Shows you where my mind is - I read this as the quantity of beer on the ship, not the price. My second thought was, "what if they ran out in the middle of the ocean??!!" :drinking1 :rotfl2:

That's too funny:rotfl2: I thought I was the only one that read things wrong.:confused3

Monique.... I am so glad you and Bill are going on this one too.... I enjoyed meeting you on the EBTA and look forward to spending more time with you on the WBTA......xoxo

Quick post;

Pat; my personal taste would be not to split up the FE's, but then again I'm used to doing FE with dozens of cabins signup up.

If you would split up, I'ld do it in like 14 or multiples of that. While it will never work out perfect, that would give a chance of having something in the FE each day for participants. Aint we all signing up because we like being surprised by the end of the day by what's in the FE that day? ;)

If there is a split up, I'll be joining more than one group. My van is starting to become a bit cramped in perhaps with all that has to be dragged along, but that is with the FE gifts already taken into factor for a "all in one group"-FE, so to say.

For those that have signed up to the candy swap; yep, noticed the PM's (2 more folks joining us :thumbsup2 ), will answer them + update the list later on.

Have a great weekend all!

I do like the idea of multiples of 14. If we don't assign people to certain days (and I hear the groans from people who want it to be spontaneous and not assigned....sorry!!!! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1), what happens if say 8 - 10 people decide to deliver the FE gifts all on the same day? My little FE isn't big enough for that many gifts!!!!! I will go along with whatever is decided but just keep in mind that lots of people could deliver on the same day and if you are gone all day, you could come back to a pile of gifts all over the hallway. I'm just saying......;)

Jeremy just asked how much bottled beer (Bud Light) is aboard the ship. Does anyone have some recent experience they can share on drink prices?

Husband seems to think it was about $4$5/bottle. You can buy a souveneir mug (22 oz) for about $15, then on the ship you buy 22 oz beers at 16 oz prices. Then you get to keep the mug! :thumbsup2

FE NOTICE

First, do you think we should split the list or not?

Yes

Next, how many staterooms do you think would be reasonable for each list?

20

Finally, would you be interested in participating in more than one list?

Maybe

Hope this helps.
Judi

Another question! (Clearly you can see that talk today has been all about the cruise!)

Does anyone that has done the WBTA (or EBTA for that matter) have a packing list for the cruise? I have seen some in the passporter but they are more general. Looking for some specific advice on what you took (and what you wished you hadn't) for 14 days.

FE NOTICE

We're approaching 40 cabins (89 people) signed up for the FE, so it's probably time that we discuss whether or not we want to split the list.

If you are participating in the FE, please post your opinions/preferences on the following:

Hi all,

First an aside. Misjudit, Good to see one of the former Turkeys here on the WBTA! Hope the family is all well.

Noel, can you remove the tshirt information from the welcome wagon since Mandy has lined up a far better option that what I was finding!

I think that we are going to stay at WDW for a few days post cruise and DH is going to join us. Now I have to plan for that too! Think I'm going into planning overload.

Finally, I am actively seeking signups for the Stateroom tours! I have a 9D, 7A and 11A. Anyone else want to help me fill up that list?

Karen

Karen, Welcome Wagon post has been changed. Keep me posted on the Stateroom tour for the Navigator.

We've been on a couple Spring Break cruises out of FL and San Juan... and have heard of other ships running dry. REVOLT! As long as they have fru-fru drinks with an umbrella, or just Malibu and juice, I'm set. :thumbsup2

I also have a little FE we are making.

I guess if assigning days... 14 is the magic number. If random, then 20 so that our odds of NOT receiving a gift are less probable.

We are going to try to take little "Fairy Gifts" for our girls as well. Things I was going to pack anyway, but can throw in as surprises along the way. New set of PJs, new dress, Princess markers, etc. That way if we don't get a FE gift one night, then we still have a "Fairy Gift" to save the day...

You two crack me up. :) We are going to try to pack as light as possible. Clothes that can be pieced together. I know there are some packing lists out there though, and I always read through them thinking "REALLY?" on some of the items. Of course, some lists are for people not flying and having to do luggage restrictions. The most stressful part of packing for me is what to wear for dinner. I don't want to be under-dressed. During the day on a cruise (and at home - except for church), I'm a tshirt, shorts, Keens, ponytail, no makeup kind-of girl. :cool1:

On the EB last yr, I found a lighted digital clock priceless for those times we would wake up in the middle of the night in our inside cabin and have no idea what time it was. I just took a small electric one from home and plugged it in by the tv...we both could see it easily.

I also found a highlighter very useful for marking the navigator (pink worked better than yellow).

