Finding half a maggot would be worse!

Yeah, I'm thinking any maggots, half or whole, would not be conducive to winning in a cooking contest. :scared::crazy2:

If you are looking for a Michaels, there is one at Davenport, which is a few junctions up the I4 from disney heading towards tampa, it's the junction of the 27 with the I4.... which is the Haines city turnoff.... from crossroads it will take about 10/15 mins.... there is also a JC Penny which you can see them from the I4.... it's not too big but has some nice shops which are not so much of a tourist trap. But I also like the outlet on international drive but sometimes its a night mare to park.

There is also a Michaels off of I-4 and Sand Lake Rd (b/w Sea World and Universal Studios). That might be a bit closer. Actually, it's on the way to WDW from Port Canaveral.

hope everyone has a lovely relaxing weekend, not really looking forward to sunday though not sure how i will feel being 50, but as its my birthday i have a good excuse for eating everyones easter eggs lol, susie

Oh, yeah. That one's creeping up on me, too. It's our excuse for taking the WBTA. I prefer to think of it as yet another anniversary of my 39th birthday. I really hate when people say things like, "it's only a number," (yeah, it's a really big number) or "you're only as old as you feel," (fine, then I'm 112). I like the Indiana Jones line - "It's not the years, honey, it's the miles."

Anyway, have a happy one! :thumbsup2 :bday:

:bday: Hope you have a great birthday, Susie :flower3:

Welcome to the new cruisers!! :)

I am off to see the Grand Canyon and the red rocks of Sedona, AZ, as I wrap up 2 weeks on the west coast.

We LOVE Sedona!! Such great hiking in beautiful scenery. Our oldest daughter actually SLEPT through one of those pink jeep tours. (Go figure!) Not sure you were at the Grand Canyon today, but a local murder suspect jumped state trying to avoid arrest, and the victim was abducted from a country club I just did a volunteer event at last week! So glad he was apprehended. Of course, innocent until proven guilty, but who else jumps state in the same vehicle caught on local surveillance tapes...

Happy Birthday, Susie!! :)

Happy Birthday!

Parc Guell is well worth the trip and the walk from the metro. Even with low cloud the architecture and the parc are beauitful and worth the visit

Oh, we definitely wanted to go, but it was the views we were after mainly. I think by then anyway we had decided to visit Barcelona again so knew we would have more chances. We hadn't actually decided to do the cruise again by then though.

Dennis and I are off to judge the cooking/baking contest at the "Reynolds Strawberry Festival" in Reynolds, GA (no, you've never heard of it) on Saturday. We've been judges for several contests in the area over the years, and well, let's just say it's always interesting. The toughest part is not making faces (good or bad). Most of it is pretty good. But I have to say, there was one time that I tried an item and thought, "I've just eaten sawdust."

Oooh a strawberry festival sounds wonderful .. they are my favourite fruit : )

Hope you enjoy all the sampling !!! :thumbsup2

After Banoffee Pie that is!!!;):rotfl2:

Speaking of desserts .... as we often do ... we went out for dinner last evening and our DDs had this:

While DH and I shared this :

a sampler of Eton Mess, Vanilla Cheesecake with apple compote and vanilla icecream and pecan and chocolate torte .... reminded me of the Magic with the three small desserts. As you can see I have once again postponed the start of the diet until this bank holiday weekend is behind us. I know we have another one next weekend, but as of Tuesday I am going to try and be good 80% of the time until we go to Florida in 10 weeks !!!!

Oh my goodness, I want!!!!! Then i would be really ill.:sad2: Ah well, perhaps it would be worth it!!

I think you are much like I am when dieting, but I think your two holidays will make you do something eventually!!!;) (And I am not saying you need to there, but i do know you really want to:))

I clearly don't want to enough to actually do it though do I. :sad2::sad2:

If I can adopt a successful 80% - 20% regime and increase the exercise ( or actually start exercising :rolleyes1 ). I should manage to lose something before Florida. Once I get back it will have to be a 90% - 10% regime until the cruise as I am sure I will find some lbs in Florida !!

Sarah, that's very naughty posting photos of such naughty food;)

Hope it tasted as nice as it looked?

Happy birthday Susie.

Sarah Eton mess is my absolute favourite - yum. I'm going out for dinner tonight and wohoo the place I'm going does a fabulous Eton mess

Happy Birthday Susie! :bday:

Those desserts look fabulous Sarah!!!!!!

Well rather than get on with some painting (the dreaded glossing :headache:) this weekend as we planned so far we have managed to totally avoid it. :lmao:

Yesterday we spent most of the day doing the gardening & today we spent what seemed like hours putting together a gazebo that we bought in the sales about two years ago & has sat in it's box ever since.....it looks fab though!!! I hope this lovely weather continues as I will be out there sunbathing every day. :cloud9:
