for organizing the FE's and for keeping us updated. I agree and would not mind if you capped it at 30 and/or moved the date up and closed it earlier. We need to get started on our FE gifts and would like to have a solid number to work with when we go out to purchase what we will need to make them. JMHO..

Hi everyone -

Just an update....at this point we are up to 24 cabins (one family has two cabins, so I counted that as one). There are 52 adults and 30 kids.

Given that we have received a new family just about everyday, if not more, I think we seriously should consider closing this list earlier (before the orginal July 15th cutoff) or caping it at a certain number (30 Maybe?). Any latecomers could always start their own new thread.

Last year when we sailed the Dream, people signed up everyday until our cut off in the last 6 weeks before our sailing. We had 24 cabins in total and let me tell you, it was a lot of gifts...making, traveling with and then bringing them back home!

I do feel bad if we have to turn people away, but I think at some point we are going to have to. It's growing so big, so fast!.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I will update the list with cabin changes and GTY assignments up until Aug. 28th, before we leave. If anything changes between the 29th & when we board, I would:
1. post on here, so people can see and update their list
2. you can reply to all on the email list and let them know
3. send a text msg from your wave phone once on board
4. put a sticky note on above your old cabin number with your new number.

With our latest additions (welcome, Heather!), I think we are around 25 cabins and something like 30 kids and 52 adults (not exact numbers). That's a lot of FE gifts to make or buy and carry in luggage (although I am having so much fun doing it!).

I believe the group initially had agreed to a deadline of July 15, but would there be support for closing the group at this point?

I've never done an FE before, so I don't know how it works...but would it be possible for a new group to start if people find this FE after today? My family will probably always cruise last-minute, so I feel for the late-comers

On the other hand, I've already ordered my FE materials and may not be able to find enough for many more--and then they'd get a substandard gift

I would keep the deadline - we could always do a split FE if we need to.... Meaning that we could do smaller groups. I too a little nervous about so many gifts but it will be fun. I don't want to leave people out if they pop in before the pre-determined deadline

i would be happy if the FE was to close a little earlier, but i will go with what everyone decides

I am new to this as well, but I have read on the disboards about some cruises where there was more than one FE group. If we close our group, somebody easily could start a new one. With that said, I also read about one group which had 75 cabins! I don't know how those folks did it.

i am happy for it to be today, ive already started making our FE, and with only 8 weeks left to go it is quite scary, but exciting how quickly it is coming around

But if anyone would like to leave it open a few more days what about Saturday 7th July? thats exactly 8 weeks.

I agree let's close this thing, I am anxious to get all my stuff done and am good with what we have. Atleast as of today I have power to get started. Lol

I agree... I have 24 items.... I really thought that is all we would have because it has been so quiet on here.... If we go over then I will have to rethink things as my gifts come in a certain lot size etc...

Or if there are over 24 cabins maybe once it hits 25 start another list?.. I think that has been done before and anyone from 25 on would be on another FE list?... Just trying to think out of the box.....

I do have separate things for the kids but the cabin gift is what I am mostly concerned with;/)

Well glad I checked this thread... I have not been checking it since we had discussion the FE section thread was only going to be FE listing/names and cabin numbers. FE closure should have been posted on main thread just in case some new people didn't understand. just my 2 cents I agree with putting cap however please remember there could be some people who have been without power for past week and if they jump on you might want to make an exception.
