I didn't know that, I thought it was just a steep(ish) uneven path that you walked down from the drop off to the base of the baths.

This report below is a good description of what we have heard in the past regarding the trail... that if we wanted to go up to the bus dropoff, it was a steep, rocky climb. The catamaran company we used that time (Patouche) had a dinghy to help people back and forth, but they tried to drop us off with the current so that we floated to snorkel, and ended up at the beach at the base of the rocks. Did the path with our guide, then swam back (or had dinghy come pick us up). They told us lots of accidents happen - people slipping on a rock, twisting an ankle, etc., especially if a rock is slippery.

The base has some cool things that you climb up/down/through, and even some sort of slide that I recall (rock slide - natural). I look forward to returning when the kiddos are bigger! Heck, I was too lazy to chase mine through all the ropes and tunnels at Bay of Play at Sea World yesterday :rotfl2: Just watched from the comfort of the shade with the little one :thumbsup2

I like that mode of thinking!! :)

No reply yet from them... but some good pics on this page of White Bay with boats tied to moorings (and back of large catamaran) and also of this pic at the doc with the ladders flipped upwards. They just need a pic of a super good looking person at the top who is helping us tipsy people back onto the boat with rum punch in hand for the sail back! ;)

:rotfl::rotfl:Well I just hope he’s a good looking strong man, because I’m no lightweight!!!. But a naive question if we have to jump off the boat and swim for it…. Can we get towels at the bay, or if we take them from the ship it will be fun trying to keep them dry

Looking at the pictures I can't wait.... looks lovely even if I have to make an undignified entrance and exit:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Trust me, I hear ya!!

I did ask about dry bag... such as transporting goods to the beach (cameras, etc). I know at least at the USVI there are laws on how close to get to beach, reefs, etc --- we had to go over those the day we rented the dinghy and went beach hopping on St John --- so I think the BVI may be similar. But I'm still thinking they get pretty dang close.

Thanks for the link. Interesting. :thumbsup2

I love Seaworld, which one did you go to? I hope you had a fun day with the girls. :)

No prob! Plus, with the rocks, there is little shade, so you are walking in the heat. I'm one who would rather be on my rear with a fruity beverage. :thumbsup2

We went to the one in San Antonio. Of the three, it's the smallest, but they gave a pass for certified teachers to get in free through the end of the year if we activated it by end of June, so we took advantage of it. Baby is free, and I just had to pay for my 4 year old. Still hot as heck though. When I got back in my car, the thermometer showed 110F. Needless to say, they slept well last night and are still recovering today as they BOTH are napping. :thumbsup2

Hello All,

When booking our shore excursions, I discovered that DCL is no longer offering thier 2 tank dive excursion on Tortola. I have contacted a shop on Tortola that would be willing to do a two tank dive for us if we have 6 or more people. The cost is $115.00 per person for the 2 tank 2 site dive and renting all gear is $10.00 per person. You must be certified to go on this excursion. Please PM me an let me know if you are interested in this excursion.

Thanks,

Are you feeling pretty?

"Bernardo's girlfriend Anita (Rita Moreno) and her friends sing the praises of life in "America." Like most of the film's other principals however, Moreno danced and acted but didn't do all her own singing. Her vocals for "A Boy Like That" were dubbed in post-production by Betty Wand because the song was too low for Moreno's range.

Co-starring as the ill-fated lovers, Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer sing "Tonight" on her balcony -- though their vocals were also dubbed in post-production. Wood's voice was supplied by veteran Hollywood vocalist Marni Nixon, while Jimmy Bryant did the singing for Beymer. Also silenced with another voice was Russ Tamblyn whose lyrics in "The Jets Song" were supplied by Tucker Smith. Of the five principal cast members, only George Chakiris did all his own singing."

"I feel pretty, oh so pretty...." :rolleyes1 Trust me, if you could hear me singing this out loud, you'd all be hoping for a voice-over artist! (OK, maybe it's not that bad, but I could always get my DD's attention by threatening to sing in front of her friends :lmao:...one more way to embarrass my child...great fun!)

Hi Everyone!

We're just back from a 5-day jaunt to New Orleans for multiple family celebrations! :dance3: And, YIKES!!!! :scared1: I am about 45 pages behind in reading....gonna take a couple of days to catch up.

Now that we are back in town I can start to focus on this cruise. Woohoo! :cheer2: AND I need to get serious with this diet!!! :guilty:

So, did you have a yummy, puffy beignet for me? Or two, or three...;)

Tony has been researching and planning our trip to London pre cruise. So excited. He splurged and signed us up for the evening private tour at Buckingham Palace (our 30th anniversary)!

Our two weeks in Hawaii house sitting are coming to an end. I'm ready to go home as I miss my dogs and my boys!!

Aloha

How lovely that sounds. Hope you enjoyed Hawaii, but it is always nice to return home, isn't it? (unless it's after a 14-day DCL vacay :guilty:)

Planning continues....never seems to end! Just got trip ins. for DM/DN and arranged air for DD to come from TX to PA (with a weekend in Atlanta in between), so we can all leave from Newark together. Two more things checked off the list....:thumbsup2

Attention Madeira Daniel Taxi Cruisers

Good news on shopping in Madeira. I heard back from Eusébia as follows:

Yes, your group can count on visiting a supermarket, it's just a question of letting the drivers know. Madeira has several large supermarkets around the island: Pingo Doce, Continente, Sá - the drivers will, probably, choose the one they feel to be more appropriate in terms of parking.

So, did you have a yummy, puffy beignet for me? Or two, or three...;)

Yes, I had several beignets (at least 3 for you!) :) - too many to mention. :lmao::lmao: Along with several FABs, again too many to mention... :dance3: In fact, as I noted in the previous post, that is part of why I need to get Serious with my Diet!!!! :scared1:

I have just had a lovely Afternoon Tea at Fortnum & Masons today it was fab. Here is a link.... http://www.fortnumandmason.com/stjames-restaurant.aspx

There is also the obvious choice of Tea at The Ritz - http://www.theritzlondon.com/tea/ but Tea at the Savoy is supposedly nicer (according to my sister). http://www.savoy-experiences.com/thesavoy/afternoontea/

I am sure you will enjoy any of them, it's a very lovely way to spend a few hours.

Wow you beat me to it, all the places I was going to suggest!!!!

Even if you don't decided on tea at Fortnum and Masons be sure to pop in for a look round such a lovely traditional store!!!

F&M is Quintessentially London, in fact I think all trips to London should include a stop here, And every store and have red carpets, crystal chandeliers and sales assistants in tailcoats

So, THAT'S why I can't lose a pound! Don't worry, the calories magically travelled to my thighs, so yours are safe. All I have to do is think of sweets and I gain weight :confused3. Hope you had a good time (sounds like it!).

My diet's fine, but I just can't get serious about exercise, so the pounds stay put. Why does everybody else get the good metabolisms?...whine, whine...;)...:goodvibes....oh, poor me :lmao:

come on, you cant say that without sharing with the rest of the class :rotfl::rotfl:;)

Two of our tablemates were selected to be Barry White and Donna Summers....it was hilarious! They did a really good job (especially after a few drinks! :lmao:)! I would say I would bring the pics as blackmail......but it wouldn't phase Roger at all! His wife, Peggy, can attest to that! :rotfl2:

Here's one photo of my hubby, aka Barry White, in Rockin' Bar D!
He is virtually un-embarrassable!!! :lmao::lmao:

Question about transfers once we arrive back in Port Canaveral:

We have port --> airport transfers booked when we return. The ship docks at 7:30 and we don't have a flight until 4:45pm!

Obviously we don't want to go to the airport at 8am. Do we have any options to go to, say, Downtown Disney or something and then take DCL transportation to the airport from there instead?

I would love to be included in the supermarket run, who do I need to let know? I must be weird, but I love shopping at supermarkets in Europe, you just never know what you will find.

ah so its your fault if it rains then!! :rotfl:

its not quite the same as the smuckers one but they do something similar over here if you want me to send you one?

scary thing is, someone has probably tried to do that in the past. i would not be surprised at all......

i remember that from last year. can you remember if the prices were reasonable or not?

there'll be gangs of karens roaming the ships. if we come across your gang it'll be like west side story!

I remember the prices being very reasonable! Our plan this year if we can confirm it is still open.

So I've been trolling Ebay looking for Fish Extenders, trying to decide if I just want to get a cheap one or a custom one. I'm at my mom's today and she opens her closet door and there is a lime green, 4 pocket, Mickey Mouse FE hanging on the inside!! I screamed "FISH EXTENDER!!" and she jumped back and almost had a heart attack! "What the ++++ are you talking about?" my mom says.:lmao:

So of course, I explained what an FE is. Turns out that she bought it at a garage sale a couple years ago for my kids, and according to her I tried to talk her out of it. So now we'll just get something to write our names on it and we are good to go!

Moving down my checklist: cruise - booked and paid for; airline tix - booked and paid for; rental car for return drive home - booked; hotel in BCN - booked, partially with points :woohoo:; lanyards and pins -done; transport from hotel to port - done; PM'd Pat about FE's - done

Still to do: all excursions; online check in 12:01am June 27; Dis T shirt; sign up for mojito and mixology and secret mickey; pack, fly to Barcelona and CRUISE......:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

me and gary would be interested, but would actually prefer to do only one dive as we'd still like to see some of the island too. anybody interested in just one?

I'm off to bed. I MC'd the retirement ceremony for the Colonel who was Dennis' boss's boss today. I also did the change of command ceremony for them on Monday. Twice in one week I had to wear "grown up" clothes - dress, heels, and (ugh!) hose. And Spanx, of course. Then I had to do a quick change and get to the commissary to work.

Can't say I don't lead an interesting life. In the afternoon I'm introducing a two-star General to a crowd of people and two hours later I'm bagging groceries. :rotfl: Funny old world, isn't it?
