Oh that is too funny - I know exactly where Andover Lakes is! Which sub-sub-subdivision of Eastwood does Ian live in? We lived in Augusta...Maybe they bought our old house :thumbsup2

It is too bad Ian isn't going - I think you mentioned he is 7? So is my oldest son who is coming along.

Laurie, Ian's mom and dad (Rob) live in Riviera in the preserve, so no they didn't buy your house. They move to Orlando 4 years ago when Rob finished his fellowship in Tx.

I always think that 'Anticipation' is half the fun of any vacation. We were originally supposed to do the WBTA last year, but thought we could get more money together if we put it off so we rebooked for this year. Then in December Ed was laid off from his job :scared1: so this trip was in serious jeopardy. Fortunately his layoff turned out to be the best thing that could have happened, as he then had more time to put into building up our cleaning business again, and lately it has really skyrocketed :woohoo: Sooo, we've had a long two years anticipation of this cruise ;)

I too have that after Christmas low where I am done with winter once the tree has come down. In an ideal world, that's when it is time to head to California or Florida to get some Disney magic.

We were supposed to do this cruise last year too, but as some of you know I was hurt and we could not, so technically I booked this cruise Oct 2008. It seems like I have been waiting forever.

I always say, the day after Christmas could be April 1st for as much as I hate winter. We always try to plan something in Feb to get away from winter. Either DH and I do something or my sister and I go to FL to see her grandkids. Anything to break winter up. Did I mention I HATE WINTER !!!!!

I think you may still get lost because our feather boa's shed more than my cat everytime we touch them so I'm thinking there will be multiple trails of pink feathers throughout the ship!! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: lol could see that would be a problem after a few glasses of champagne may well end up in someone esles cabin !!

And on the anticipation front I have enjoyed dreaming about this holiday, but after nearly 2 years of waiting when it comes down to the wire I won't be ready because I'm not the organised type

Does anyone know if you can get those yummy looking pizza's at Palo Brunch? If not, we may just have to go for dinner one night. It looked sooooooo good.

the pizzas are part of the brunch offerings :)

Perhaps you could move the High Tea once you get on board ... worth a try !!

I'll give it a try but i'm not holding out much hope as i'm sure everyone who has missed out will be trying to book onboard.

Wow, it sounds like it turned out to be a good thing that your cruise ended up being delayed a year.

Too true, it's all over by boxing day! I was so happy to escape the cold this past January....I wish I had another trip planned for next January. :guilty:

LOL --- I started a post and got sidetracked with kiddos! We were thinking along the same lines. :goodvibes

Great minds think alike!!!

Well I can only go from our last year's WBTA and the weather was magnificent, truly amazing. I so hope it will be just the same, but we can't really expect it. It was hot, hot, hot, with sunshine, and only the one rain shower at the other end of our 5 sea days. Then once we hit the Caribbean it became very humid too. We were lucky there in that only a week or so later the Virgin Islands had the worst rain for many years.

People told us beforehand that it had more chance of being rougher then the spring EBTA and of course it is in the hurricane season. Having said that the temperatures are obviously generally warmer that time of year. One of our CM friends told us at the end of the cruise that we would never know how hard the captain and crew worked to keep us out of rain etc, so all this helps.

We need all hurricanes to stay far far away!!

That sounds perfect! I was thinking about weather the other day - Barcelona looks like it will be in the low 80's-70's when we're there so it will be really nice.

:dance3: Glad you got your magnets sorted.

I had a quick google, they look comfy. I'm sure i've seen them whilst shopping in Orlando now, just didn't recognise the name. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Its a small thing, but I am pretty excited about sticking those little guys on our door

I agree it is an expensive night out but we don't really go out locally much (other than occasionally eating out), it still costs us £28 per person for the train/tube but it's worth it. :goodvibes

I am seeing South Pacific in a few weeks with my mum, sister & s-i-l....a girlie day out. :) Then early December Lee & I are going to see War Horse & do some christmas shopping. I've booked to see Totem (Cirque du Soleil) at the Royal Albert Hall in January, I saw it this year with my sister & her kids but booked again as soon as I got home for Lee as he likes CdS too & it was amazing. Lastly i've just this week booked tickets for One Man Two Guvnors with James Corden. I booked as a surprise for Lee then when I wrote it on my calendar I realised it's the day after Totem so i've booked a hotel and a nice restaurant too, i'll give him the tickets for christmas. ;)

I am going to see Ramin in "A Night with the Phantom" as a birthday present from my Mum, and I bought her a ticket for her birthday too .. that is in Manchester so no stop-over required. Then in January we are going to see Alfie Boe in concert ... part of Mum's Christmas present, and that is actually local ... in Llandudno !!

I am desperate to go to London on the 27th for the last night of Love Never Dies ... but at the moment I am on call so I will have to try and swap it. I would also love to go to the 25th anniversary Phantom concert at the Albert, but tickets are £180 :scared1:

Haven't seen Wicked, but that is definitely on my list !!

My Mum was a dancer in South Pacific and she always says that I was in it too ..... she was in early stages of pregnancy at the time she was in it. So maybe my love of musicals started in the womb !!! :rotfl2:

So jealous of you all! We love the theater - but we don't see musicals that often. We saw Mary Poppins last year and really loved that...hopefully we will catch another musical sometime this year.

Thanks for sharing this story Karen! I too was laid off once upon a time, and I haven't worked for somebody else since - its funny how at-first-devastating things can be wonderful in time. :goodvibes

I have to say that we love winter here! In FL, the winter months are usually the nicest & when we can actually go outside and do things without burning up. They are replacing our air conditioning system today and it is boiling in the house! I need to go for an ice-cream run!!!!!!!!!!!

...if you dont mind me asking, what makes the deck 5 hallways so good? we're right at the front of deck five...

They are short hallways, not the long ones that seem to go on forever (think Deck 6), where you are not sure which end of the ship you are on. The walls seem to have more wood paneling, too. So less traffic, since they are cul-de-sacs, not main thoroughfares. I was delivering FEs on Deck 5 forward, port, and thought "now, this is the place to be."

Aunt Lynne

Tried to PM you but it won't let me!

We tried to update our details on the wbtasep2011 website and it didn't work! Also tried to PM you and weren't allowed! Feeling technically challenged . . .

Well, now you've reached your 10 posts and it should work. The website is birknerjohn's domain.

In the private group room, they will bring out all the various types for us to try - multiples of ones we know we will want, too. If you need one to take with you to your room, they'll make it and wrap it up to go.

Can you take the food out after the brunch???

Hi all!

After months and years of wanting and dreaming of going on a Disney TA I finally was able to book it today!

I have been eagerly reading the boards about this cruise on and off for months, not sure if we could make it or not. We couldn't make the decision because my husband just didn't know if he could do it with work. Well, he finally told me there was no way he could do it and I was so depressed :confused3 that I just decided to book just for me and our 4 year old daughter! So here we come just the 2 of us!

I know a lot of the deadlines for get togethers have passed, but I hope we can still join in on some things. I'm game for anything and would enjoy the company!

Looking forward to meeting everyone! I've got a lot of planning to do!

Jenny :surfweb: and Filippa :cutie:

No room assignment as of 5:48 Eastern Standard Time. It just dawned on me that they likely do not assign rooms over the weekend. More anticipation....

Time to start drinking!!!!!

Welcome aboard!! That is so cool that you get to do this last minute - I know you and your little girl are going to have a great vacation together!

It's not too late for the cruise, though! (and some of the activities).

Since you're not totally new to this thread, you might know to go to the first couple of pages and find out if there's anything with an impending deadline.

I know the Fish Extender (FE) gift exchange officially closed, but I'm thinking they were going to have a catch-all group for people like you who booked late or found this site as they were doing last-minute planning.

You can send PM (private messages) to individuals on this forum (if you need to send personal information like real names ....) after you have made ten posts. I find it best to just get those posts in. Only need a word (or even a single letter) in the post to reach 10. Just have to wait a minute between posting for them to go through.

Ask any questions you want, we've all been new at one time. And others may be wondering the same thing you are - not everyone here has been with the group for a long time, many of the regulars are fairly new.

Again, W E L C O M E

Oh, I forget to do this every time. I am Lynne, I get my own room on this trip. 50 yo aunt of 4 girls (hence the name); 3 of whom have been on multiple cruises with me. This will be my 8th cruise (all DCL); 3rd one this year :scared1: I did the EBTA + Med last year. When not cruising, I am a stay-at-home daughter to my 82 yo Dad (who can apparently be left for extended periods).

I am going to England pre-cruise, over to Disneyland Paris, then down to Barcelona for a few. I actually leave in 25 days and am not ready. Booked this cruise in March when Expedia was offering $300 OBC & got the restricted GTY rate (meant I had to book it that day, no changes, no refunds allowed) - but definitely a better rate. Oceanview room (still don't know which one) for less than an inside.

I'm leaving behind DH and 2 teens, and have alot to do to make sure everything is in order before I leave. Maybe I should rent a "cook/chauffer/housekeeper/animal caretaker" for 2 weeks! :lmao:

Looking forward to meeting everyone! I've got a lot of planning to do!

Jenny :surfweb: and Filippa :cutie:

Welcome!!!! Are you Swedish? More Scandanavians!! I'm Taina, half Finnish, booked this cruise solo! Found a great roomate on the disboards, Evelyn (fly4free2)!
This is my 6th Disney cruise, all on the Magic! I just booked a few weeks ago myself! So, no its not too late to join the party!:dance3::woohoo::cutie:

Have you cruised with Disney before? I'm sure your DD will have lots of new friends to meet in the kids clubs and you will meet lots of new friends in the big kids clubs! :rotfl:
