We both have sweet teeth in this house!:rolleyes1 I never have the 'lunch' part of Palo brunch, those desserts are far too nice to miss. Plus the other sweet treats like the pastries and stollen bread with cream and strawberries!!!!:lmao:

I always look at the dessert menu first before ordering my dinner. When I can of course, On DCL it is separate.

I'm a lost cause as far as desserts go!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Here are some of the items I had signed on our first cruise, I can't find the Dream one's at the moment as i'm on Lee's laptop:

Inside cover - DCL Scrapbook album:
P1060661.jpg

Never thought of this Claire. I'll have to do it next trip when I have room in my luggage to bring my empty book on board:rolleyes1

How about just bringing the cover? That won't take up near as much space as the whole book!

Thanks. I do love to scrapbook even if I don't get much time to actually work on it.

I don't think I will have time to do ANY scrapbooking on the cruise though. I thought I would have all this free time to do stuff on sea days on the last TA and I remember that when the cruise was over we all (our tablemates included) sat there looking at each other saying we didn't have time for..... :rotfl:I have a feeling the same will happen this time too. I won't even bother with bringing supplies except for the exchange. And I definitely won't bring more then one book. :rolleyes1

I scrapped on our back to back cruise in 2009. All my supplies fit in a pizza box - it was a great conversation starter. The biggest issue was keeping things from blowing in the wind on the pool deck where I chose to scrap.

Last cruise, I saw two women scrapping upstairs in the Cove cafe on the Wonder - they were at the shelf table that overlooks the pool. It looked like fun. But dang - I'm thinking the luggage weight for flying to Spain is already to little for the clothing alone. Don't know how I'd manage scrappy stuff too.

Totally convinced the people who travel with just carryons must be size 2 and not 'Pooh sized' like me.

Happy Day, all!

Marilyn

I was a bit too full and thought that I wasn't going to manage main course or puddings, so the server brought me a half portion of chicken parmigian, which was just the right size :thumbsup2 I think I'll do that again :)

What lovely photos of Palo Brunch desserts to see - we both have very sweet tooth's here :)

I think it's lovely to see what scrapbooking can achieve - all that time and effort and the results are amazing:thumbsup2

:goodvibes Do you have a link to the Kids thread? I remember hearing that kids were going to post, but can't recall seeing the thread. I will get Mallory to post on there so she can chat to Sarah. My other daughter is 10, so I am hoping she will find a friend her age as well! My girls are a little shy at first and I am hoping My husband and I will get a little more alone time on this cruise!!! We were on the Wonder in March and the ship was packed, so they didn't leave us very often!!:goodvibes

I hope Sarah and Mallory can get to know each other, Sarah is in the process of posting on the kids thread right now. Does Mallory post on there? 2 weeks is along time to "hang out with mom", she will need some friends!

Well that is another option I suppose. But, I would still rather have an extra dessert(or two;)):rotfl2:

We were part of a group in the private room once for Brunch and one of our group asked if she could have one of their fillet steaks and they did it for her.:confused3 :thumbsup2 I was still tucking into my breakfast pancakes and fruit when it appeared. Just the steak, nothing else on the plate.

That's just unnatural. Luckily for me, Dennis is just as incapable of packing light as I am, so at least I won't have to listen to him gripe about the amount of luggage we have!

Can she crochet? I might have to teach her! ;)

Nope, but she's teachable! I also keep forgetting how long we will need to be waiting prior to boarding at JFK. I think we are getting there 3 hrs early mainly since Curt is standby, so we'll have time to explore new things!

With packing light, I mixed and matched outfits last time, used packing cubes, and it worked. :thumbsup2 And it was on Celebrity, so it's not like we were dressing down for dinner or being nudists or something. ;)

Happy Day, all!

Ha! Slap a "one" in front of that size two and that is my GOAL to get to. But... that's good incentive for me to keep going to boot camp - can pack lighter if I can purchase new smaller-sized clothing! (Five more minutes in bed now... not ready to get up yet!!)

That's a great idea for a half portion! I will have to try that as well! :thumbsup2

I'm really nervous about what to pack and hoping if i get an inside cabin that it doesn't start to smell of old socks by day 10... I've never packed for 15+days with out laundry cleaning and I don't really want to pay. Is it doable and can i pack light?

There are several laundry rooms. It is $2 per load for the washer and $2 for the dryer. I usually end up washing at least one load if not two. I take the clorox 3in1 sheets but only use 1/2 a sheet. They don't take any room in your luggage.

Ok so far for the Scrapbook Cove Cafe meet I have:

Me
Mary (Tod&copper)
Pat (Pflamingo)
Lauren (Namsupak)
Linda & 2 roomies (Lindababe)

Did I miss anyone? Any one else care to join us on a sea day (to be decided) for a coffee & chat about all things scrapbooking? Let me know & i'll add you to the list. :thumbsup2

sign me up.

I have been known to pass by a restaurant because nothing takes my fancy on the dessert menu!!!!! Seeing all the photos of yummy desserts is getting me more excited about cruise than anything!

What I like is that they are nice small portions so I can try lots of different ones!

Just in case you were interested, I got an email today from www.scrapyourtrip.com (today only) 20% off Disney related products. No coupon needed. Also I believe it is free shipping on orders $75 and over with code. Might be a good day to look for scrapbook exchange items.

:headache: Oh man! I wish the shipping fee's weren't so expensive. :guilty:

I like the fact that the desserts are small(fairly;)) too. Also at normal dinners they always serve a dessert selection as a choice which is three tiny(sorry but they are) servings of that evening's desserts. HOWEVER, you can always ask for more than one dessert and get the normal sizes!:rotfl2:

To those of you who recommended the Stieg Larsson books (The Girl Who Wore a Dragon Tattoo, etc) to me for good cruise reading.....I finished the last book and I thoroughly enjoyed them! :worship::worship: We went to the beach last week and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest was attached to my hand the whole time! Ready for some more suggestions people!!! Thanks again!!!!!:banana:

I have always wanted to learn how to crochet. I'll trade you scrapbooking lessons for crochet lessons :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the tip! I can't pass up a good scrapbooking sale... DH would be the first to tell you. ;)

Can you buy soap onboard? or is this something we should be looking for in Barcelona? Coming from Macedonia, they don't have any "travel size" anything, so we would be without soap and such.

i dont scrapbook myself but i'm loving the excuse to go shopping!

They sell laundry detergent and fabric conditioner in the laundry rooms. You just swipe your card and it goes on your onboard account.

There are also toiletries in the shop onboard, not sure if the also do laundry detergent there too.

I was just checking back through the MV thread to see when I got my room assignment...it looks like the first few got theirs at 55 days out, then more of us (including myself) got ours 47 days out...

Not that it matters, since I think Disney just likes to tease everyone with GTYs :goodvibes
