Wow I never knew there was so much activity going on here, I've only been checking Facebook every other day but now I'll make sure I check out both.
Three weeks today is when we leave for our veeeeery long flight to London. First flight out of Perth to Kuala Lumpur is 5 hours 40 minutes, then we have a 2 and a half hour layover before we board again for our 13 hour 45 minute onto London. Overnight in London then onto Barcelona!!!!
We sure are looking forward to meeting new friends and catching up with our wonderful friends from EBTA.
Please count me in for the reunion, England sounds great because I can also visit my mum who lives in Newcastle upon Tyne, while I'm on that subject, I'm going to be in Newcastle from Oct 6 until Oct 16 so if anyone lives close by I would love to catch up.

Hi there, I'm not a very regular contributer on the thread so not sure if I've seen you post before! We live in Chester-le-street near Newcastle upon Tyne. Coincidentally we met a great couple on RCI Legend of the Seas in March this year from Perth, Australia - he was originally from Derbyshire, England and she was from Singapore. Great people. Our email is cartmeller@hotmail.co.uk if you'd like to catch up? Where in Newcastle is your mum? I work in Scostwood Business Park on the banks of the Tyne!

After meeting Sarah.. I do believe you are right.. She will not only know everyone at the gate.. she will have them wrapped around her pretty little finger! You can't help but love her..... I'm so glad she is my rent a Princess...hehe.

If anyone is wondering about the rent a princess remark... All the children are invited to a Prince and Princess tea. They are each able to bring 2 adults. The only way an adult may attend is to escort a child. On the EBTA there were several of us adults that wanted to go to the tea so we asked to "borrow" a child that might have room for another adult to escort them. Say a couple had 2 children, each child being able to bring 2 adults, that is 4 adults allowed but only 2 parents... so they would let 2 other adults join them. It was so fun and we got to spend a little time with the pretty princess's and Prince's.

In case you need a laugh today...

Starting in January, DCL will be adding their new OBDC (on board demerit credit) to cruise accounts.

DCL has finally realized that people feel some entitlement to disregard some rules, and the rules of choice are different for each of us. So, we'll be given a demerit "credit" to be used on our cruise.

The basic credit is 5**. That means you have 5 demerits to spend as you wish. For example, saving a seat in the theater costs you one demerit, wearing shorts to dinner costs 2 demerits, allowing children with swim diapers in the pool is 2 demerits, and so forth. The Personal Navigator will have a specific list; any ship's officer can assess demerits.

Are you paticularly bad and run out of demerits? No problem, more can be purchased at Guest Services. No more worrying about breaking the rules, we're all imperfect and this will make life onboard a little more enjoyable!

**Concierge guests and Platinum Castaway Club members will be given 10 credits initially. Also, if you transfer your reservation to an independent TA they can offer you an increased OBDC along with a higher OBC.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Thanks for the laugh. I think I would be good for most of that but they should also add demerits for parents not controling their kids (i.e. allowing them to cut in line for the characters or mistreating the characters- a big pet peeve of mine since I used to be one, flinging food or running around the dinning room-this could be applied to that crazy disboard group too.:rotfl:-bringing kids in and letting them swim in the adult pool, etc., etc., etc.,)

Oh, then I call dibs on Em for my rent a princess!

That's too funny. If only it was true! And it should be all five for saving lounge chairs at the adult pool or hogging the tile loungers in the Rainforest!

My DH won't remember anyone's names .... he keeps asking me who we are sitting with for dinner, and I give him everyone's names. Then in another conversation if I mention any names, he will look at me totally blank and say "Who?" :headache: :rotfl2:

Stevie is starting to get the hang of who's who now. He's remembered you two as he met you both last year, but it's DD that makes me laugh, I'll be chatting with DH about who said what on the boards and she gets cross with me saying that these people are strangers from the Internet.... You have to be careful, they may not be who they say they are ... At least she has been listening to me :thumbsup2. You and Tony are exempt from the warnings as we met you already, so it's safe to sit with you at dinner :rotfl2: everyone else are potential axe murderers :rotfl:

Definitely Pat :thumbsup2 If this year's WBTA is anything like last year, it was anarchy at the adult pool and the Disney police got involved because of all the complaints. They were watching the CCTV to see how long the loungers had been left unattended and were putting belongings down to lost property. It was quite funny to watch :lmao: we gave up trying to get one after the first sea day and stuck with deck 10 instead. Only downside, longer to walk for a FAB :rotfl2:

Aren't there any drinks waiters wandering around Deck 10? They are sure missing out on their tips if not. Or is it a case of you just can't wait for the waiter?;):rotfl2:

We are fortunate in that we don't sunbathe or bother with the pools so don't have to fight for a sunbed. We do like the odd recline on the lovely Deck 4 steamer chairs and sometimes you can't get 2 together there.

We were so surprised when we went on the Wonder in January on the PC cruise. It was obvious they weren't used to having many sea days on that ship as there were so few sunbeds round the adult pool. Even the area which has the double sunbeds in on the Magic was set up with tables and chairs. People were bringing them from elsewhere to the pool. They also had fewer steamer chairs on Deck 4.:confused3

Your a little too late Pat... I already requested her for my cousin, Jana.. LOL I sure love those little Princess's ..... and Prince's I'm sure there will be enough to go around......

princess: You got it, Pat!! :thumbsup2

ETA: Oooops - I missed that! I forgot your cousin is coming Jill!

Pat - there have definitely got to be more we can hook you up with. Binkytell? Seraphine?

Jill - there is just one Princess/Prince tea for the little ones, right? So we would all end up in the same place? Not like Character breakfast assigned by dining time. :confused3 Or is this what we ask Guest Services for tickets for the day of embarkation? This is Alice's Tea Party?

Hi Mary,

Did you get my PM about paying you for the cups? I just want to pay everyone I owe before the cruise. I need all the souvenir (?) money I can. Compulsive Disney shopper you know. :rotfl:

Hi
Nice to meet you, It seems people from Perth really do get around, there are some more people from Perth on this cruise as well, Burnice (lovely lady) and her parents and of course us (myself and my daughter).
My mum lives in West Moor and I actually grew up in Burradon and funny enough that is where I'm going to be staying in October. There are some beautiful farm cottages that have been converted into modern holiday homes which are just perfect for just the 2 of us and where we won't be on top of my mum, it's also very close to a Morrisons so that's a plus. (a girl can only be without galaxy ripples for so long).
I would love to catch up so we'll have to organise something while we are on the boat.

Krystyne, Glad you have decided to join us on here more often! Miss ya![/QUOTE]

JILL, I MISS YOU AS WELL

Sorry to jump in:)

We also live in Newcastle upon Tyne. There are a few of us from this area on the WBTA :)
We don't live far from Jesmond. I used to spend all my summer holidays when I was younger in Killingworth/Burradon...lol's

I Love Jesmond :lovestruc a very pretty place. What did you get up to on your holidays up in Killingworth or should I not ask?
If there are more people from Newcastle here, I wonder do any of you remember the Tuxedo Princess and I think a nightclub called Tiffanies? I'm really showing my age now but I used to go there every Saturday night when I was 18-19

I did post this last week but I think it may have been lost in a few conversations that were happening at the time!!:lmao:

I know this has probably been covered but can't find any info so wanted to ask.

We have valid esta's from last years holiday.
At the time I was given the option to print mine out but all Hazel could print of hers was the confirmation page.

Now I know we have to take a print out of them to the port for check in but what exactly are they wanting on the printout??

Also doyou have to update the info from a previous trip on it? Eg flight details, address etc. We aren't even staying over in orlando as flying out the same day???
