Yes, you can prepay the gratuities and yes, use the usual number. I usually do this about a week before we leave.

Thanks Noel. :thumbsup2

That was me!! Unfortunately if you booked using MEO you can't as your booking is in £s. DCL system can't do it.

I just bought some dollars and put them past instead

Ahhhh...... I really couldn't remember if it had even been mentioned, having one of those days yesterday!

Nevermind I will just add the extra $'s to my Fairfx card instead. :thumbsup2

oh claire so sorry to hear your news:hug:

im sure you were hoping for a less stressful month after all you been through so far this year :sad2:

Thanks Sarah. :)

Since we are waiting until port for an upgrade, if we get one who do we need to tell on the boards regards to our changes?

Sorry to hear about you dog..hope everything turns out ok.

Thanks. I was wondering about this too.

Claire- Hope everything works out for your fur baby

Thanks.

claire, hope your dog feels better soon, i hate it when cerby has to go in for any vet stuff, i end up worrying about him all day until i get home.

Thanks. I hate it when he is at the vets all day, to make matters worse my baby girl (Bailey) pines for him too....she is like a lost little soul when her big brother isn't around.

On our last cruise, we had one centrally located room designated as the message center. Anyone who changed rooms was supposed to go there on the first day and leave a message on the whiteboard on the door, and the rest of the group made sure to go by and check it before delivering FE gifts. As it turned out, no one changed rooms, but it was useful for any other messages (impromptu meets, etc.). I would be happy to volunteer our door for that (our room is easy to find), but one on Deck 6 would probably be more convenient for the majority of the group.

This sounds like a good solution. :thumbsup2

As there are so many of us in one area in Deck 6 forward shall we do it there?

If so, I have a small white board that I was going to put on my door anyway so we could just write any room changes on my room? I'm in 6507.

What do you think?

Noel your new cabin sounds lovely :thumbsup2

Am I going crazy or do I recall someone recently saying you can pre pay your gratuities? If so, do I just call DCL on the usual number?

We were told we could pre pay our gratuities :confused3 which we thought typical as DCL won't let us buy any gifts or amenities but they'll allow us to prepay the gratuities....we didn't and have just loaded our FairFX card with them anyway.

great news, im sure i pm'd before but could you also add my dh brian to the list, he scared in case he misses anything:rolleyes:
You did but I will check to see if your DH is on the list, if not I will add him.

Think that's a great idea Claire.

Not exactly sure Lauren :) It is where you get to Mix your own cocktails I believe. Last years WBTA's would be better answering that one.
If my memory serves me correctly - Sarah took part in last years?

Yes you do get tp mix your own cocktails, you get provided with all the ingredients and you make about 4 drinks .... the only you don't make yourself is the pina colada as they don't have enough blenders to go round ....but it was the best pina colada I have ever tasted.

I just got back from the vets with my two fur babies. When will I learn that it is far less stressful to take them one at a time! :rolleyes1

Anyway my baby boy needs to have two lumps (and a possible third) removed and biopsied on Tuesday along with some chest x rays....so if you've got any spare pixie dust I could use it by the bucket load on Tuesday. :guilty: It was this time last year he had a cancerous tumour removed from his ear, they had to take pretty much all of his inner ear away with it. I don't think I can face anything like that again, it broke my heart to see him crying out in so much pain. :sad1:

Oh no .. so sorry to hear this. You must be beside yourselves with worry. I hope the procedure goes well, that your lovely dog doesn't need any more surgery and that he makes a quick and full recovery. Sending bucketloads of pixie dust and a ton of :hug::hug::hug:

PIF

Just made the final payment. I moved us to 7034 and saved over $800. No reason for us to have the extra 36 square feet as long as we have a veranda!
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We did this on our last cruise too. It worked really well, We were all given magnetic whiteboards as one of our FE gifts too and that was really useful. We could all write messages on each others for get-togethers etc.
I am happy to volunteer but maybe one nearer the elevator lobby would be better to save legs .. we are almost as far forward as you can get !!!

The EBTA sets sail today. I hope they have a good trip and calm weather. One more step closer to OUR cruise!!!:dance3:

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: That has just put up my anxiety levels as I think of all I have to do.:scared1::scared1::scared1:

I know Marilyn....how exciting for the EBTA cruisers.

I am just waiting for DCL to open as I've managed to snag a secret verandah room, I have it on hold and am waiting to change everything over. So another sideways cabin will be available soon.

Is anyone else having trouble with the DIS not loading properly this morning?

Well that's all changed over...we're now in 6134 :)

Deck 6 organising point sounds good, I think a good chunk of the FE people are up there anyway. Would it be worth someone printing off a few FE lists and keeping them in a designated fish extender because from previous experience, there's normally at least one person who forgets the printout!

Yay for the secret verandah! Did it cost you a lot to upgrade or did you get a good deal?

Did I read somewhere else on the board that prior to the trip you can call DCL and have an OBC put onto your account using the Disney Visa and receive the 6 months 0% interest?

I believe I saw that as long as you call PRIOR to the trip, it would be charged as a reservation charge and Chase would code it as eligible for 0% - any charges made with the Visa on board would be coded at the usual interest rate.

No probs. :thumbsup2
Am I going crazy or do I recall someone recently saying you can pre pay your gratuities? If so, do I just call DCL on the usual number?

Yes, you can give yourself an OBC to cover any expenses, not just tips. The last time I read the fine print for 0% interest on Disney VISA, it wa for charges over $101 - so plan accordingly when gigging yourself. Do as Noel said, about a week in advance; I think they cut off 3 days before the cruise begins. Just Say you would like to give a gift to cruiser x - they wil ask what message goes with the gift, even when it's to yourself - this will be on the gift notification waiting for you in your cabin when you arrive, along with any OBC notes from TAs or Disney VISA.

I am taking notes to see if anyone is feeding book info too early. ; )

Really? They didn't say anything about that when I booked, and it wasn't on my invoice. I know we didn't have to pay ahead on the military rate on our Oct cruise last year.

Ooops. Just did the MTO rate and you are correct. Must just be interline rates. It was automatic and included per person.

I think we just take over the forward deck 6 elevator bank area... :rotfl2:

That's what I thought as well! There are several other things we'd be happy to pre-pay along with the gratuities...

sorry to hear about your fur baby, hope everything goes well on tuesday,

Ditto! Those fur babies are definitely our "children" as well!

The EBTA sets sail today. I hope they have a good trip and calm weather. One more step closer to OUR cruise!!!:dance3:

Ditto! And didn't their's sell out? And didn't several get called for upgrades?

Well that's all changed over...we're now in 6134 :)

Congrats! :thumbsup2

And a side note... please keep Curt in your prayers. His grandfather passed away unexpectedly yesterday. I am trying to coordinate hotels for those of us driving in from out of state.

Just used the MEO discount and save £500 on the 'normal' booking. Also managed to get the $25 OBC with the code as it showed on the new reservation not the old one.

We were going to wait till we got to the port to enquire about upgrading, but thought we might as well do it now so that we know we have a verandah.

Mandy, I am so sorry to hear of Curt's loss.

Your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

So, looks like I won the prize for the most PIF reminders, but who wins for changing cabins the most often?;) That isn't me as we are still in the one we booked last September!!

We've changed 4 times, this is the last change one, honestly

Wow .. another room change, Michelle you are a tweaker !! Congrats on the secret verandah !!

Deck 6 organising point sounds good, I think a good chunk of the FE people are up there anyway. Would it be worth someone printing off a few FE lists and keeping them in a designated fish extender because from previous experience, there's normally at least one person who forgets the printout!

That will be me !!

Is it rude to ask how much more it was than the 11B ? I am hoping for a port upgrade, but if a good price comes along we may be tempted.
