Ok it is official! We are booked! I am so excited - this means we did both the WBTA and EBTA last year AND this year!!! Looking forward to seeing some of my past DIS friends and also meeting new people!

We are still GTY for a 5c but that is ok - I know we will have a room at some point! We are on early dining and requesting our favorite server - we have had him for 62 nights so far on the Magic (this will add another 14) I am so excited!

It will be me, DH (Ashley), DD-16 and DS - 14

yay! at least it might help you worry a bit less. she'll have the time of her life and you get to see her soon which will help.
just had a thought - we've done 103 pages in the last 16 days, if we're not on the next thread by the time you go on holiday can you remind me to start it early so you can get your excursion info on there before you go away?

Tony and Jane were exactly the same when their DD left for Florida when she started working for DCL in March. We were all pacing waiting to hear that she was okay.

She got the mears shuttle/magical express at MCO so there was no worries about her getting to WDW safely. They'll take good care of her.

I would be worried sick too, I am dreading the first time Rachel goes on a flight on her own

Glad you had a nice time! We made the same mistake - tried to book an excursion first, followed by Palo brunch and then found no reservations left for high tea

Yes, I guess it was a rookie mistake to book other things first. But you live and learn!

That stressed me! I was soooo afraid we had a family thinking they were signed up who were not. I looked closer at my spreadsheet and searched individual family member names (I usually tried jotting those down - not just DIS name) and that is how it was resolved. Sent a PM to make sure it's the same person, which I am certain it is. I would have felt so sad not getting in touch with a family who thought they were on an excursion... but not.

Mandy, I just wanted to say that I think its really sweet of you to worry so much about others. You are obviously a very thoughtful person!

OK, I have to do a second post. Great concert; I'm inspired.

Thanks for the compliment Mandy. I really liked the titles you suggested for the FE groups. Even though we aren't using them, I'm sure that we'll have a lot of "sons of a son of a sailor" on this cruise, try plenty of "boat drinks" and keep watch for "fins to the left and fins to the right" as we sail.

Hope the weather stays good because I don't want to be "trying to reason with hurricane season." I just want to go to Pluto's and have a "cheeseburger in paradise". Maybe they serve "fruitcakes" in the dining room; if not, maybe "grapefruit juicyfruit" on the buffet.

Any "volcano" on the islands better stay quiet or we'll have to call for help on the "coconut telegraph". I don't know where Ima gonna go when the volcano blows!

So, we'll have a great time and listen to the "jolly mon sing" while we go through our "changes in latitude, changes in attitude". And then, we'll all be sad when we pull into that "one particular harbor". Many of us will be heading to WDW, but some will do the "Pascagula run".

OK, OK, I'll stop. Sorry if you don't follow JB. You'll think I've gone off the deep end! Besides, my wife wants the computer back.

Don't forget "Yes, I am a pirate" on Pirates night and if anyone gets involved in a fight that night.....I'm sure "some people will say there's a woman to blame!" Just went to our first Buffet concert about a month ago....best concert ever (were we living on another planet all these years to not have gone to one of his concerts?????)! He knows how to have fun!

LOL! I got a real kick out of this. My late brother David used to be the lead singer for the Parrothead Party Band in Virginia Beach so of course the whole family likes Buffet!

Have you ever been to the Margaritaville cafes? I've only been to the one at Universal Orlando and the one in Key West - amazing nachos there!!

I noticed the following changes since last September:-

Cove Cafe, now has a disabled access button you have to press to open the doors from the outside. I stood under the sensor for ages like a muppet before the waiter inside came over to let me know

The loungers have change at the family pools/deck 10, much better than the slatted plastic ones. They are now a solid blue plastic mesh type, but definitely an improvement. The old ones came out on the sea days when they were running short

The kids clubs are now called Edge (Tweens) and Vibe (older teens)

Drinks station at deck 9 is no longer an island which you can walk round, they have been put back against the Walls at the back corner

West End Gallery now has pictures being sold by DCL, the usual character prints, but not as many as before

Spy holes in room doors

Wave phones (which are brilliant and easy to use, basically your cruise mobile phone for texting and phoning everyone)

Palo has new crockery

Up Beat shop had no alcohol sales this cruise. Spanish authorities put the foot own and said it wasn't purchased in Spain, so no duty free for sale. Kitchen trinkets were gone too. On a plus side it had gorgeous pashminas for $12, i bought 2, and handbags, it was like a ladies accessory shop

New merchandise in the shops, so there's lots of new t-shirt styles to add to everybody's collection we bought 5 between us

Thanks Mary! I was wondering if there had been any changes, so this is great. SO happy that the deck chairs have been improved, they were looking pretty tired last spring - just not up to the caliber of quality of the rest of the ship.

My sons are 34 and 36--I still worry. Kevin ran a marathon this weekend in Alaska. Of course, wouldn't you know there was an earthquake in Alaska this week! Just what a mom wants to hear. Anyway, he was fine--did very well in the run--and I didn't even panic when he told me the rules about what to do if you met a bear or a moose along the way.

We'll be waiting to hear where Taryn will be working. At least the bears and moose(es?) at WDW are not real.

Karen, Pat and everyone else involved in organising all the events etc, thank you so very much. It is no easy task as I mentioned earlier. You shouldn't really have to go chasing people up who haven't posted in months and months.

Fellow cruisers, it is YOUR responsibility to check and double check if you have properly signed up for events etc.

Neither of you are being difficult or a pain. Directions are clearly spelled out in the first few pages of the thread. That is why those posts are copied to the beginning of each new thread.

Hooray for you I only just finalized my idea, so now I have to hand draw, hand cut, and hand drill (Ed is drilling) ... bet you can't guess what it is

For my British friends out there I've been watching a show on Netflix called Wire in the Blood and while I'm really enjoying it, I am surprised by how graphic it can be ... it well and truly outstrips CSI in that arena. I was just wondering if this is general tv viewing or is it shown on something like HBO or Showtime?

BTW I love Robson Green, I'm definitely going to look him up on more shows
