i just hope people who have committed to joining group brunch dont try to get own reservation as it will be letting the others down  if the numbers go below 12 and it has to be cancelled :sad2:

I noticed that comment. Previously if people cancelled the others had to pay the extra charges(?$20 per missing person) so they must have changed the rules.

I think in the past if you have a group reservation you won't be able to physically book an individual one as it will be in the computer. However with a quiet cruise they might let them go on a waitlist for a second one once onboard.:confused3

Today's a good day!

I just looked at our reservation on American Airlines and noticed two exit row seats were open between JFK and Barcelona and I snagged them! :thumbsup2

We are flying on what are called "AAnytime" awards, which means that it treats them like full fare coach. This gets us the benefit of two free bags each and the ability to book exit rows in advance!

It's not business class unfortunately, but this is the next best thing on a 7.5 hour flight! And the tickets only cost us $10 each (stupid security fee)!

Wish we had checked that out! Exit seats give you SO-O-O-O much more leg room which is always a good thing (especially on a long flight!) That's great! :thumbsup2

Here's a heads up for scrapbookers. I was at JoAnn Fabric yesterday and picked up these borders for scrapbooking ... as soon as I saw the row of drinks I thought of you guys and your FABs  They were on sale at 40% off so I only paid $2.19 for them .. great deal! They are so much cuter IRL than the picture, about 1/2 of them have glitter :cloud9:

30-594302.jpg

PS: the 40% off scrapbooking supplies is good until 7/17

Sur La Table? :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Are you a Sur la Table addict too? I just love it in there :goodvibes

Congrats on the great airfare. I wish we could get our seat assignments - we are flying on AA too but Iberia is doing part of it I think. Anyhow, we keep calling but nobody wants to give us seat assignments.

Maybe you have your Karens mixed up ... I'm pretty sure that Karentan lives in England :goodvibes

You're right! I was confusing Karentan w/ Rikersmom. Sorry guys!

Sur La Table, Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma. I love any store selling kitchen gadgets!

We are solely on AA, but I saw that they are doing some flights with Iberia now (through Miami?).

Aww that's a shame, you little 'un would have looked so cute in that outfit. :cutie:

Good morning everyone!!

Are people taking a nice 3 or 4 day weekend this weekend for the holiday?

I am working about 1-2 hours today and then off to do some shopping - off to the produce market since I am making seafood gumbo tonight (yum!) and then Sur La Table for a cherry pitter since I am making cherry pie this weekend and then Ann Taylor Loft since they are having 40% off everything in store and I just can't stay away!!!! :cutie:

It looks like rain here today and we've had a lot of thunder this morning but no drops yet. We plan to hit the beach w/ our dog this evening, but it depends on the weather.

Here is a photo of my dog at the beach. He loves it there.

Cute doggie. :goodvibes

Sounds like you have some fun things planned to celebrate 4th of July.

It's our 10th wedding Anniversary on Monday and i've planned a surprise for Lee, we are going to London on Sunday & staying over night. I've got lots of surprises booked for us and I can't wait! :cool1:

Hope you all enjoy your celebrations, whatever you are doing. :)

That's great, you will definitely appreciate the extra leg room on the long haul flight. :thumbsup2

I'm curious, do you not have to pay any taxes when booking your flight using your awards/points?

We got stung over $300 in taxes for our flight from Miami to London after the cruise, I booked it all using our Virgin Atlantic miles.

I guess not. In the US we have to pay $2.50 per flight segment for the "September 11 Security Fee" (read: a fee for what I like to call TSA Security Theater).

So it's $5 each way for each of us, as we have connecting flights in each direction.

We didn't have to pay any fuel surcharges, taxes or other fees on the ticket.

So cute! Would be great for Tortolla - Soggy Dollar Bar! I'm heading into Raleigh tomorrow for some errands before going to the beach. *Message to self - go by JoAnn Fabric for borders!* Thanks for the tip (and getting 40% off is not shabby either! lol)!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Karen, you like to dance at the parties? Me too! But my husband never dances w/ me, so maybe I will have to find you at the deck parties so I have a dancing partner :banana:

yeah i'm not against making a fool of myself doing all the party dances. gary will probably be in the adult hottubs anyway avoiding the party so need a dance partner!

Noticed this wasn't answered, so I'll give it a shot:

A whole bunch of this crew has gotten cabins in the same area of the ship - either Deck 5 or 6, probably forward, as they were looking at sideways cabins.

They'll be dancing in the hallways with each other, they're so happy to be on the Party Deck. Okay - that's it in a nutshell.

Now someone can do a better job than my description, right - please? !

it started because all the people on deck five were telling the deck six people to keep the noise down. so we started threatening to do the riverdance just to annoy them!

just spent a fortune in the disney store, 50% off sale meant it had to be done lol

really wanted this but was sold out :sad1:

Hope you have an awesome time in London celebrating!

Sorry, been superbusy and I'm way behind on the posts here. I have heard from quite a few people. Is there a group of 4 or 2 and 2 or 3 and 1 who specifically want to join us (2 young kids/boys, and adult with limited mobility) and then maybe everyone else get together to do his earlier/morning tour that he has available? I'm happy with anyone joining us, but don't want to slow anyone down or cramp their style - if you don't want to be around kids i will understand.

Hi No worries :) time is slipping away fast - we have contacted Paul (Gib tour) to see if he has a second bus - waiting for a reply -will update if we have any seats free when we hear back from him

Well we leave for Orlando tomorrow and just in case I don't have time to log on in the morning ( I will try though) I just want to say goodbye to everyone for 17 days. This is the first time I have been to Florida with absolutely no fixed plan of attack and it feels really strange to be winging it like this, but with not knowing Taryn's shifts etc it is hard to plan ahead. :thumbsup2

Have a great holiday

Count us in as cruising- as of TODAY!!!

We just paid for our cruise, and are making flight arrangements as I type...
We're SO excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that we're onboard- I've got to look around and see what we want to participate in!!

WOO HOO !!!!!!

Glad to hear the good news -:dance3:

Happy 4 of July to all U.S. fellow cruisers, Happy Canada Day to all Canadians, and just a general "Happy Week-end" to everyone else!:tinker: Have a safe week-end!

Happy Holidays / Anniversaries / Birthdays :woohoo:
