Birkner: Cracker Barrels are great; Southern-style food, generous portions at reasonable prices. Do you have them in CA? I grew up with CB in the South, then they followed me up North eventually. You can eat as healthfully as you choose (or not!;)).

Tomatoes..."sticks"....:goodvibes...too cute!

No Cracker Barrels here as far as I know. Actually tomatoes have a core which I guess he interpreted as a "stick"

Congrats to those of you that booked Hawaii.

Thank you so much, I was planning to just do a repeat of last years gifts again, but clearly I like to make my life as difficult as possible :lmao:, as I came up with a new idea that i'm trying to make work.

Truth is I LOVE crafting so I don't need any excuse to make new stuff, here's hoping it works:thumbsup2
SW

Ooooh it's exciting, I love find little gifts in my FE. :cool1:

Hi everybody!
I thought I'd say hello because I'm seriously considering booking a cabin for myself for this trip if the price comes down like the may trip did. I'm graduating from college this semester, finishing student teaching and might just become addicted to cruising after I go on NCL in may... I'm a huge disney fanatic (hopefully i'll be working in WDW within the year) and can't imagine a better experience than going to on my first DCL Europe to FL transatlantic trip! I'd be doing this on my own as a solo travel. I've read some of the solo traveler experiences, but there doesn't seem to be many 22 year old males reviewing their solo experience... can't help enjoying the inner child! Thoughts? Is this something I would be welcomed into? This forum seems to be really nice, i have to say! Any advice?

 I am sure you will be fine, are you cruising on your own in May? That should give you more of an idea if you'll enjoy it.....as others have said we are all a friendly bunch so if you do decide to join us then add your details to the DIS dining group (details on the first page of this thread) so we are all seated in the same area for dining each night. :)

Well, after all the anticipation, I didn't even get to eat at Cheesecake Factory in Boston ... after a 5 hr. trip, my co-worker didn't want to drive another 15 min. in rush hr. traffic, so we settled on a Cracker Barrel next to our hotel. And I sooo had my sights on a piece of low-carb :yay:cheesecake. As for calories, you know the restaurant is not figure-friendly when they advertise their "weight management" menu items as less than 590 calories :crazy2: apiece (per their website).

My Larry won't eat raw tomatoes (he has no idea why, really ), but he loves stewed tomatoes, tomato sauces and soup, and salsa (he'll even eat fresh salsas/pico de gallo, but it took him years to adapt to that). And he's a very open, adventurous eater. Go figure :confused3.

It's a shame you missed out on the CF hopefully you'll get to try it another time.

Both me & my DH are exactly the same as your DH is with tomatoes, won't eat them raw but will eat them in all other forms. :confused3

I really can't eat them in any form ... horrible scary things !! I can just about tolerate tomato puree in dishes such as chili or bolognaise, but any visible tomato and I am done. My biggest nightmare is tomato juice, when I worked bars on ships I used to dread people asking for a bloody mary ... it was always first thing of a morning and it used to make me heave putting it together :sick::sick::sick:

Good thing DH likes it as if any arrive on my plate as a garnish they immediately leap over onto his plate !!

i sure did :rotfl:, i treated myself for my 40th but didnt know my dh had bought it for me too, but he doesnt know how girls minds work and he bought my size now where as i bought the size below:rotfl2:

i dont want to hear any humming of da da da daaa :rotfl2:

i am so jealous of you guys:cloud9:, but congratulations, i will just have to live this one through your trip reports i hope you do!!

hawaii as always been my dream destination since watching fantasy island as a little girl, that opening scene of Kauai and the people getting the leis and everyone was oh so beautiful ahhhhhhhhhh

How fantastic getting two :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see it :)

:welcome: Hi there, we are Mary and Stevie from Scotland. This will be our 9th Disney cruise. I would second the comments regarding joining in linked dining and also participating in the various activities onboard. DH and I didn't always join in everything together, so you won't feel out of place being a single person in the group, it's generally the norm on a long cruise :welcome:

Congrats to those of you that booked Hawaii.

Fantastic everyone on booking Hawaii, wish it was me :) Again, like Sarah, I will have to dream about it reading all your fantastic trip reports. I hope they may it a regular thing or do it again in a couple of years so that we can go :cool1:

Gosh we are going to be on a table on non-tomato eaters :rotfl2: i can't eat them fresh either, but they can be hot in food and I love tomato ketchup. If there is ever any salad garnish on our plates, I pinch DHs cucumber and he takes my tomato.... sorted :lmao:

Sounds like a great cruise Sue. Really pleased your dress fits too, you are having better luck than I am ..... or maybe you just accept what size you really are :rotfl2::rotfl2: I just won another one .... getting a bit addictive now and I still need formal and semi formal.

You are doing really well with your purchases :thumbsup2 good luck bidding for the remaining ones :cool1:

I only want to do Palo Brunch....hope I manage to get at least one day out of the 14.

Ewwww I can imagine that making you heave, that is one thing i've not tried and have no intention of either.......

Ours always end up piled high on a side plate. :lmao:

I hope we all manage to get our Palo ressies. :wizard:

Can you only book one of each dinner, brunch, high tea online? Then any others are booked onboard?

Hi and welcome. I am sure you will be fine, and this group is a very friendly bunch. Also they usually have college lunches so you could go along and see if there are any others in a similar situation. They do singles lunches too, but not sure if that would consist mainly of older single ladies.:confused3

I only want to do Palo Brunch....hope I manage to get at least one day out of the 14.

You'll definiately get one, there was availability at Studio C on embarkation day when we went up to change our reservation. SIL couldn't get one online at the 75 day window, but there was lots of availability onboard, but she just added onto ours instead :)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: re the tomatoes

Yes, you can only book one of each online. At the 90 day window last year, there was availability for all 3 online.

Stevie and I don't want to do high tea this time on the WBTA, so that's why I am able to do a high tea with the girls if we manage to get that organised :thumbsup2

Last year in Malta decided to have the local dish which was rabbit stew, and took one look at it and pinched my DH steak:rotfl::rotfl:

I love that rabbit stew! :confused3 I've been to Malta loads of times I love it there! :lovestruc

I'm travelling with my 3 kids, so I'm classing myself as a single traveller ;) I doubt I will see much of the kids :thumbsup2 I have one stipulation and that is we all eat dinner together

I really want to try Palo and I was wondering if It would look strange if I went by myself for lunch? :scared1:

I'm soooooo jealous of all you going on the Hawaaii cruise. I would love to do this but we have exams in May plus once you add on flights it becomes way out of my price range.

I really want to try Palo and I was wondering if It would look strange if I went by myself for lunch? :scared1:

Why go by yourself when there are lots of other single ladies to go with? In my cabin there are 3 of us! We may not can put you on our ressie on line, but i'm SURe we could on board.

We have never bothered with high tea and I honestly don't think I could squeeze in another meal. If it was really spectacular then I might try it but I would have to skip lunch or dinner to do it.

:dance3::dance3::dance3: 154 days :dance3::dance3::dance3:

5 months today we will be packed and leaving for the airport :dancer:

WOW ... we will be flying 5 months tomorrow so I will probably still be working 5 months today unless I can wangle another day's annual leave. I usually like to get my hair done the day before we fly but this time I will have to do it the week prior as I wil be working Mon - Thurs if I stay in my current job.

Welcome aboard! Not sure either of the 22 yoa male cruisers.....but Disney does make magic happen! You will have a great time!

I love the High Tea, though it isn't anything as fantastic as Brunch I am always full!!! It just feels a lovely peaceful hour with great service and jolly good food. I just about love everything, so have problems not eating the things John doesn't like too!!!!! He isn't as keen as me, but he goes for me. We are not bothered about dinner there anymore, and though we love Brunch I just feel so poorly afterwards :lmao: we have stopped going.
