Oooohhhh ... it would be great to have them sooner as then I could get cracking.

Port names sounds like a great idea :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Ah, theatre in London! I've seen Phantom, Cats twice, and a couple of other shows there. But that was a looooong time ago. I know tickets in London used to be much less expensive than New York. We paid around $100 per ticket in NYC. Part of the reason we haven't been back there. Although, I'd love to go and see some of the current shows on Broadway.

I need to take Dennis to London someday. But I don't think he'd really want to do England and Scotland the way I did in my younger days - a backpack, a BritRail pass, and a hostel card, and I was all set!

Okay, time for a

FE UPDATE!!

I've got the list divided up. I've got 20 spaces in each group, but I've left a couple blank on each, to add in people who are still signing up.

I have two questions:

1) Would everyone like their group now, to see who you will be giving to? They include all the info about who's who, kids, ages (kids only), and genders. Please be aware, I will be adding people to each group as they sign up (up to 20 cabins per group, until the August 1 cut off), so you will likely get a couple of cabins added to your group yet.

2) What should we name the groups? I noticed that one cruise named theirs after tropical fruit. I've tentatively named them after our ports of call (we have 6 groups and 6 ports, not including Port Canaveral), but if someone has something more interesting, creative, or memorable, I'm open. Let's hear some ideas!

Okay, I have three questions ("No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!"):

3) How should I post these? I tried creating a document on our Facebook page, but I couldn't get it to work in the table format I used. Same with posting it here. Noel - I was wondering if I could send the file to you to post on the website. I used Word to create the tables. I guess I could post here, but I'll need to reformat everything so the lines aren't all running into each other. Unless someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong!

Now I need to get going on making my gifts! I'm waaaay behind schedule!

I would love to have it now as there are so many things to buy and this is my first time with FEs, I would like to at least start THINKING about getting things. Port names is a great idea!

I have small kids and maybe I'm naive or reckless, but I'm okay with you posting my kids names and ages. Except for when they are secure in the kids clubs I don't intend for them to be out of my sight - they would certainly never be in the cabin alone. Now, I would never give out that info in conjunction with my home address...

Two things:

1. For FE's if we know it will be 20 cabins per group, I am fine with now or later for getting my group. For posting, posting to the web site might be best, or you could set up a google doc site. Or we could PM you emails (which might be a lot of work, and you can email us the list). Just a thought.

2. Luggage pre-check. We are flying Delta, which is one of the allowed pre-check. My question is this. So you put your luggage outside the door the night before and you never see it again? Or do you check it with the airline at the port? If it is outside the door, how do you get your toiletries and other "not allowed liquids and items" in your luggage? We usually hold back some toiletries and other things that we carry off and then transfer to our luggage once we get on the pier as we need these things but not all of them are TSA allowed in carry on. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Amanda (Fontabel)

we have 12.30 - 1.30 booked. :dance3:

Last time we were in Bulgaria on vacation and decided to book a jetski for a laugh - sooo the 3 of us (i know) went off into the sea slowly at first then increased speed. As I did the jetski started to lean and i could not compensate and we eventually tipped off into the water.:scared1:

We were totally overweight and had absolutely no training so this is not a typical scenario - needless to say lessons learned  Mind you with the flotation vests there was no real danger and we recovered eventually with the help of a coast guard" dude .pirate:

They are sometimes limited to what speed they can go , otherwise its up to your throttle hand

Falling off is one of the worst things that can happen and its not too bad once you have experienced that fun :dance3: AND there is a class so its not like we will be on our own .

Feeling any better ????:rolleyes1
mmmm...no..LOL's But I will give it a go.

We're on the last tour - 2:30 - 3:30 so we can have a nice relax - well ok, me plucking the courage up:rolleyes1 - day on the beach and then after that, head back on the ship.

Today I am leaving to board the Disney Dream. I am a nurse and have volunteered to accompany a child that has been granted a make a wish cruise. I can only imagine how many pages of reading I will have to catch up on when I return on Tuesday. Have a great weekend everyone.
What a wonderful thing to do.

Welcome aboard carolsherman! It's going to be a blast.

I had my thesis defense today and PASSED!:banana::banana::banana: Now I've officially earned this cruise and just have to hang around till graduation with no cares :goodvibes

Congratulations. Yes you earned the cruise!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I will be happy to post them on the website. Just send me the document and I can convert to Excel which is easier to post.

Thank you! That would be great! I hope it converts all right, I created the sub groups as 6 different tables. May I please have your email again?

An excellent suggestion. We used Google Docs to create the website. However, it is easier to post an Excel spread sheet here on the DIS or on our website.

Okay, I just created a WBTA group, and uploaded the tables on Google Docs. But I can't figure out how to "share" the document with the group. It says "enter name, emails, or groups" but when I do that, I get an error message about not understanding the email address. I'm sitting here talking to the computer saying, "It's not an email address, it's a group! You said 'enter...groups.'" Of course the computer isn't talking back. Good thing it's just the dogs here with me.

Noel - help! What do I need to do to share this thing?

I figured I'd post the group link here, let people request an invitation, and add them that way. Or do I have to hand-enter all the individual email addies?

Our website is not discoverable on the net so it is fairly secure. If people want to just post boy or girl and their ages, it is fine with us. If I post an Excel spread sheet, then no one can edit except me.

Last WBTA, we had everyone's name including the kids names and ages on the first page. Since I don't have young children this is a moot point for me. If people are uncomfortable with posting children's names and SR numbers, I understand. Do remember, we are not posting last names so even if people have your SR number, they DO NOT have your last name unless you post it.

That's what I was thinking - we already have names, relationships (DH, DD, etc.) and ages listed on the first page. Only one person asked me to withhold the names, which I did. I haven't included any additional info in the FE list, though. I'm trying to make the Google group invitation only, which should help with security. Disclaimer, time - I can't guarantee I'll recognize every person who requests an invitation, but I will do my best to verify against the roll call on the website and my master list.

Bless you!! I know when I pass people in the airport wearing their Wish tshirts as a family, I literally have to hold back tears.

That's the way to do it! Although we did "LateRooms" to find B&Bs instead - deeply discounted for same night rentals.

Cheeseburger
Fins
Pop-Top
Salt
FlipFlop
Flamingo

I think Curt said he is fine with first names, but he is skeptical with cabin numbers. I can PM my FE group our cabin number since we changed recently. (Yep, a Daddy protective of his little girls.) Maybe because it's our first cruise with them. When it's been just the two of us, no big deal in the past. I know on FB we have full names, but at least that is narrowed down to the people in the group and not accessible to general public. I know the incident on the WBPC was hopefully an isolated incident by those two boys (who someone said was concierge class), and I know my girls would never be without us or Kids Club, but I have to be honest that after seeing those YouTube videos, it has certainly raised our awareness of the (in)security onboard cruiseships. :sad2: Not enough to damper it, but enough to be more cautious than we would have been six months ago.

Just wondering what company everyone is going with on the horseback tour on St. Maarten? DH and I just started talking about it and would be interested too since it's early in the morning everyone is going. Do you get to ride in the ocean with the horses? Thanks!!! :goodvibes

I am not too sure of all the technical issues here. could you attach the tables in an email to me?
Also, can you share the Google Doc with me at nbirkner@gmail.com and invite me? Then I will send you the next question to get this resolved.
thanks, Noel

Sounds good to me!

Debra, we booked with st Maarten cruise excursions, if you google it you should be able to find them. If not let me know and I'll post the link (on iPhone at mo
So not as easy to find stuff) it's through a stables called lucky stables and you do
Get to take the horses into the sea :)

Pat - not sure if this affects anything with the FE gifts but I ordered 50 of something and only got 49 of them! If I'm signed up for 50 already then I'll make one extra something different for the other one.

O, that's what we also did years, and years ago. It was a nice way to explore England and Scotland.

Groupnames of the ports are fine.
And I hope it work out with google docs. I know I can share that, but to a group I haven't done that yet. Probely Noel gets it on her document and we can see it soon.

Tortola to Jost VanDyke Excursion ---

Got the answer back on transferring cameras to shore -- :thumbsup2

"Yes - they both get close to shore and we care all of your items to
shore for you in water tight containers - during the winter season we do
this trip nearly everyday so we have a good routine that takes care of
everyone"

If I've counted correctly, you should have no more than 48, so 49 should cover it.

I think Curt said he is fine with first names, but he is skeptical with cabin numbers. I can PM my FE group our cabin number since we changed recently. (Yep, a Daddy protective of his little girls.)

No problem. I didn't put their names on the list, so you can PM those to your group w/ your cabin number.

Do me a favor, please, and send me a PM to remind me to take your cabin number off the list I'll be posting.

Noel - I'll send you the file this evening or tomorrow. When I went back to count cabins to answer Karen's question, I noticed an error in her count. I want to double check everyone else's before I send it to you, but I have to go to work right now.

I have not cruised WBTA on Disney, but from my past experiences, you have to claim your luggage in the big room where you disembark the ship and then present passport and papers that you filled out on board as to what you are bringing back with you. :scared1: So, any little things you need to stick in your suitcase you will have time to do that.:dance3:

To disembark on Transatlantic back to Florida is the same as usual getting back to Florida get luggage in bldg and then show passport.

Thanks for all the welcomes can't believe how fast postings are to keep up with LOL.

This will be my 15th Disney cruise. Wish I could do back to back but bringing ship over and bringing it home will be great.

What is everyone doing for Gilbraltar I have done the rock once and been there twice. In May I did not get off the ship there. Does anyone know if there are shops right when you get off the ship????

Hi Pat :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 thanks so much for all your hard work on the FE. I surppose the list sooner rather than later would be good, since it's our first time we still haven't got our heads around it yet

Whatever way you decide do things is great, and port names sound good to me.

Loads of debate about the technical stuff.....sorry don't have a clue about any of that

Just thankful you are so organised :worship::worship:

Either way is fine with me as long as I know when the "final" list is done.

Port names work for me!

I am one of those unfortunate ones who has to schlep a laptop along on vacation for work purposes (work for a small company and am the only one who does financial stuff, etc.).

I've been on the Wonder, so I'm painfully aware of the speed of the internet access onboard, but am wondering about availability (Europe, Atlantic crossing, Caribbean) variability. I know storms and such can impact, but what about just geographical location? Does anyone who has done the EBTA or WBTA know what kind of consistancy there is to just having it available throughout the cruise? Our security officer would frown upon my taking the computer ashore and trying to find an internet cafe with wifi.
