definition for IRONING = Step 1. open closet door, get out clothes to be ironed, Step 2. Get laundry bag from closet as well. Step 3. Put clothes needing to be ironed into the bag. Step 4. Fill out the slip of paper that was attached to the laundry bag. Step 5. Sit bag outside stateroom door. The next afternoon (just like magic) your clothes will be hanging in your cabin all freshly ironed.... :rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And who said there was no such thing as magic!!!! :wizard: lol

sorry to all the ironing fanatics, but i plan on not doing any ironing at all. its my holiday and i plan on not having to do any ironing (i HATE ironing). so look out for the person in the (hopefully not too) crinkly clothes!

I'm afraid I'll be one of the crazy ones in the laundry room doing some ironing. My clothes get so wrinkled in the suitcase that I have to "somewhat" smooth out the wrinkles. My DH will amaze me with what he will put on to go out to eat. He'll wad his clean clothes up and stuff them in an already crowded drawer. Then when we are ready to go out of the house, he'll throw on shorts and a shirt that looks like he has slept in them for a week!!! :scared1: Even our boys have even told him that he's going to have to iron some of the wrinkles out before they will go out in public with him! lol

I do think they confiscate wine that is in your main baggage though So, make sure you don't pack that special expensive bottle and carry it onboard yourself!!!

You are right.. everyone needs to take liquor or other breakable liquid containers out of their check in bags and put them in a carry on before boarding. I had a carry on with nothing but wine and liquor in it. then a bag with more.... it goes through the x ray at the port but no problem with that....Disney is so good about letting you take on as much as you want.

Good thing I don't drink. I don't have to worry about it. Now tell me that the soda station up on deck 9 won't be there and there will be issues!!!:lmao:

My only concern is about getting my luggage in time to board the ship especially since we are flying standby. Always a scary prospect but the only way we could afford the airfare.

I am planning on taking a travel iron/steamer with us to use in Barcelona as the hotel charges 5 Euros to press clothes for you and DH wears shirts not t-shirts. Do you think we could just 'declare' our iron to Disney and have them hold it till the end of the trip ... I don't want to be sent to the 'naughty room':angel:

I'm pretty sure you could do that.

That is really cute. Thanks for telling me the story! ;)

Thanks...DH just asked me yesterday if you ever posted an explanation. He was very curious. Love the name, by the way :goodvibes...yep, quite unique.

I was waiting for this story, too. I think smootenloopers is easier to pronounce than your real last name, as it has those double a's at the end. Isn't Smoot a Dutch last name?

If I'd know I was keeping everyone in suspense, I would have tortured you a bit longer! :teeth:

I'm sure if you declare your iron, DCL won't press you too much on the matter . It's better to straighten things out at the start, and prevents everyone getting hot under the collar.

Nobody wants to get steamed up on vacation eh ?

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:littleangel:

ATTENTION EVERYONE
MORE INFO ABOUT LANYARDS

Now that I have your full attention, I just wanted to give out more information about our DIS lanyards. I have been emailing and PM'ing people who have not given me all the requested information before posting the long awaited lanyard list. What I will post is the main DIS persons name who requested the lanyards and the number of lanyards requested, not names. Please, please let me know before August 15, 2011 if you want a DIS lanyard.

I am getting ready to post a lanyard list so I thought I would repost the lanyard request instructions. Cutoff date for requesting a lanyard will be August 15, 2011

Allright-----WHO WANTS A LANYARD????
OK folks----

Let the sign-ups for lanyards Continue!!!

If you would like a FREE custom lanyard and name badge for this cruise (a great way to meet new people, identify other DIS friends, and put faces and names with screen-names), then I need you to EMAIL ME YOUR INFORMATION!!

Here is the information that I need:
DISBoards screenname: I need the DISBoard name(s) spelled and capitalized the way you want it on your name badge. For many/most groups, there will probably be only one DIS name for a group of people---that is totally fine. If there ARE multiple different DIS names/users in a group, let me know all of them but ALSO be sure to link the correct DIS name with the correct person.
First Name: Please give us the first name of EVERYONE in your party who would like a lanyard the way you want it to appear on the name badge. (Please remember that spelling counts!! The name you give here is what your name badge will say....so make sure it's correct!) Also---and this is important---make sure that the FIRST name you send is the primary DIS user under the screenname you send!
Stateroom #: Why do I need your room #? To get your lanyard to you! I will try to give out all the lanyards in the port or at a meet onboard during embarkation...but if I miss you, I need your room # so that I can deliver them to you later. If you are GTY, that's fine, just say so. There will be plenty of time later to fill in room #'s or to make changes if people switch rooms.

So please put all the above information into an email and send it to this address: dcl.wbta.2011@gmail.com

(Please note, I will not necessarily be replying individually to every person confirming receipt of their request for lanyards....HOWEVER, once I get requests rolling in I will be putting them into a spreadsheet on our website that I will link through google docs and people can view (but NOT edit) so you can look for yourself there to make sure you are listed and that all your information is correct...and then email me with any changes obviously).

Reminder/For new cruisers....

Come & join us for a Farewell DIS Lunch

Come & join us for a farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day. Thursday 22nd Sept at 12.15pm, we are not sure which of the three rotational restaurants will be open on that day, should there be more than one open I have put them in order of preference - 1st Lumiere's, 2nd Parrot Cay or 3rd Animator's Palate.

Please make sure you check your Navigator that morning to see which restaurant is open for lunch as I won't be able to tell you in advance.

Please PM me if you'd like to join, I need your first names/total number for your party, I will add you to the list and then once we are onboard i'll notify the restaurant so they can seat us together at some large tables.

We currently have 96 joining in so it should be a big fun DIS get together. party:

The kitchen staff is going to faint when they see 96 people in line at Lumieres for a sit down lunch.

I'm so sorry, MandyGirl. That is a potent testimony.
I also request near fire exit, and actually count the doors to it now as I know how quickly smoke can obscure vision.
I count doors too - and usually request a lower floor since I doubt my ability to do 18 flights of stairs even down.

AMEN sister.

not a fanatic about ironing for sure....but it was there and it was handy....that being said...I don't have an iron and I don't intend to iron and I don't use a curling iron anymore either although I must say mine did get pretty darn hot. The good thing about DCL...the WON'T confiscate my wine LOL!
Now, if they'd only figure out some way to iron out the wrinkles in my skin . . . .

There was a special on Amazon about a year ago that all the Dr. Who DVD Seasons were half price. We bought them all since it is sooo expensive to buy them otherwise. So DH has had me watch them all. We are probably going to bring a few DVD's with us (as well as portable DVD player) so we can have our fix on the cruise. If you need to see a doctor let us know.:thumbsup2

And if you visit the Dr. Who experience you had better bring pictures. My DH and I will have to live vicariously through you! :rotfl:

I could always use some doctor, thanks for the offer! And I will certainly have pictures. Now that i know there's an exhibit, nothing tear me away from it!
Let me know if you'd like to meet up over some vino or soda. Thinking of bringing some sparkling Prosecco or the like for the cruise.

Noel, the image appears to have been removed, at least on my screen? Just FYI.

There seems to be a problem with Photobucket not posting my entire image so I have removed the IMG file. Will work on in the AM.

I know can you imagine their faces! :faint:  That is why i'm keeping track of numbers so I can give them a heads up a few days before, plus they can group some large tables together.

We now have 104!! It is going to be a great end to the cruise. :dance3:
