I take Size 5 too and find that a lot of stores don't even carry shoes in that size :sad2: So I must admit to being constantly on the look out for shoes in my size when out shopping so that I can snap up any that I find and actually fit! :)

I am also a size 5 - sometimes 5 1/2!! One word ladies - Nordstrom. They carry a wider variety of sizes than other stores and I've been to some that carry shoes as small as size 4. Anyhow, I have never had trouble finding size 5's there :thumbsup2

Also if you want comfy shoes, I recommend Merrells. They also come in size 5's.

I had some not so nice news this morning b/c one of my websites - http://www.reception-wedding.com - isn't doing so well. Apparently these days I can't get any Google love unless I get people on Facebook to "like" my page. Don't you hate it when you've been doing something for years and then all of the sudden the rules change?? :confused3 Well anyways, today I am going to put a "Like" button on my pages...hope it doesn't take me too long!

No, for the second year running I won't be wearing many of my nice summer clothes at all. A good job we have this vacation to look forward to getting some wear out of them.

The sun is shining quite nicely here today so I figure if I change every hour I could actually wear a decent amount of my summer clothes for the first time this "summer" :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Now why didn't I think of that?:lmao:

My summer clothes last years and years and years and are well out of fashion by the time they get anywhere near worn out. Winter clothes however are soon finished with.

welcome home :)
i saved a couple of empty posts on the front page of this thread, if you want to PM me anything you had on the front pages of the previous threads i'll post it on there for you

think thats always the temptation when being properly away from home when you're young, i did it when i was younger and at uni and at butlins, and you quickly realise you cant keep it up without killing yourself!
glad she's settling in well though, how long has she been there now and how long has she got left?

Thanks Karen. She has been there 4 weeks and has 6 weeks left .... it is flying by. After the programme she is visiting friends in Seattle - so we won't see her now until the end of September :sad2::sad2: Still - what a great opportunity. She is still talking about going back and doing the CRP year programme after Uni finishes, so that is a good sign.

I need to find a good small fan that will travel, too. Neither of us can sleep in silence - it really is deafening. We have to have background noise! Need to test out the ones at Target to see if they are loud enough to make a difference.

I would gladly trade you some of our 98 - 101 degree days some of your cooler, rainy days!! :rolleyes1 All this week it's going to be in the upper 90's and probably about 110% humidity! :scared: Now if we could just arrange to make an even trade - cooler days for scorching days - I think everyone would be a little happier! :goodvibes

We have friends who take a sound machine everywhere. We were going to buy one but my iPad has an application now on there for the same. It sounds quite good actually. Haven't used it yet as I use ear plugs anyway because John snores soooo loud.:headache: Ear plugs are great!!:thumbsup2

I quite like a fan noise unless the fan has a slight regular change in the sound and then that can be much worse .

That's exactly how my husband and I sleep - with 2 fans going! When we were first married, we lived in a townhouse with neighbors on both sides being very noisy! We started sleeping with a fan going to drown all of their noise out. Now....30 years later.....we can't sleep without fan noise! :lmao:

Do you know the name of the iPad app? We're bringing that anyway, so a fan would be one less thing to pack!

Perhaps we could meet in the middle somewhere!!;) I don't like humid and at times it has been a bit humid today.

It is called WhiteNoise. Perhaps you could try it out and see if it works anyway. It mustn't have cost much or we wouldn't have it!!:lmao:

Claire, I nearly choked on my cup of tea this morning too, girl with no pants or anything on from the waist down :confused3 What were you up to while I was away:confused: I never saw any of that when I was catching up :lmao::lmao:

Are you going to enlighten me :rotfl2:

:lmao: It all stems back from months ago when I was saying I hadn't bought anything for the cruise other than one top & a new pair of sandals, then someone on here said well we will be able to spot you on the ship.

Welcome home Sarah - looking forward to hearing all about your trip :)

Well - I have ordered some material so I can attempt to make my first FE for the candy swap. I am not a very crafty person, but am going to give it a go. Has anyone made their own? Did you follow the instructions on the first page of this thread?

Any help would be very much appreciated :goodvibes

Good luck!!! I bought mine on ebay.

Just a FYI, have you all seen the post right at the top about PM's. They are going to clear out all our old PM's 6 months or older. I only just noticed it.

Thanks, i'd not seen that. :thumbsup2

Awwwww ... thanks everyone for all the welcome home messages
We did have a wonderful time although it was very different to our usual WDW holidays - we usually have very fixed plans but this time it was more of a a "go with the flow" type of approach. Taryn is loving her job in Hollywood Studios but when we first arrived she wasn't eating or drinking properly and with the heat etc she was feeling quite sick. She has realised that she can't do much other than work and rest now, and only go out and about on her days off. She was definitely trying to do too much.

Marilyn - I will definitely be doing just that .... packing a lot off stuff as soon as it is washed. I don't think I will be needing the summer clothing here
anyways.

Oh bless her, it sounds like she has been burning the candle at both ends.

I'm glad she is enjoying it. :)

Thanks for that, I think i'll get that for my iPhone. I can't sleep without a fan going in the bedroom, much to Lee's annoyance as he is always freezing.

That app is £1.49 (Approx $2.50)

I always travel with a small fan.. can't sleep without it... I tried the white noise but not the same... I also like the air being circulated and the white noise machines just can't do that.

Well I'll trade both of you... we are in our 18th day of temps over 100 degrees... meaning the heat index has been well over 110!

One of my favorite Jimmy Choos:

and my other favorite Christian Louboutin shoe:

I would break my neck in either one of those shoes. After my accident that year I pretty much keep both feet on the ground, or a 2 inch platform, that is the highest I will go. ha ha

Bless your heart is all I can say! :goodvibes With our heat index....it's usually over the 100 degree mark. When you get over 95 deg.....what's the difference if it's 96 deg or 101 deg.....it's just plain MISERABLE!!! :scared:

I have allergies that make it really tough to sleep w/ a fan on. Its not that I don't like the noise or the feel, but I'll wake up all stuffed up!

I hope you get it sorted. :wizard:

Thanks Claire! Its just a pain in the neck ;)

It's really a combo of the noise and the blowing air both. But it has to be loud enough to make a difference - some of the small desk ones are not very loud and at that point it becomes more annoying and you focus on it rather than it drowning things out!

Both DH & I can't fall asleep without the TV on. Years ago it used to be the radio now it's the TV. So we should be ok.
