3rd times a charm! We'll make it to CC!

Oh, we HAVE been--we even did a double dip to get back one of our missed trips but we did miss it the first tow cruises--the first one was steering clear of a hurricane which hit the island--but I have to give DCL credit; we rerouted and had sunny skies and calm waters throughout.

Celebrating single digits! 9 more days until we leave. We are driving a few hours next Thursday night then the major drive on Friday. I can feel the tropical sunshine peaking through the clouds.

9 for me tip just got done walking 2 and half miles.....gunna try to do the castaway cay 5k with my sister and brother in law and dad. We will see if we do it after eating all the yummy food

Well, it's official....Tropical Storm Isaac is on track to reach the Caribbean by this weekend (hopefully it doesn't get upgraded to a hurricane). In the meantime I have come up with a "Plan B" and a "Plan C"

Plan B - switch flights to arrive earlier in the week (Monday or Tuesday) IF the airlines allow cost free changes due to the storm

Plan C - Involves driving from NJ on Sunday or Monday and staying over at Hilton Head for a day or 2 and then driving the rest of the way to WDW.

There's just NO WAY this vacation is getting de-railed! I've planned and saved and I just want to give this gift to my mom for her 60th birthday! She's just too good of a mom, and I almost lost her when she had a tumor on her HEART a few years back. She had to go through a lot. And, I want to make this the BEST birthday for her. So, take THAT mother nature!

Current forecast has the storm starting to wind down by Sunday, August 26th ... if it just doesn't get "stuck" somewhere we should be fine. There's another depression that just left the coast of Africa, but early indicators are showing it going north of the Caribbean. (Of course, those of us that live on the East Coast may still have to worry about it - but not till we get back home!!)

I'm just packing extra dramamine/bonine and telling myself to be flexible....(not much I can do about it after all.....)

Looking forward to seeing everyone on deck at our meet and greet!!

That's positive news! Everything I've seen has it going up Florida and disrupting the Republican national convention or whatever in Tampa. I lived in Central Florida (Celebration) for 8 years... The local weather meteorologists live to play this stuff up. During Hurricane Charley one weatherman told us to " hold onto our loved ones tonight, because we may not see tomorrow" ..... I'm not kidding, they took it that far. I'm sure a million things could change between now and then, but I'm like everyone who's sailing on the 1st....I'm looking forward to this cruise sooo much, I just pray everyone gets there safe, and we all have a great time!