As for clothes, etc....pack what you think you need and remove at least a fourth. Do laundry and try not to take too many shoes! Not easy for us :goodvibes. Since Larry is really sensitive to scented detergents, I made laundry "packets", placing the right amt. of our normal det. in a ziploc bag with a washcloth, then just threw the cloth into the washer. I took 5 (and still ended up buying a little box of Tide from the machine); it was easy and cheap. We did buy the Purex unscented all-in-one sheets but found them still too strongly scented for him and gave them away.

Ziplock bags in various sizes came in handy for a variety of things...highly recommended.

I didn't take one of the hang-on-the-door pocket thingies and had plenty of storage space anyway.

Sunblock, light jacket for evenings, and extra camera batteries (more than you think you'll need unless you use rechargeables).

Copies of confirmations and other documents you may need.

Drink bottle if you're going to take soda from the beverage station with you into the theaters (or anywhere else).

Most importantly, don't forget meds and money (and your passport :thumbsup2). But especially money. When you think you have enough money...you probably don't!.

And that's just off the top of my head. I really need to make myself a list and take a closer look at the last trip. ::yes:: I'm sure I've forgotten something vitally important....

I just did a little checking and it seems as if we are GTY category 09D, which would apparently put us on Deck 1. Since we are used to in an inside cabin on other cruise lines I think this is going to seem very deluxe. Also, if I fall down the stairs after the pub crawl I will at least be heading in the right direction.

Does anyone have an opinion on the likelihood of being "upgraded" to (09C, 09B, or 09A), and if so, is there any real benefit to being on the higher decks?

We always take the stairs in an effort to gain less weight while cruising, so I think Deck 1 will give us the added benefit of more exercise.

Starting to get pretty excited about this cruise (even though I have two others to take first).

We just returned from the EBTA and it seems like loads of people were getting the "pixie dust" upgrade.

As far as the higher vs. lower deck...I've only heard people mention that they feel the lower decks sway less than the higher ones. :confused3 I've only been on 2 Disney Cruises and was on 7 both times.

i hope they stock up for us lot - imagine the mutiny if we run out of booze midway......

sorry if you guys dont agree with this - but i really dont want to end up with designated days for delivery. i'm more of the spontaneous FE person, i'll do it when i feel like walking round the whole ship. i think its also kinda unfair for those who get assigned to deliver on a port day as they've gotta take time out of an already short day to deliver.
i'm all up for freestyle FEs ;)

If there is anything else we need to talk about, please make suggestions. I'll definitely work the lists so that there are approximately the same number of cabins/people and adult to child ratios on each.

If anyone would prefer to PM your ideas (or concerns), please feel free. I think we can all agree that few of us have unlimited resources - or luggage space - so please be frank about this. I wouldn't want anyone to feel that they can't participate because of the numbers involved.

Fine with me if you split the list.

We would like to participate in more than one list.

Are we making some sort of splitup in the groups so that fx one half of the group will deliver their gifts the first week and the other the second week?
I'm asking because on our last cruise we got all of our gifts the first couple of days, and my son was very unhappy with returing to a empty FE the last 4 days. (sorry if the question has already been asked. I been away on holiday, so I'm back on page 237 in thread 3)

I can't bare the thought of them running out of alcohol!!!! :scared1:

I agree about the FE's and would prefer not to have a specific day. Maybe a compromise would be to divide the group in half, then some deliver in the first week & then half in the second week. At least that way it won't all be given out in the first few days.

Hi there fellow cruisers! My dad and I just returned from the WBTA and had so much fun we decided to book the EBTA too! Have to get all those hours back right? :thumbsup2

Hi Monique and Dad and welcome aboard ... we are Sarah and Tony from Wales and this is our second WBTA :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have to agree with Karen. I am very much a spontaneous FE delivery person too .... we like to do it at a time when we have nothing else planned, and as we don't know the events and times etc before we go, it would be impossible to plan ahead for when we will have a quiet time.

Perhaps a compromise would be for those who want specific days to organise that among themselves, while those who prefer to be spontanoeus can just deliver when they feel the need.

Just an idea?

Hi,
We have a VGT stateroom booked. So we don't know which one. It is a room with verandah. If we get a stateroomtype that is not on the list, then you can put me on the list.
But I don't know when I know when that is? Does anyone have an idea??
I heard from a friend that was on the EBTA that she had an upgrade from a standard insight room to a deluxe oceanview.

I agree with you. I do this for the first time and I din't have decided how many gifts I do. Maybe I do more than one, it depend on what I find to give and how much space it cost in my luggage. And then I would decide for myself when I deliver them.

hello!

I will be visiting DLRP in August (20-21) are there any "Passport Annuel" who will be there at the same time and looking to sponser? I know there is a thread for this, but figured I would ask people I know before people I don't. :thumbsup2

Dan :rolleyes1
