camped we had thunderstorms... summer... but more than normal they said. thank goodness for a good rain fly! one night the winds were crazy. we could hear it come down the mountain then visibly shake our tent. girls slept through it but curt and I were wide awake. lots of snow still on mountains due to their snowfall this season being so heavy and late.

curt left with most of our big stuff. 8 days, 3 girls, 2 carryon backpacks. figure this is good practice for packing light for the cruise ;) no formal wear on this trip.

oh - estes park very busy in,town. winter park much less busy. did some good hikes each dah, but w curt back home now, not going hikikng w the girls by myself. will with othwrs, so laying low this morning. still need to see moose though. keep missimg them. yesterdays hike had several sightings.

Sounds like quite an adventure for the girls (and mom). Hope the weather straightens out and the sun shines :) and the moose decide to show themselves!

I'm with you! I grew up going on camping trips with my family, in a tent-camper (my mom refused to sleep on the ground). We stayed in some fairly "primitive" campgrounds (read: no running water; a.k.a. "pit" toilets).

As a result of that trauma, I now consider "roughing it" to be a hotel without room service.

Yep, similar memories, but in a log cabin with limited plumbing. Oh, the joy. You beat me to it...I was going to say my idea of "roughing it" is a hotel without a flat screen and free hot breakfast! Great minds....

I made this one for our last cruise, but we had a very small FE group, and I'm hoping it will still work. The pocket is 7"W x 6"D will it be ok do you think? We never got anything too bulky as a gift, and with the crazy baggage allowance that most people will choose something fairly small .. am I right?

To sound like a broken record....this is SO ADORABLE and "different". Yes, I can say I am bringing something small, just because I'd also like to fit clothing, etc. in my suitcase ;).

I have to say no complaints about the weather here. About 80 degrees and a very light breeze.

Me, neither, even though it's 91 and sticky here today. We live in the mountains, so we don't have ac, but I'm so happy I don't have to shovel heat, I'll never complain. DD in TX may have a different opinion, though :goodvibes. Lake Travis in Austin is a mere puddle these days :sad2:.

Well we have finished our FE after tweaking many times.
I have added 2 photos, the first shows what it looked like when we brought it at the car boot sale for 50p!!, the second shows how we have turned it onto something ready for Disney! the third shows close ups of each section.

Wow, that's a transformation. Great job!

Best of thoughts to those with health issues....:grouphug:

Jealous thoughts to those of you going to WDW or cruising before our trip.... :rolleyes1....no, seriously, have a great time.

Pat
, neither choice is a bad one, but I'd probably follow my gut and do whichever one I think I would regret less (as opposed to like more, because they're both great). If you think the WDW option is an incredible deal, never to be matched, then do that; if you have a phenomenal price on the Dream, then, there you go. I'm betting you'll barely have time to miss Remy, Palo, or the cabana. Either way, most of us will still be at home, toiling away for those rude bosses who don't understand our need to spend the day on the Disboards.....so just have a blast and enjoy! :cool1:

Lynne, great recap as usual :worship: love the pic of Capt Jack :thumbsup2

Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip, Mandy :goodvibes

Lovely photo of Taryn, Sarah. What a cute uniform to wear :)

Wow, you are a talented bunch :worship: fantastic FEs; looking forward to seeing them all on the ship.

Mary, aren't you taking your iPad with you to WDW? Has it changed your life like Warren predicted? I'm totally addicted to mine! :lmao:

I haven't started my FE or the presents yet... I'm thinking i might to Jo Anns fabrics and look for any bargains (or bah-gins as we say in new england). I'm getting really excited. I booked my transportation with disney last night to and from both airports for 65usd total. i was very happy with that price!
I was also wondering from my champagne experts... where should i stock up? I don't really feel like packing it in luggage from the US. at port in barcelona? Gibraltar? Madeira? every stop? :lmao: sparkling wine is my drink of choice... Sophisticated 22 year old taste.
