Hi Liz! :welcome:My DH and I were also on last year's EBTA (our first Disney cruise) and immediately booked this year's WBTA. Won't it be nice to gain time instead of losing it as we sail?!!!! :woohoo:That was exhausting!

I was just thinking about that tiring time change:scared1: I dozed off towards the end of the week sitting in chair just outside the elevators on the 9th forward deck. I awoke startled to see Donald staring at me.......:rotfl2:

Thanks everybody for the replies!! I have certainly lost most of my anxiety about going alone. I think I would fit right in! I could care less if I wasn't with my "Age" group... Age is just a number after all!
I am about 96% confident that I will be on this cruise. Just keeping my fingers crossed for a price break by July.
For now, I'll be happy getting to know you all! My name is Josh and I'm from Rhode Island in the states. I've been asking a few friends about what to do in Barcelona. I think I would want to take the Red Eye flight on thursday/friday so I can spend a full day and night in the city. I really want to see some Flamenco and eat some Tapas!!

You will have a great time! Go for it we as we get older we regret the things that we did not do much more than the stupid things that we did do.

I find it amazing how many people did the EBTA and are now booked for the WBTA. (We are part of that group) How many of you are doing Hawaii as well? We fell in love with the long cruises with a lot of sea days. We see it as wanting to stay at a great resort with a lot to do. Why bother getting off the ship when ther is so much to enjoy? This will be our 2nd Disney cruise and Hawaii will be our third. Hard to believe our shortest will be 2 full weeks. It will be hard to do a week on the Dream someday.

John and I chose to do the MV on the Fantasy instead of Hawaii as we have been to Hawaii many times. The timing does not work for us to do both with John still working. I am sure you guys will have a fabulous time.

That being said, if are any single women who are looking for a roommate on the Hawaii cruise, let me know!!

Aloha for us a year from now. We too do the longer cruises. Did b2b EBTA and Med last year. It was 25 days on the ship. Had I not gotten the bad cough in Tunisia, it would have been better. This time coming home makes me :):)

I've been hard at work on this algebra problem

Topsiders x 12* + {Lumiere+
Parrot Cay+
Animators Palate}
x (10) + (2xPalo)
[Mickey bars x 2]+[room service]
X <4 goofy galley>
<4 Pluto dog house>
(+cove cafe )\drink of the day
X several = ??????
:teacher:

Answers on a postcard please:upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow

Actually now I look at it again I think it's more of an equation ;)

SW

Clearly i'm in a silly mood tonight

The answer is which meals are you skipping? This sounds like you are on a diet. :lmao: This is a 14-night cruise, isn't it?

...I really want to see some Flamenco and eat some Tapas!!

Last year in Cadiz DCL brought on a dance troupe to perform the evening's entertainment. They sort of over did it with the castanets. During the adult cabaret, the comedian did his imitation of the dance show by holding an aspirin bottle over the microphone and shaking - identical sound and quite funny. I hope the Magic will continue to have the adult shows late night; I hear they moved them to 7:45pm on the Dream.

...FYI: the adult cabaret is usually held at 10:15 or 10:45 in Rockin' Bar D on Deck 3. Quite often it will showcase the same comedian/magician/performer that presents a family show in the large Walt Disney Theatre. The material is usually still G-to-PG rated but not aimed at kids.

There are also games: scavenger hunt (but no leaving the room), Match Your Mate (very much like the Newlywed Game), shows by Cast Members...

What makes all this more fun is sitting in a section with new (and old) DIS friends.

Of course, there is no cover charge/entrance fee for this. You can order a drink or not and you won't get attitude from the waiters.

Hi everyone! I can't believe this cruise is only 5 months away! I'm super excited, the only thing that still worries me is the airfare...I'm a little afraid to commit that much money so far out...I look every day, the cheapest thing is Pakistan international airlines, which makes me a little leary...but British Airways is now coming up only $600 from Chicago so that's good I think? I've never flown internationally before except to Mexico.

I did book my hotel for Barcelona yesterday, I'm staying at the Praktik Rambala for two nights before the cruise.

I have so much planning to do but I can't wait!!

will that get you to Barcelona? I really like British Airways and that is a good price for summer. We paid nearly $900 RT for Boston to London Oct 2010. I was seeing over $1K for one-way on BA for this trip.

It will get you to Barcelona from O'hare with a stop in London. It's not on the BA site though...I found it on kayak through airfare.com. It includes all the taxes and everything...i'm thinking about booking it. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet!

DIY must be in the air, have been painting the smallest room in the house today..... indoors of what looked like one of the best days of the year so far !!

Yes I thought that too, you watch as soon as we finish decorating the sun will disappear and that will be our "summer" over. :lmao:

Welcome aboard Josh......(fingers crossed) ;)

We are mid 30's but as you say age is just a number. We both act like 8 year olds sometimes, well most of the time.

A few of us are meeting up at the Hard Rock Cafe the evening before the cruise, so we would love to see you there. :thumbsup2

On the last WBTA we had the Spanish dancing troupe and they were really good. Although like you say a LOT of castanets !! Most of our adult cabaret shows with guest performers such as comedian, magician etc took place after second seating dinner in the Walt Disney Theatre, not Rockin Bar D.

I did book my hotel for Barcelona yesterday, I'm staying at the Praktik Rambala for two nights before the cruise.

We stayed in Praktik Rambla last year .. it is a beautiful hotel.

Yes thanks we managed to get lots done today, all the undercoats on walls, ceiling, woodwork etc is done so now the next part is to start on the colour and the dreaded glossing! But that will have to wait until next weekend. :thumbsup2

I hope you enjoyed sitting in the sun enough for both of us as i've hardly been out in it. :headache: I hope to make up for it tomorrow though....you watch it will pour down now. :lmao:

It's looking a bit dull here today, but it might be lovely with you.

I was a bit silly yesterday and didn't have any sunscreen on, so went to bed with a hot face last night with white sunglasses on :lmao: that'll teach me that the Scottish sunny days can burn you to

Gosh you are really busy with the DIY, I hate glossing it always gives me a headache.

All our work is needed outside. The house is 3 years old now, so all the windows need a fresh coat of woodstain, that'll be our job every dry weekend for the foreseeable future :thumbsup2

Hi all

I just saw this post on our med cruise thread and thought it might interest some of you spending time in Barcelona pre-cruise

For any of the iphone users out there. The HOHO bus in Barcelona now has a free app - Bus Turistic.

I've had the server time out on me too today and it was really slow yesterday. Obviously us DISers just talk way too much :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Pleased it's not just me Lorraine, no offence ;)

AMEN to that! DO IT!

Noel, have you posted on the Hawaii thread? I know there is one single female, at least.

For that price, I'd JUMP on it!

Happy Day, ALL!

:rotfl2: Love the white sunglasses look, i've had that many a time! How is your face feeling? I hope it doesn't hurt, I hate sunburn. :headache:

Glossing gives me a headache too....i'm hoping as I have helped out so much already that Lee might let me off & do it himself. :rolleyes1

It is lovely and sunny here today. :goodvibes Not that i've had time to sit and enjoy it yet as i've been out & about running erands.

There is so much to see in Barcelona. We toured 2 days non-stop last year and feel we saw most of what we wanted to see. You can take the hop-on, hop-off bus and get off where you want to tour and then get back on to your next place of interest. Las Ramblas area is where we spent a good part of one day. The market there is a must to see......eat lunch and just explore. It would definitely be worth your while to have at least one day to try and see some of the sights!

:welcome: to the happiest cruise to cross the Atlantic! :goodvibes

Has anyone flown Easyjet and can provide any tips? All I know is that they seem pretty restrictive with luggage and I have to pay extra since I don't have the VISA debit card.

I am flying into Paris on Sept 4 to spend a few days there before flying over to Barcelona. My options for airlines are Easyjet, Vueling and Ryanair but I think Easyjet is the most convenient as it leaves out of Charles De Gaulle airport.

Hi all!

We are a little late to the meet, but we just booked this cruise today!!! I am SO SO SO excited! We went on the Eastbound TA last year and it was one of my favorite vacations ever, so my husband said we'd do it again.....fast forward to yesterday when we found out that there are no European itineraries planned for DCL in 2012 so effectively there would be no TA's for us to go on......sooooo we just had to book this one to do it again!!!!!!!

Can't wait to get to know you all better. Last year's TA was our first disney cruise experience and it was wonderful :goodvibes

I am Liz and my husband is Joe.

:welcome: We are Leanne, DH Ken and DD Morgan (8). This is our fist ever cruise and we're very excited!

Sunny here today too ! So lovely, sitting in the conservatory (as I prefur a little shade) with the iPad surfing the net.

I'm hoping it lasts till the weekend as i'm off to Paris on Thursday for 3 days, and I hoping to be able to have a picnic beside the Eiffel Tower.

SW

I totally agree, the light show on the tower is magical " Disney quality" dare I say it, I never understand how folks can say i the tower is ugly??? to me it looks so elegant, especially at night, but then I am besotted with the city

SW

We're totally jealous :upsidedow but how can anyone say the Tower is ugly? We just love to sit in the park and let DD play in the park. It's the most relaxing thing I know of. What a great gift to your sister! Have a great time!

I was just thinking about that tiring time change:scared1: I dozed off towards the end of the week sitting in chair just outside the elevators on the 9th forward deck. I awoke startled to see Donald staring at me.......:rotfl2:

OMG, I think I would have jumped out of my skin!! :scared1:

You guys are amazing with your posts. One of our American friends offered to look after DD for the weekend as a birthday gift to me, so had a nice quiet, relaxing weekend. However, it's taken me almost all afternoon to catch up!:cheer2:
